*Misty thinks for a long moment as her one arm is wraped around Carson's wast as they walk down the road. Geting a grin on her face she brings her free finger to her mouth as if thinking.*
"Hmmmm...I still cant remember those consequences you keep talking about. Maybe you should refresh my memorie!"
*As Katie runs a towl though her hair from just geting out of the shower she hears the doorbell ring. Throwing on her black pair of pants and her teal tank top Katie heads to the door. Opening the door Katie's eyes meet Jasons. Stuned and probley looking dumb Katie stands in the doorway her mouth gaping open. A scream, a cry, was caught in her throt. Was she dreaming? Katie reaches out slowly and brings her fingers to Jason face as she steps out onto the pourch. Running her fingers lightly over his face its almost like Katie is making sure he is real. As a tear escaps Katies eye her arm goes around Jason's neck as she hugs him close.*
"Jason..."
*How good it was to see him again, how her heart sang. Jason was free. Jason was...home.*

Home
Carson bends a little as Misty surprises him by coming up on his back, but he can’t help his smile. He spins around, then sets her back down on the ground bringing her to the side so he can throw a rough arm around her shoulders. “Mm…and who said that scaring a hunk of an Aussie isn’t dangerous for a young woman like yourself?”
He leans over and kisses her cheek. “Remember those consequences.” He grins and squeezes her tighter as they walk.
Laura comes into TJY and sees Nate setting out traps. She can’t help her giggle as she comes up behind him. “Just couldn’t let it go, could you?” She throws him a grin. “You’re gonna protect me, even if it’s from an itty bitty mouse.”
Jason thinks for a moment, still trying to collect his rampant thoughts. “Um…I guess…I don’t know…. Is all must stuff still at Con’s?”
Reese nods, looking in the rearview mirror at Jason. “Yeah. Last I knew, he hadn’t touched a thing.”
“I guess swing me by there first so I can grab a shower and get into some of my own clothes, and then…I suppose I should come to TJY.”
“There’s a lot we’re going to have to talk about,” Reese informs. “A lot has happened since you’ve been in prison, especially the last few days though. But we’ll talk about it later. For now, just take it easy.”
The ride back is long and fairly quiet. The closer they get, the more Jason realizes that this is reality. An excitement bubbles deep down somewhere, but it doesn’t show on his face.
Getting to Con’s, it’s empty as Con is gone for the day to work. Jason thinks he remembers someone saying he worked at the lumberyard now…that was a strange thought.
After quickly showering he scrounges to find his clothes. His jeans are just a little bit looser at the waist…his t-shirt is just a little bit tighter in the shoulders. Not bothering to do anything with his wet hair, he’s back out into the car.
Reese is just getting off his cell phone. “I just called in to work to see what was happening there. Most everyone has been there all day, but Katie called in late. She’s still at home…” He glances to Jason with question. “Has your destination changed?”
Lifting an eyebrow, Jason thinks for a moment. “Uh, yeah….sure…take me by her place I suppose.”
Reese obliges and aims to the other end of town. It doesn’t take long to pull up in front of Laura’s and Katie’s.
Jason can’t help but notice the new car in the driveway. That was interesting.
“You want to just be dropped off?” Reese asks.
Jason hesitates before opening the door. “Sure. I’ll figure out where I’m going after this.” Getting out, he stops and turns back around to the open window. “Thank you… both of you…”
After watching the car disappear down the road, Jason turns to the house. Taking a deep breath, he walks up the porch steps. His stomach was in knots. He’d waited for this for how long? And yet he was hesitating. Why? He was mad at himself…he knew why…he was feeling the same as he had the last time he’d seen Katie…he wanted to give himself to her, and yet didn’t want to have to dig up all the pain to do it. But perhaps….perhaps she wouldn’t ask him to this time.
Finally raising his hand, he rings the doorbell. He waits. As the door opens, he simply stops and stares. His weary eyes lock with Katie’s. No words seem to want to come…what could he possibly say?
where to?
*Katie makes her way into the kitchen, Henry close behind her. It had been a rough night and a worse morning. Maybe Henry new that and that is why he stayed close. Something was going on and though Katie had grown on being able to put her own wall up around her connection with Jason, this morning it was just to strong to hold up and broke through the walls. The emotions, and feelings were far to great. It was almost like there was happyness, sadness, and confustion put into one.Something was going to happen, was about to change. Katie just couldent consintrate enough to be any help do decied she would take the morning off and go into work after lunch.*
*Misty dashes out of her house knowing Carson wouldent be far away. As she jogs farther she catches up fast him him seeing as he is walking. Drawing close enough Misty once again leeps and jumps on Carson's back.*
"Did you know its dangerouse out here. A cute sassy woman could jump a hot hunk of an aussy like yourself."
*Misty plains a kiss on Carson's cheek. Her hair blowing in the wind that had picked up. The morning was drery, and probley going to rain by Misty decieded not to bother driving and walkin with Carson insted.*
*Nate finishs seting up some traps under Laura's desk and around a few other places in TJY. The mouse that had startled Laura was still on the lose somewhere and Nate was determened to get it. Glaning outside he takes note to the clouds and the sound of thunder rolling in the distince. A storm was brewing, and there would be one heck of a mess to clean up from it.*
*Lockheart rides in silence for a long while deep in though. She was excited probley as much as Reese that Jason was out. THough not understanding how she pushed the lawyer part of her away that wanted to question everything and let the friend show that was happy and dident really care.
As they spot Jason walking down the side of the road the grin on Lockheart's face wides. Geting out of the car she says nothing for a moment but gives Jason a hug.*
"Its good to see you."
*After geting back in the car and driving off Lockheart turns in her seat to look at Jason.*
"Hey. Where do you want to go first now that your out?"
Really
Scott grins and chuckles a little. “Yeah, I guess I just never got around to mentioning that fascinating fact about myself.”
He shakes his head and takes a final swig of his pop. Finished with his own lunch, he just watches Katie for several moments, seeming to be deep in thought. But then as if yanking himself back to reality, he stands quickly.
“Well, I gotta clean up this mess to go clean up another one in the copy room. Something about the copy machine.” He rolls his eyes. “Like I’m supposed to be the expert on that or something.”
He throws away his trash and on his way out, he simply reaches down to give Katie’s shoulder a quick squeeze before disappearing into the hall.
Laura hugs Nate back, finally getting herself under control from laughing. “I’m sorry. You can kick the mouse’s butt if you want to.” She giggles. “But you’d have to crawl under my desk to do it.”
The afternoon wears on with little time for much more interaction between staff. A late afternoon meeting with Reese proves to be an encouragement as he relays his meeting with Sheriff Brown. Giving the staff a choice once again, it’s obvious that everyone is in favor of staying and going public as the Elite if possible, rather than disbanding. No one wants TJY to fold completely.
The evening comes quickly, bringing everyone to their separate ways, each knowing tomorrow they will see each other again.
Con returns Jamie’s kiss and hugs her back tightly. “I love you too, Jamie.” A smile creases his lips. He’s made someone happy…and that’s all that mattered right now.
Morning dawns. The sky is clouded over. Though there is no rain in the forecast, the atmosphere is dense. A strange feeling is in the air…change is on the wind.
Scott types at his computer, having come into work two hours early. He stifles a yawn as he retrieves a printout, then takes a moment to lean back and stretch. There was an odd sense around TJY…things were going to be changing very soon.
Carson walks down the sidewalk towards TJY. He’d already gone for his morning jog, once again passing by Misty’s and waking her up. He glances up at the sky again, wondering at the strange clouds. There was a storm brewing, but it wasn’t within the weather…
“What?!” Reese stares dumbfounded at the phone. “What are you talking about? Today?!”
“That’s right.”
“But…no trial, no nothing?”
“I told you I could pull some strings. I just got the signed papers from the judge himself. Jason’s been acquitted.”
“That’s it? I mean…what…”
“You need to get over to that prison, pronto. If you wait too long, they’ll have ample chance to try and get away with something else. I know this goes against all legal systems in so many different ways, but trust me – go pick him up while you have the chance. Once you get him back, settle down for a day or so, then come see me about the other topic at hand.”
“I’ve already spoken to my staff…they’re all in agreement to go public if Lockheart can work on that pardon plea.”
“Good deal. Then I’ll start working on a court date and get back to you.”
“Thank you, Sheriff.”
“Just get that man back home.”
“Will do.” Reese hangs up, still in shock. Dialing again, he speaks with urgency. “Lockheart? Get over to TJY right away. You and I are going up to the prison.”
“Stevenson!”
Jason is leaning against the concrete wall, his arms crossed as he watches the other inmates. He turns his head to the guard. “What?”
“Come on.”
Rolling his eyes, Jason aims for him, going back inside the building. “What is it this time?”
“You’re out of here.”
“What?” Jason is taken by such surprise that he stops and turns. “What do you mean?”
“Order from the judge. Now move.” The guard pushes him down the hall. “Your cell’s already been cleaned out. You’ll get your stuff at the front desk.”
Barely given time to don a shirt without his number, Jason is rushed through the somewhat underhanded methods of release. He’s given a paper sack with the few things he’d had in his cell, and is taken back outside by way of the front doors.
Escorted at gunpoint, he’s led down the drive to the front gates where they’re opened, then closed behind him without so much as a word to get out. He stands numbly, spinning around and looking back inside as the guard retreats.
What had just happened? How was this happening? Who had been at work? And why? Was this some sort of trap?
Jason looks left down the deserted road, then right. He felt as if he were in a daze, and was almost fearful to move, should he step off a cliff in this crazy dream. But it wasn’t a dream. The noon sun beat down hot, causing him to sweat.
Taking one last look toward the inside, Jason decides not to question anymore. He had no clue what had just happened or how, but surely there was an answer somewhere, and surely it had something to do with TJY.
Too shocked to even feel the elation of freedom, Jason turns left and starts to walk on the shoulder of the road. He didn’t know if anyone was coming for him, if someone from the law would pick him up, or anything. But he couldn’t just stand here all day.
“Good land, it’s Jason.” Reese hits the breaks on the car and pulls off onto the shoulder of the road. “They didn’t even wait for us!” he exclaims to Lockheart.
Before exiting the car he takes a sweeping glance of the area. Everything seemed to be clear.
Jason stops in his tracks as he sees the car. A feeling of relief comes over him. Reese…Lockheart… he really was going home.
“Jason!” Reese is quick to approach, extending his hand.
Jason takes it, and accepts the hearty but brief embrace. “Reese… What’s going on?”
“I’ll explain all about it later. For now, just revel in the fact that you’re free.”
Jason swallows hard. “Really?”
Reese stops, suddenly realizing the shock that Jason is going through. “Yeah…really. Come on.” He leads the way to the car.
Jason slides into the back seat and looks up to the front at Lockheart. He didn’t even know what to say… a million and one thoughts were running through his mind. He wants to jump up and down and scream – he was leaving that dreaded prison. Yet he feels almost lost…not knowing what to do or how to act. He’d had no warning at all…no time to mentally prepare for this… he was going home…back to his friends…back to TJY…back to Katie… And he felt utterly helpless, almost stupid for not being able to think straight enough to take this in stride like he had everything else.
His eyes reflect his confusion and struggle, though he emits none of his emotional battle. “Um…hi…I guess.”

Good ending
*As Wyatt heads for the door with Susanne Katie calls.*
"Ladys and Gentilmen, Wyatt had forfeted that means.....SCOTTY IS THE WINNER."
*Katie brings her hands to her mouth and makes the sound of a rawring cowd as Wyatt exits. Turning to Scott Katie smiles and laughs. It was good to see him interact with other and laugh as well.*
"Well I am guessing you had a good morning. I learned something new about you too. You have amazing belches."
*Nate relaxs alittle bit as a grin comes across his face as his give Laura a tight embrace.*
"You had me scaired Laura. I thought I was gonna have to kick someones butt."
*Nate's face turns a bit red as he holds Laura happy she was ok.*
*Jamie enjoys the evening with Con. It was some much needed time alone. As Jamie and Con make there way to park Jamie slips her hand into Con and smiles. Once at the bench Jamie snuggles close to Con. As he puts the braclet on her wrist Jamie looks at it in Aw and than looks back up at Con a tear in her eye. Jamie throws her arms around Con giving him a big kiss and than a hug.*
"I love you Con. Thank you."
Oops
For just a moment, both guys are unsure how to react with Katie entering into their antics, but it doesn’t take but an instant for them to start up again.
Scott leans forward with anticipation, a look of challenge on his face towards Wyatt.
Wyatt downs the rest of his pop in one gulp and slams the empty can down on the table. He sits in silence for several moments, seeming to be deep in thought. He cocks his head a little bit and Scott starts to snicker.
Susanne looks a the report in her hand as she meanders down the hallway towards the break room. Turning through the doorway, she stops. “Hey, Wyatt, would you…”
Too late, she’s interrupted by a thundering belch.
Scott bursts out laughing as he leans back in his chair, holding his aching sides.
Wyatt’s head whips around as his face reddens at Susanne. “Um…yes?”
Susanne rolls her eyes in disgust. “You guys…..” She smirks at Wyatt. “I need you to come look at these records as soon as you’re done….making a fool out of yourself.”
“I’m on my way!” Wyatt quickly clears his place at the table, avoiding his embarrassment. “Right behind you, Susanne…” He throws a grimace to Katie and Scott before making a clean exit.
Scott is finally able to bring his laughing under control, and sighs deeply, still grinning. “Well…that was fun.”
Laura jumps as Nate comes up behind her, and whirls around, smacking right into his chest. “Oh, Nate!” Her eyes go wide and it takes her a moment to regain some composure. Her face starts to redden as a laugh makes it’s way to the surface.
Within moments, she’s outright laughing, tears coming to her eyes. “Oh…Nate, you…” She keeps laughing. “The look on your face…” She manages to point to the desk. “I’m sorry…it was just a…” She has to stop as more laughter comes. “Just a mouse.”
Con chuckles as Jamie takes his phone. “Alright. No interruptions.”
The afternoon is peaceful with a relaxing lunch and hanging out at the mall until a movie plays. After supper, Con and Jamie head to the park as the sun is setting. Though getting dark, the path is lit with glowing lights, making it an enjoyable stroll.
Finding a bench after a while, Con sits down and pulls Jamie down next to him, slinging an arm around her shoulder. “Thanks for a wonderful day,” he says quietly. His hand moves to run his fingers through her soft hair. “I know I’ve been miserable lately with my job and all…thanks for putting up with me anyway.”
He’s quiet for a moment, then reaches into his pocket. He moves his arm back from around Jamie, and takes her hand. Without saying anything, he sets a delicate gold bracelet around her wrist, fastening it gently despite his big hands. “For you and all the worry I put you through.”
10's
*As Katie starts to eat she watches the two guys interact and smiles laughing here and there. As Scott belches Katie's eyes go wide for a moment. After the saprise wairs off Katie grabs the pen from her pocket and her napkin and jots something down. Holding it over her head she smiles. On the napkin there are 2 10's and a 9. In a joking anouncer voice Katie replys.*
"Ladys and gental men we have 2 10's and a 9 across the board. This should put alot of pressure on Wyatt now. Scott is on his tail and catching up fast. Wyatt will have to do extreamly well to stay in the lead."
*Katie puts the napkin down she turns her head and smiles at Scott than turns her head to Wyatt. Grabing her MD bottle Katie brings it to her mouth as if it was a mic and starts to whisper.*
"The crowd had gone silent now, leting Wyatt be able to consintract. Everyone is waiting in antisapation, Scott is also on the edge of his seat waiting to see if he will remain the champ this year."
*Katie smerks at both guys.*
*Jamie smiles up at Con and locks arms with him. Reaching into his pocket she takes his phone and puts it on vibrate and than in her purse.*
"Just making sure we dont get intarupted this time. I want you to myself today."
*Jamie smiles and heads out with Con."
*Nate is deep in though when he hears Laura scream. His heart races as in moment he is up out of his chair and running across the road as fast as he can jumping over and dodging anything in his way. Running up to Laura he puts a hand on his shoulder*
"Laura, Laura...whats wrong are you ok..? Whats going on?"
*Fear corses though Nate as her looks over Laura to make sure she is ok.*
Lunch
Wyatt looks up and grins as Katie enters the breakroom. “Hey there. Yeah, sure, set yourself down. We just started to eat. Looks like we’re all late today.”
He glances to Scott teasingly. “Unless you’d rather we didn’t have the additional company.”
The tones of the two men signal that their lunch had been quite a humorous ordeal already and both were being quite goofy. It wasn’t often that interaction between Scott and Wyatt was witnessed.
Scott smirks at him. “Oh yeah, our conversation about carburetors was a private one indeed.” He rolls his eyes and shoves the empty end chair out with his foot. “Sit down, Hero, before Wyatt makes an idiot of himself.”
“Too late.” Wyatt salutes with his can of pop. “To idiots!”
“Here here!” Scott raises his own pop can, clinking it on Wyatt’s. “And to all those who put up us idiots!”
“Yes!” Wyatt toasts again. “And to Katie – the best idiot-putter-upper there is. May she not kick me for razzing her too much.”
Scotts eyes widen and he looks down at his pop. “Uh-oh.”
Wyatt stops his antics. “What?”
Scott holds up his hand, signaling to wait. Without trying to stop it, an extremely loud belch is released.
“Wooee!” Wyatt gives Scott a high five. “Nice!”
Scott raises both hands in the air, signaling victory. “I’m on an official sugar high, folks, stand back!” Suddenly seeming to remember that Katie is present, his face reddens and he turns his face away, glancing at Wyatt. “Can we have another toast to idiots?”
“Mmm.” Con gives Jamie a squeeze and aims her for the door. “Sorry. Let’s go get some food and enjoy the afternoon, shall we?” He grins down at her. “Oh, did I neglect to tell you that I have the rest of the day off?" He opens the door as they enter the parking lot. "I was thinking lunch at Mom and Pop’s, then maybe a nice walk in the park if it’s not raining, and maybe….just maybe we can catch a movie later on.”
A mouse scurries across the floor, shooting under Laura's desk. She wasn't usually afraid of rodents, but this one had caught her off guard. Letting out a shriek, she stands up quickly and backs out of her cubicle.
Half day
*Katie cant help but laugh alittle at Con's saprise as they pull into the parking lot of TJY again.*
"He's really sweet once you get to know him, and get past his...mishaps."
*Katie cant help but smile with what happend with the chair this morning. As they park the car Katie turns to Con with all serouseness.*
"Con please to tell anyone about what I have told you. Not yet. I want to get everything stratend out and done right before it blows up in my face."
*Steping out of the car Katie heads inside to TJY. It was 1:30 exacly and time for lunch. Heading over to Scotts cubicle she notes he is not there. Figuring he eather got real hungry or was fixing something Katie smiles and shakes her head decieding to head to the breakroom first. Drawing closer she can hear Scott and Wyatt's voice. Entering Katie gives a wave.*
"Hey guys. Mind if I join ya both?"
*Katie new Scott wouldent mind but she dident want to intarupt Wyatt if they were talking about anything important. Heading over to the fridge Katie pulls out some left over chicken from the night before and pops it in the microwave waiting for it to come out. After it is done Katie heads over to the table and sits down at the end closes to Wyatt and Scott.*
"Hows everything going while I was away? Any news from Reese and Lockheart yet?"
*Katie smiles and digs into her food.*
*As Jamie sees Con enter TJY again she smiles and goes over to him giving him a hug.*
"I thought you would never get back and my tummy was going to eat itself.. I got the ok to take the rest of the day off, maybe we can do someting befor you have to head in."
*Jamie smiles up as Con with her big green eyes stairing into his.*
Fine catch
Con just listens some more, knowing Katie was sincerely trying to make the right decision. “I trust your judgment, Kat. And if you think you’re making the right choice, then who’s to stop you?”
He cocks his head as she continues, finding a side road to start heading back the direction of town.
As Katie reveals who it is she’s found, Con’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise. “Scott?” He looks to her, feeling stupid for showing so much surprise when evidently Katie really did care about him. “I…okay…” He gives a little nod. Scott was a good man…Con had never been close friends to him, but he was an honest Christian man…
Con gives Katie a sidelong glance, the corner of his mouth quirking a little. He was still confused about her decision about Jason, but he wasn’t going to make it any harder on her than it already was. The least he could do was support her. “So…Scott...alright.” He nudges her arm with his elbow and gives her a wink. “I betcha he’s a right fine catch for ya.”
Turning down another road, they’re back on the main street to head back to TJY.
“Hey, Scott, eating late today?”
Scott doesn’t shift his gaze from his computer as he hears Wyatt’s voice. “Guess so.”
Wyatt looks at his watch. “Me too. I’m headed to the break room. Want to join me?”
Scott finally turns and opens his mouth. “Actually I…”
“Oh, were you waiting for somebody?”
Scott hesitates. Yes, he was. But he couldn’t say so. “I’ll join ya,” he relents. “I think I got a frozen dinner in the freezer to warm up.”
Scott
*Katie lets out a sigh as she continues to look out the window. The words Con spoke though trying to bring her comfort really dident. At the sound of Con telling her she was giving up on Jason made her cringe and made her heart ack even more.*
"I'm not giving up on him Con. He did that himself. I've known Jason for a long time now and I know you have to. But I've seen parts of him no one alse has. The depth of his soul is endless, and He's not just going to change in the snap of the fingers when he gets out. I know him and thats not him and you know it as much as I do. I delt with him befor at the ranch when he was the old Jason, and I ended up leaving than to. Now everythings changed and since seeing him as the man I loved I dont know if I could deal or handle the old Jason again Con."
*Katie lets out a long sigh and wonders herself if she wes jumping to fast. Maybe she was but she couldent help deny the pull she had twords Scott to her it felt right. She was sad and it was going to be hard. It was starting to be hard already. The pull in both directions, the pain of the words spoken by many.
Katie trys to hide the tears that were forming in her eyes. The eyes that showed she was in great pain. Torn. Confused.*
"Con, I'll give him some time to see if he changes back before as I know your thinking make any rash desitions. ok? If the Jason I love did come back, I would be very happy and thrilled."
*Katie looks away from Con and out the front window. The sky had opened up and rain was starting to fall even though it was sunny. As Katie watched the drops she couldent help but feel that was what was going on inside her as well. The sun was out, but the rain, they tears there were still there. As Con mentions Wyatt Katie's eyes grow wide as she shakes her head.*
"No Con Its not Wyatt. Its someone alse. Someone I dident even exspect. He came out of no where. Its not like I saw him and was like...OMG i want to date him Con. I just...we went out as friends..and I dont know what happend."
*Katie lets out a sigh hesatating for a moment not sure how Con would react. She new he probley would be saprised to find out Katie would find intrest in someone like Scott. Shaking her fear she decieds to just tell him he was her best friend and she dident want to hide stuff from him. She had confadince he wouldent say anything to anyone.*
"It's Scott Con."
Surprise
Con listens quietly, driving with no destination in mind. As Katie talks about Jason, he’s filled with a sad disappointment. He had had no contact with his friend at all, but he trusted Katie’s observation. If anyone could tell if Jason had changed, it would be her.
When Katie mentions another, Con’s eyebrows shoot up and he glances in her direction. Despite a disappointment in Jason, Con was very surprised to hear she would have found someone else. Never would he have imagined she would give up on Jason or discover a relationship with another man.
As Katie concludes, Con lets out a long sigh, unsure how to respond, if he should even respond at all.
“Well, Kat…I’m sorry you’ve been having such a rough time of it.” He reaches over to give her shoulder an encouraging squeeze. “Sometimes life throws us a few extra lemons, doesn’t it.”
After thinking a moment and turning down a back country road, he speaks again. “You know…I guess I’m a might surprised you’ve given up on Jason before he’s even gotten home… I believe you when you say he’s changed, but …well, don’t you think you should see what kind of a person he is when he gets out? He might very well snap back to himself.”
Con reasons aloud. “Of course…I can’t blame you either. If Jason’s been pushing you away, what were you supposed to do…you can’t stop your life because of him. And I know without him letting you into his feelings, that’s gotta hurt something awful and be a pretty lonely road.”
He bites his tongue from asking what he wants to, but then decides to go ahead anyway. The most she could do was not tell him. “Kat…I don’t want to be nosey or ask you something you don’t want to answer, but…who is this other man? Is it Wyatt?”
2 people
*Katie is silent for a long moment. Just leting Con's question linger. Her feelings were all messed up, and it was always hard for her to shair.*
"Things are so crazy right now Con I dont even know where to start. I know you would say just start at the biginning."
*Katie lets out a long sigh as she collects her thoughts. She new with Con if she dident word something right he would know what she ment anyways. But Katie wanted to try and get it right at least alittle bit. Katie stairs out the window as she talks.*
"Over the last few months Jason has been changing. I know thats to be exspected cuz he's in jail and all I dont blame him. Its just...he's goten cold with me. His letters, the way he talks, the way he acts. He's shuting down again and shuting me out driving my "Ability" to go haywire. Its like running running running and slaming into a brick wall. And it dosent feel good at all. The other day when I was really sick that was from my feelings being blocked. A broken heart, a broken soul. He's turning back into the old Jason and when he gets out is he going to change back into the man I fell in love with? Something tells me he wont and it hurts alot. The one I first met when you came to the ranch. I probley sound crazy or something I dont know its just hard to explain.*
*Katie keeps her eyes out the window trying to decied if she should go on or not. She might as well keep going on, Con was like a brother to her and he would always love her life a sister no matter what she did and Katie new that. Con was one of her best friends.*
"There has also been someone new who has entered my life. He's been there for me, and tryed to comfort me all he can. He's made me smile alot, and I dont know he's just differnt. There is a certin peace about him. This is hard to explain too. umm...have you ever put your arms out and just spin and spin and spin? Well, that's what its like in this situation kind of. Everything inside of you tells you to stop before you fall, but you just keep going. Its just complacated. I love Jason on one hand and I want to stick it out with him but I cant handle how he has changed her not the Jason I feel in love with and on the other had I have this totally differnt guy who's elped me, showed me a side of himself I never new, and he truly cares for me and he is just differnt. The feeling with him is differnt."
*Katie lets out a long tired side now knowing if what she is saying is making sence or not. Katie rolls down her window alittle enjoying the warm breeze. She hadent spent time with Con in a long time. She had been wrapped up so much in everything Katie failed to stop and feeling the finer things in life. She had missed so much.*
Anything
Con nods. “Sure. I’ll be waiting.”
He turns and head toward the exit, stopping again by Jamie’s desk just briefly. “I’ll be back so we can go grab lunch,” he promises. “Don’t go anywhere.”
He goes out to the parking lot and waits by his car, enjoying the warm day.
Scott gives Katie a shrug. “I don’t think I’ll waste away if I don’t eat at noon.”
He gives her a smirk. “I’ll try not to hurt myself, but I give no guarantees. If you can’t find me when you get back, check out the infirmary.”
Con straightens from leaning against his car as Katie emerges from the building, and gets in, starting the engine. Once Katie is in, he pulls out of the parking lot and aims for the outskirts of town, just taking his time.
He gives Katie a sidelong glance. “So…what’s on your mind, Kat?”
Mick smiles at Rosetta and he gives a little nod. “Thank you, Rosetta…for giving me meaning and a reason to live.”
Things were going to change again, and very quickly. But it was a good change, and Mick was ready.
“I’ll get a hold of Damien and we’ll move forward as we need to. And I’m right here…anything you need, you just tell me.”
yes
*Katie smiles at Con and nods. He was her big brother she always new she could come to him with anything and he would truly give his say on things.*
"Ya I think I would like that. I just need to run and let someone know lunch will be alittle later today. I'll meet you out by your car?"
*Kaite grabs her jacket and purse and makes her way to Scott's desk.*
"Hey Scott, I know you said you would be in the lunch room around noon, but I am going to be runing out with Con fast. I'll be backa round 1:30 for lunch than if you happen to be around or in the naborhood of the breakroom at the time."
*Katie gives Scott a hint wink. Before turning she snickers.*
"Try not to hurt youself while I am gone ok?"
*Turning Katie makes her way out of TJY and hopes into Con car.*
*Misty laughs and smiles at Carson thumbing at Rick.*
"Ya know he does have a point."
*Lockheart thinks for a moment before answering. She had a good long chanse to study Brown. His eyes, his movments, his words.*
"From what I can tell Brown is pritty trust worthy. He seems like he really wants to help us. From what I could see his eyes were clean and his words pure. I think we stand a good chanse in this after all Reese."
*Rosetta enbraces Mick in a tight hug she cant help but smile a few tears of joy escaping her eyes. How she loved Mick's arm wraped around her they always made her feel safe and warm. Starting a family so soon would be differnt and at times even trying but Rosetta was ready to face the challange head on.*
"Yes Mick, I would be ok with it. How could I deny my two fav guys?!"
*Rosetta pulls away from Mick and just looks him in the eyes for a long while. There would be much that needed to be talked about in the next few days, and alot of stuff that would need to be gone over and planed in a hurry. Though Rosetta was scaired cuz things were going to be moving fast she was even more excited. She finally would be married to the man she wanted so long for. Her dream come true. and the family she always wanted.*
All my heart
Con returns Katie’s hug, holding his smile. “Oh, I’m doing okay…work at he lumberyard is absolutely crazy and I think Jamie’s ready to kill my boss, but otherwise…” he chuckles a little.
He cocks his head, studying Katie for a moment. “I know it’s almost lunchtime, but…if you want to talk, we can go for a drive.”
Carson grabs Misty’s feet as she wraps her legs around him, a grin finally escaping. He carries her inside and across the floor, nodding to some of the others as if it should be completely natural to see him giving Misty a piggyback ride.
Heading to the infirmary, he kicks the door open and steps inside.
Rick looks up from the counter, his eyebrows raising. For a moment, he says nothing, then he rolls his eyes. “I shouldn’t be surprised.”
Carson throws him a wry grin and deposits Misty near her desk. “Hey, doc, keep her out of trouble, will you? She’s already caused a ruckus today.”
“Me?” Rick throws up his hands. “I can’t be held responsible for either of you. It’s too dangerous!”
The drive back to TJY is quiet for a while, until Reese finally breaks the silence, speaking to Lockheart. “Well…I’m shocked. What do you think about all this? Do you think Brown is trustworthy?”
Mick takes in Rosetta’s words, absorbing them and tucking them into his heart. His eyes close as she touches his face, drawn in by her warmth.
He reaches up to take her hand, and kisses it gently before pulling her into an embrace.
“I failed at being a dad once…but I know with you around I can’t fail again,” he says quietly. “And I don’t want that little boy to end up in some home where people don’t understand him.”
He pauses, just enjoying having Rosetta in his arms. “I love you with all my heart, whether we get married in two weeks or two decades… Whether we start out just the two of us, or with a family. I just want to make sure that you’re okay with this before we make this decision.”
The Answer
*Katie cringes as she hears Scott crash into something. Only seconds later to laugh as she hears him yell. Shaking her head she smiles. Scott sure did make her smile, and gave her the warm soft glow. It felt good.*
A few hours pass and Katie is finishing up before lunch when she hears Con's voice. Looking up a smile cross her face as she stands to give him a hug.*
"Big Brother!!"
*Backing up from the hug Katie holds her smile as she looks at Con.*
"Oh I'm haning in there. Just have a bunch of differnt stuff running through my mind. Stuff I dont think I should talk about at work. So that makes me kind of blah but I am feeling a bit better alittle. How about you? How are you holding up?"
*As Carson comes in for another kiss Misty returns it bringing her hands around him. Enjoying the moment. As Carson pulls away Misty smile. Instead of heading inside Misty makes one quick movment around to the back of Carson and jumps on his back wraping her legs around his wast and her arms around his chest.*
"ON WORD!!!! Before we are late."
*Misty brings her head down so her cheek is close to Carson's as he walks inside.*
*For a moment Rosetta stands stunned looking out into the pasture. Not sure what to say. Many thought ran through her mind. Everything flipped upside down fast.*
"Wow..Mick...I am thrilled and happy of the idea, a even feel a bit of excitment. but this is a big desition that would be made. I know I would be ready to start a family with you Mick. We have been with each other 20+ years. Maybe not dating, or engaged. But we have grown together, been through alot and in the end we always come out back together. In our many years as friends, boyfriend/girlfriend, or being engaged I have defined what love is. I've loved before you, and even after but than I found you again and I new truly what love was. Love....Love is when you don't want to go to sleep because reality is better than any dream I could have.
*Rosetta lets out a sigh as she scans the pasture and watches the horses graze.*
"Look, I guarantee there'll be tough times. I guarantee that at some time, one or both of us is gonna want to get out of this thing we started, But I also guarantee that if I don't say yes. I'll regret it for the rest of my life, because I know, in my heart, you're the only one for me. But you also need to search yourself truly and deeply and ask if your ready for this. I dont want you to hesatate, or feel its wrong. I want you to know its right so it will be."
*Rosetta moves a bit closer to Mick and brings her hand to his face running her tumb over his cheek.*
"Mike, take love, multiply it by infinity and take it to the depths of forever.. and you still have only a glimpse of how I feel for you now and forever."
How would you feel
After Katie’s initial response she grows quiet, and Scott cocks his head a little, wondering what was going through her mind.
He gets his answer as she admits she’s not doing great, and his eyes soften with compassion. It really was hard for her, dealing with what Jason was doing. Scott didn’t understand the connection there, but he respected it and knew it was real.
Her request for honesty is understandable, and Scott gives her a little smile. “You don’t have to worry about me, Katie. I’m not gonna lie or hide from you now or ever. You’re too good for that.”
Scott would like to say more…he’d like to give her a hug of encouragement…be close to show her he understands and it’s okay. But now was not the time. Instead, he throws her a quick wink. “Thanks for the paperwork. Maybe I’ll catch you around lunchtime in the break room,” he hints.
Scooting out of her cubicle, he pushes off backward with his feet again to slide back to his own area. A few moments later a crash is heard, then Scott’s voice. “I’m okay!”
Carson’s eyes narrow as he looks at Misty sternly, his face expertly showing no emotion. “Misty Miller, I have half a mind to turn you over my knee for your behavior. You relentlessly insist on driving me crazy, and you know good and well you can drive me up a wall in an instant, and yet you persist.”
As Misty draws closer, Carson looks down at her. “However…once I’ve contemplated everything involved…I think my best option is to simply finish that conversation of ours. Now…I remember what I was going to say when you so rudely cut me off.”
Reaching out he grabs Misty to pull her into his arms and sweeps her into a dip, planting another kiss on her lips. Satisfied, he brings her back up and turns to open the door, abruptly ending the exchange. “Ladie’s first, and be quick before we’re late. You’ve kept us out here long enough.”
Reese nods in agreement to Lockheart, turning to Brown. “She’s right. I have a loyal staff that deserves to know everything. I had a mind not to even bring their names into this, but they insisted on being a team.”
Brown gives a slight nod. “I respect that. And…just so you know…I’ll still help you work on those pardons even if you want TJY to disband instead of forming the Elite.”
“We appreciate that.” Reese pauses, looking to Lockheart, then back to Brown again. “So…I guess it’s in your court. What happens next?”
“You go back to TJY and talk to your staff. I’m going to make some phone calls and pull some strings. I’ve got some clout with Judge Barker…” Brown pauses. “I know a few things about him he wouldn’t exactly want to go public. If I can pull the right strings with the right people…there’s a strong chance we can get Jason out of prison and without a retrial.”
Reese shows his surprise. “How can you do that?”
“Easy. If there’s a retrial, the department is going to look stupid, and Judge Barker will be put in the spotlight. No one wants that. If I play my cards right, I can get written notice to have Jason acquitted. Then we can move on to getting those pardons – that one will require a court hearing, though if I have it my way, it won’t be with Barker.”
Con enters the main floor at TJY and scans for the familiar faces. He greets Nate with a wave, says hi to Laura, then stops at Jamie’s desk, producing a small bouquet of flowers. “These are for you.” He smiles and leans down to kiss her forehead. “For sticking it out with me and being so patient.”
Not giving too much time to talk, Con retreats, going to Susanne for a report since Reese is gone, then heading to Katie’s cubicle. He knows everyone will be dispersing soon for lunch, but he at least wants to check on her.
“Hey there, Kat.” He grins and leans on the cubicle wall. “How ya doing today?”
Mick stops and turns as Rosetta catches up to him outside, but quickly resumes his walk, though slow. He gestures with his head to have her follow him. Instead of aiming for the barn as intended he heads for the pasture fence to lean on it and just look out at the grazing horses.
He doesn’t answer Rosetta right away, still thinking…still contemplating… Was this really right? Was it fair? Was it best?
Sighing, he turns his head to look at Rosetta, his elbows still leaning on the top fence rail. He wanted what was right for them…but he couldn’t make decisions that would affect them on his own.
“Rosetta…I know we’ve had plans…I know you’ve been making plans…for the future…for us… And I don’t even know if this is fair to you to even ask you this… but I want to, and if you don’t think it’s wise, then I just want you to say so…”
Mick’s eyes search hers, the love showing through. But there’s just no easy way to ask. “A lot is happening now with TJY and the Agency and no one knows what he results will be. And we never know when the battle with the Agency will be over…”
He pauses for just a moment. “Rosetta…how would you feel about getting married in two weeks and starting a family with a little six-year-old boy before he gets lost in the system?”

Emotions
*Katie giggles at the thought of Domino waking Scott up. Growing alittle more serouse as Scott asks how she is feeling but trying to smile.*
"I'm doing great.."
* Katie stops herself for a moment knowing that was a lie. But she dident want Scott worrying about her. A feeling rushes over Katie of Jason and how he was hiding his feeling from her. She dident like how it felt and it caused her great pain, though it was intensified for her she could probley bet Scott would probley be hurt as well for her not being honnest with him. Katie wanted her and Scott to have a chanse, she wanted them to start on the write foot and if she started hiding her feeling before they even had a start than there never would be one.
Leting out a long sigh Katie looks down and than looks back up at Scott.*
"No, I'm not great. I'm not horrable, but not great eather. I'm still having a hard time feeling Jason shuting me out. I'm trying to teach myself how to block it out and its not working. It take alot of energy to do it. I mean once I get better at it, it will come nateraly and it will be ok. But till then my nights are going to be restless, and it just hurts."
*Katie looks down for a moment thinking long and hard and than looks back up at Scott.*
"Hey Scott, mmm...once everything is worked out and we starts our relationship together, let be completly honnest with eachother. I mean I wouldent exspect anything less from you Scott but I guess I am conferming for myself. I've seen what lies and hiding does. How much damage it can do, more than telling the truth. I just want us to have a fair chanse with eachother, and....ya...I'm not sure what alse I am trying to say."
*Katie gives a nervouse little laugh.*
*As Carson steps infront of Misty stoping her from opening the door she looks up at him raising one of her eyes brows trying her best not to smile but failing.*
"Oh promises promises Carson, its actions that speak louder. Now if you dont mind moving Mr. Banks I wont have to use force. Than again you might like that soo....We could always continue that conversation if you like."
*Misty steps closer to Carson again grinning.*
*Lockheart listens to Sheriff Brown and Reese talk throwing in comment here and there. Filling in holes where should could. As the conversation comes to an end and Sheriff Brown turns a question to her Lockheart is silent for a moment than starts speaking with confadence.*
" I will stand by these people till the end. Till this is over and if they need me after I will there. I will protect and help every single person that works for TJY. I also think...."
*Lockheart looks to Sheriff Brown and than Reese.*
"...that before we go saying with will join "The Elite" we need to once again talk it over with out staff. Alot of things would be changing from this weather its great or small but I think they should be filled in than have a desition made."
*As Rosetta chanses BJ she looks up to see Mick looking at her. His eyes showed he had alot to think about. Stoping BJ she smiles and tells him to go wash up and they would ride in alittle bit. As BJ trots off to the bathroom Rosetta follows Mick outside.*
"Hey Hun. Is everything ok? You looks like something is wrong."
Elite
Scott takes the files from Katie and shrugs. “Yeah, I had a great night sleep until Domino woke me up licking my feet.” He rolls his eyes, shaking his head. “What about you?” He searches Katie’s face. “How you holding up?”
Carson raises his eyebrows as Misty grows serious and tries to figure out where she’s going with her statement. As she nears and finishes her comment, Carson’s eyes grow even wider, but he can’t say anything as she’s already embracing him in a kiss.
Unable to resist, he lets his arms fall around her, bringing her even closer to him as he returns the kiss with passion.
Still breathing heavily from his run across the parking lot, Misty’s kiss leaves him even more breathless and he just stands lamely as she walks away.
Finally spinning around, he yells after her. “Hey, that’s no conversation! I wasn’t done talking yet!”
Hearing her ‘complaint’ of being woken up, he jogs after her, catching up just in time to block the door. He looks at her slyly for a moment, still trying to catch his breath. “And if that’s how you react to a wakeup call, I might just have to do it again, so don’t tempt me.”
“So…what can I do for you?” Sheriff Brown leans back in his chair and looks at Reese and Lockheart from across his desk.
Reese tries to remain collected, exchanging a glance with Lockheart to make sure they were really ready. “Well…we have a long story to tell you, Sheriff, and we’re both just hoping that you’ll hear us through to the end.”
Brown lifts an eyebrow in curiosity. “Alright…you have the floor and I’ve got the time.”
Reese clears his throat. “I’m sure you recall a case over six months ago regarding a young man by the name of Jason Stevenson. We…”
“Oh yes,” Brown cuts him off. “It was that rushed murder case. Never did set right with me how that all happened.”
Reese raises his eyebrows. This was a positive start. “Well…it never set with us right either. And that’s why we’re here.”
“Oh? I had the understanding that plea was already stated and he was still found guilty.”
“This is true, but…” Reese hesitates, then jumps right in again. “I think we have some evidence now that would back up our case and present the opportunity for a retrial.”
Brown leans forward, intrigued. “And this evidence wasn’t presented before, because…?”
“Because the livelihoods of many people are at stake, and we needed to find the right person to present it to.” Reese locks eyes with Brown. “What we’re about to tell you is something we’ve told no one before…please have an open mind.”
…Brown is leaning back casually in his chair, his sleeves rolled up, a pause in the conversation that had lasted over an hour. He closes his eyes for a moment, trying to get a handle on everything he’d just been told. “So…let me get this straight…there’s a group of outlaws…the Agency, you say… that was established years ago, starting out as an adoption agency. They got out of hand…they have a guy who’s a sadistic doctor who likes to torture people…he particularly targeted a group who’s in Texas…” He pauses, counting off events on his fingers. “One of them turned around, double-crossed them and started his own organization to try and take them down…and that organization is underground here in Nevada. In the meantime, the folks in Texas are still getting bothered, your men here in Nevada are being bothered and…the law doesn’t have a clue that all this is going on.”
Reese sighs a little and nods with a shrug. “In a really small nutshell.”
“And…you believe that it’s the Agency’s doing that Jason is in prison now.”
“Exactly.”
“So…you’re telling me that the Agency has been involved with lawlessness for years and no law enforcement has ever discovered them?”
Reese isn’t sure if Brown is starting to disbelieve them or not. He reaches to Lockheart for some of their case files. “We’ve got case after case here where there have been ‘unexplainable’ lawlessness, unfound murderers, etcetera. There’s ample proof of dirty cops, judges and more. Of course the ‘Agency’ is never mentioned specifically because no one knows about it, or ignores it because of its power.”
Brown reaches out to take the files and sifts through them. “And I could call these departments and have verification on all of these?”
“Yes. It’s all fact.”
“Hmm…and so there’s this ghost Agency…and then there’s TJY who not only combats the Agency, but also helps out in situations where the law isn’t doing a good enough job?”
Reese hands over more files. “Here’s instances where you can see anonymous help, evidence coming to light and more, all credited to no one, because the law didn’t know who was helping.”
“And you’re saying that it was TJY.”
“Yes.”
“Mmm.” Brown continues to look through the files, not showing much emotion or opinion. “There’s been many times I’ve been involved in cases that I thought there was a gang or group or something that was stirring up trouble, but I could never prove it… And it was just recently we got help on a case where evidence came up out of nowhere...I thought it was a mistake from our department…”
He tosses down the file. “So what really happened with Jason that day, hmm? You had quite a story in court, but I’m guessing now there was more to it.”
“You’re right.” Reese isn’t going to hold anything back now. They were in too far. “There was a young girl that had been kidnapped by the Agency. Jason was part of the group that went to get her out. They couldn’t call the police – one, because they never believed them, and two, because the Agency would have retaliated. One of the Agency thugs was going to kill Katie and this other woman. Jason had no choice and shot him.”
“Wow.” Brown raises his eyebrows.
Shifting the conversation just a little, he swivels his chair in thought. “So…tell me more about TJY…if you’re underground, where do you get funding? How do you pay your employees?”
“We get funding from many sources,” Reese explains. “Some just from individuals who believe in our cause. Some from employees who have their own PI offices. And we receive a large percentage of our income from the business above the basement where we’re located. Amazingly enough, from those sources we’ve been able to keep people employed for many years.”
“And you have your own medical station?”
“An infirmary, yes. We have a doctor on staff, and recently hired on an assistant for him. In most cases we can take care of our own, though sometimes it’s serious enough we do go to the hospital. When that happens, we have protocol to follow when explaining to the doctors what happened.”
Brown shakes his head a little, his eyes showing a strange intrigue. “And you have all this computer equipment…you’ve been hacking into systems?”
Reese looks at his watch, then points to Brown’s computer.
Brown turns around and wakes up the monitor, his eyes widening. A message has appeared on the screen. “Hello, Doug, Brown! From the friendly desk of TJY.” He snaps his attention back to Reese. “Who did this?”
“That would be our tech guy, Scott. Computer whiz. He does most of our technical stuff.”
Brown starts to mull over everything in his mind and is silent for a long while. He sifts through the papers, asks some more questions, and finally just sits, shaking his head. “I can’t believe it…” He looks up at Reese and Lockheart. “You’re the Elite.”
Reese furrows his brow. “Pardon?”
A smile starts to spread across Brown’s face. “The Elite.” He stands up, starting to pace in a circle. “For years, I’ve been trying to get a group together to form an elite branch of the law, but no one would back me up. It would cost too much, there were too many hoops to jump through…there weren’t enough people to man a new department.”
He twirls around and leans his hands on his desk, looking down at Lockheart and Reese. “What if I could turn TJY into a state-funded law enforcing department?”
Reese’s eyes widen in disbelief. “Are you kidding me?”
“Would I kid about a thing like that?” Brown holds up one of the files. “This is amazing. Utterly amazing. You guys have done things and accomplished tasks I’ve been wanting to do for years! Taking down the dirty cops has never been easy, but you guys are pulling them of one by one – at least you’ve got record of them which is more than I’ve got.”
Reese’s mouth has been hanging open, and he shuts it. “I…” He glances to Lockheart then back to the Sheriff. “Well…that sounds…amazing, but… Well first of all, we’re here for one purpose this morning.”
“To get Jason out.” Brown nods. “I see now why you couldn’t come out with all this before. But I have no doubt with all of this, we can have a retrial quick and dirty and get him out of there before you can blink.”
Reese’s pulse quickens. “Really?”
Brown nods. “But there’s a catch.”
“What’s that?”
“I want you to say yes to being the Elite.”
Reese swallows hard, thinking. “Well Sheriff…you do realize that…when all this evidence is brought up in court, almost all of TJY will be under arrest for the things we’ve been doing.” He pauses with an idea. “Unless we have a sharpshooter lawyer to plead for pardons for everyone on staff, and everyone in Texas.”
Brown straightens and folds his arms across his chest, contemplating. “You said you’ve got people on TJY staff who have been criminals, even worked for that Agency.”
“This is true. But they’re on our side now, and they’ve turned around. And isn’t that what prison is for? Turning someone around? So if they’ve already learned their lesson, why put them behind bars?” Reese can feel a bargaining chip forming. “You help us get Jason out, and you let Lockheart plea for total pardons, and you got yourself a deal.”
Brown quirks an eyebrow, turning to Lockheart. “What do you have to say about all this?”
Mick watches as Rosetta and BJ interact, a small smile forming. BJ had it good here…if only it was a real family…
Mick slaps his cowboy hat on his head and aims for the door. Looking back one last time, he catches Rosetta’s eye. He conveys a look to her that his mind is full…there is something troubling his heart…something he hasn’t quite figured out yet…perhaps something he needs to tell her.
Turning, he heads outside.
Fun and Games
*Katie smiles at Wyatt and gives a wave going back to work work. Moments later Katie's ears perk up at a strange sound that was growing louder. Now sure what it is Katie turns and just listens. It sounded like it was coming right for her cubicle. Suddany seeing Scott go flying by Katie quirks an eyebrow. "Oh did I tell you I dont play nice when someone wakes me up out of a dead sleep?"

"Tast good?"
*BJ gives a toothy grin to Rosetta.*

For the best
Wyatt quirks an eyebrow at Katie, but drops any questions he might have. “Glad you’re doing okay.” He pauses in thought. “I’m doing alright. I’ll be glad when this is all over.”
He lingers for just a moment, then grins as he walks away. “Catch you later, Hero.”
Scott is finally able to get back to his own computer after helping Susanne. He turns it on and heaves a sigh, sifting through all the printouts and notes he and Katie had collected on Saturday. But it doesn’t look like he’s got everything from Katie, and he needed to make copies for Reese.
Scooting out of his cubicle, he looks left and right. Seeing the coast clear, he turns around and shoves off, riding his chair across the floor past the row of cubicles.
Misjudging the distance, he flies past the opening of Katie’s cubicle before dragging his sneakers as brakes, spinning around and pushing himself back to her doorway.
Acting as though nothing was out of the ordinary, he tosses Katie a quirky grin. “Hey, you got those printouts you had from Saturday?”
Carson takes the stairs of the apartment from two floors up, sliding down the railing the last few steps. Skipping down off the concrete porch, he heads at a walk towards TJY.
As he gets about a block away from the entrance, he hears as car and turns to see Misty coming down the road at a fast clip.
Knowing the competition was on, Carson breaks into a run, sprinting for the driveway. He’s no match for a car though, and makes it behind the vehicle, barely stopping to show his ID.
Racing through the parking lot he sees Misty park in her normal spot. Coming up from the passenger side he takes a jump and slides across the hood, landing by her door to open it. Trying not to show he’s winded, he stands to the side and looks at her with mock annoyance. “What took you so long?”
Reese nods with satisfaction. “Alright then. Lets get our things together and head out.”
A while later, Reese and Lockheart are on their way out of town, and soon arrive at the police station in the next county.
Mick’s shoulders drop a little at Damien’s decision, but he knows that it’s probably the best choice. Damien had been dealt a hard hand, and now was trying to make the right decision for himself and his son. Mick couldn’t blame him.
“I understand, Damien, and I don’t think low of you at all. It’s a hard call, but…in the long run, it’s probably best.” He pauses, thinking. “If you want to stop by here sometime soon, we can talk about what agency to contact, and how we can handle the details without giving the law too much to worry about.”
Finishing up the call with just a bit of small talk, Mick hangs up. He glances around the mess hall at the people filtering out, and spots BJ finishing up his breakfast. He was such a sweet little boy…he deserved a good home…a good family.
Mick couldn’t help the twinge of sadness. He’d gotten used to the little tyke being around… BJ had reminded him of Dylan, and in a way had given him a taste of having a second chance. But his nephew needed a family…he needed a mom and dad, not just a bunch of people trying to all pretend that a group was a sufficient replacement for two parents.
Sighing, Mick rises from his chair. A thought had lodged itself in his heart, and he just wasn’t convinced it was worth contemplating.
Destion
*Misty's eyes shoot open as she jumps out of bed at the sound for a loud pound on her window. Hearing the voice Carson's voice Misty cant help but get a grain on her face. Still in her black pants, and white tanktop she turns to the door swinging it open to step on the pourch. Seeing Carson slowly disapear she yall after.*
"CARSON....GOOD MORNING."
*Misty turns and heads back inside. What a way to wake, most people would think it rude and disrespectful but Misty loved it. Heading into the shower Misty takes only a few moment before jumping out and geting dressed in her bluejeans and light green tank top. Misty braids her hair today and puts on alittle bit of makeup. Heading back into the living room Misty feed and waters Romieo and Juliet. Grabing a banana Misty heads out the door again hoping into her car and racing down the road to try and get to TJY before Carson.*
*Kaite looks up from her desk as Wyatt approches.*
"Morning Wyatt."
*Katie is about to answer Wyatt when Scott walks by with his greeting. Grinning Katie gives a wave back to Scott.*
"Morning Scott."
* Katie watches as Scott walks past He was dressed as "himself" again today. It made Katie smile. Katie goes back to her work. Remembering Wyatt had asked her a question she looks up.*
"I'm feeling good. I hope this works and Jason will be able to come home. I've missed him along with the others missing him too. Jason dosent belong there and its doing him no good. The sooner we can get him out the better. And how are you this morning Wyatt?"
*Lockheart lets out some air in her lips pushing herself up from the chair to look at the file Reese put down. Skimming through it Lockheart looks up at Reese.*
"As long as we can get Sheriff Brown to believe us I am 100% sure we can pull this off. I can build a pritty solid case with everything you guys have collected and we should be good at golden.I cant promise TJY wont be shut down but I can Do everything to keep everyone out of jail. I think we have a chanse at this. I really do.*
*Damien comes in from the barn and pick up the phone after being told he had a car.*
"Oh Hey Mick."
*Damien thinks for a long moment on Mick's question. It was a hard question to answer but Damien new what he had to do and he prayed on it for a long while. It couldent let BJ suffer. Damien lets out a long sigh a hint of sadness in his voice.*
" Its a hard desistion to make Mick and I hope you dont think low of me but, I think the best option would be to find BJ an addiquit home other than with me. Put his up for adoption. The time I have spent with my son I have loved, and I have grown very font of him. But I am still tryiung to find my own path in life, and I am not stable enough to take care of a child. I couldent let BJ suffer. If he was with a more stable family with people who new where there path in life was leading BJ would have a chanse at a good life and thats whats important to me for my son."
*Damien lets out a long sigh. As a silent tear ran down his face. Over the last months he had spend much time with BJ, and loved everymoment of it. He had spend much time catching up with his son and now he was going to lose him again. It hurt but Damien new it was the right thing to do.*
