Live Again

*Still running a gentil hand through Kyle's hair Misty cant help her smile as she see Kyle's one eye open and look at her. He was trying to follow what she said and that was good at least that ment he was understanding and comprehending.

As Kyle's eyes drift shut again Misty just stairs at his face, though his body was still battling Kyle had started to look a tad bit at peace again. Kyle had a long way but it was a start. Not sure if Kyle is sleeping or not Misty smiles and gives his forhead a tiny kiss.*

"It's going to be ok now Kyle. Your going to be ok."

*Misty continues to watch Kyle her eyes scanning his quiet face. As Misty wanted him she can't help but let her mind wonder for a moment to, tonight. She new this was a decoy to try and get the Agency to attach again, but a sudden nervouseness cant help but surface in Misty stomach.

As Misty thinks, her mind goes back to Kyle and soft words enter her mind, as the escape from her lips in a soft tone of comfort.*

In the gold flood of light
Where the earth meets summer skies
In the satin chill of night
Where dreams await to rise
You bend, you kiss me
You pull me in
I can feel you
Running to me, running through me

Hear the call of night
Open the borders of time
Hear the song of the stars
Sound like a whisper
I've fallen deep from the day
Into eternal, eternal visions of our emotions

I am diamond, I am rust
From the place a love of love and pain
Made from heaven made from dust
Where dreams will live again

yeah...where dreams will live again

*Misty's words drift off into a soft hum as she hold Kyle, waiting as the minutes tick by. Not taking her eye from Kyle as she watches over him.*

Comfort

Never before having ever experienced anything like this, Kyle numbly follows Misty’s guidance, sitting up, trying to drink some water, and lying back down again. The feeling that surged through him was unexplainable. It felt as though his whole body was at war. For an instant, every single muscle in his body hurt before they relaxed again.

Finally having emptied his stomach, Kyle’s head sinks back down into the pillow his eyes closed, the sweat running down his face. His breathing was rapid and shallow as for several more minutes he fights a painful cough.

He feels the cool cloth on his face and swallows hard, just soaking in the coldness as it combats the risen temperature.

Caught somewhere between reality and a world where nothing made sense, Kyle’s eyes flutter open, then shut again as he tries to make sense of what’s going on. He wants to wake up to know what's happening, but exhaustion holds him back.

Then he feels the comforting arm around him, almost willing him to relax. The soothing voice hits his ears like an antidote in itself to combat his urge to fight. His body begins to relax under Misty’s touch, her fingers running through his hair bringing a feeling of peace.

Doing his best to do as told, Kyle tries to slow his breathing down and eventually the coughing lessens, finally subsiding.

Squinting one eye open, he sees Misty’s eyes looking back at him. It takes effort to not drift asleep again, and a faint grin tweaks the corner of his mouth. Pale and weakened, his eyes fall shut again. But his hand moves, coming up to rest on Misty’s face, his fingers cradling her cheek. For a moment, his thumb runs along her jawline, then he’s quiet again. It’s not positive whether he’s drifted back to sleep or not.

It's ok

*As Misty rests with Kyle her eyes were closed but she was far from asleep. Her mind roaming, hoping that for Kyle this would work.

As Kyle starts to cough and prosists to throw up Misty snaps her head up from the bed. Her eyes growing wide. Jumping up from the chair Misty helps Kyle sit up and lean over the bed into the bucket next to the bed so he dosn't choke more than he already was.

Leaving his side for a moment Misty goes to the sink and grabs another cool cloth and a glass of water and hurrys back to Kyle's side. Sitting down on the edge of the bed close to Kyle Misty trys to get Kyle to drink at least a little bit before sitting the cup down. Than taking the cool cloth Misty whipes Kyle's face with it trying to keep his body cool.

The Sympathy in her eyes for Kyle shows through and though. The antidote seemed to be working but it was still a painful process and it pained Misty to see Kyle in pain.

As Kyle curls up Misty lays next to him on the small bed and wraps her amrs around him. Offering him shelter. Seeing Kyle said was enough to drive anyone crazy, this man who always wore a smile, was now facing his greatest test of all.

As Misty keeps her arm wrapped around him she runs her other hand through his hair and she leans her head on his. Misty didn't care that Kyle was a mess and dirty, it dient bother her one bit she just wanted Kyle to know she was there.*

"Shhhh....Kyle, its ok...its going to be ok. I'm right here with you. Just try and breath slowly...It's going to be ok. I won't leave you. Take some breaths in through you noise and out through you mouth."

Working

Kyle makes it through the restless night, waking up periodically coughing, and finally a small fever sets in.

At five, as Misty comes to him, he barely opens his eyes, feeling too exhausted to move. And when he did move, all he did was cough. So he just lies still, feeling the prick of the needle and wincing but not drawing away.

Feeling Misty’s soft kiss, then her hand in his, a faint grin appears on his face, even though his eyes are closed, and he tightens his fingers just a little around hers. He knew he’d worsened in the night, but his spirit was just as strong as ever.

It’s half an hour when suddenly he’s struck with the most violent attack yet. Coughing hard, he rolls over in the opposite direction to double over and try to stop the coughing and the pain it evoked. The taste of blood enters his mouth and he knows damage has been done from the harsh convulsions.

Coughing so much that his sides hurt, he starts to vomit as his body begins to work with the antidote at fighting the poison, ridding itself of all that might cause harm.

Wincing and unable to stop, Kyle curls up tighter. And for the first time, he feels a small amount of fear. “Misty…”

Mixture

*Angel can't help the that increases on her face and the beaming light from her eyes. This was finally happening and next week to boot.*

"I'll have to think on that one, but I think I'd like to decide together with you and not on my own. After all you have to come along too."

*A giggle escapes Angel's lips as she looks towards the cot where Jeff was and than back to Luke. Leaning in to kiss him again before pulling away and standing.*

"I better get going so Jeff can sleep, I'll see you in the morning sweetheart."

*Running a hand along the side of Luke's face Angel backs away to the door and disappears into the night returning to her own bunk and settling in a smile on her face as she falls asleep and dreams of the happy times to come.*

*Katie gives a nod as she listens to Jason. Everything he said about tomarrow made sence and it helped her feel better that they had a game plan. The last thing she wanted was for anyone of them to get hurt let along anyone in the crowd.*

"Sounds like a plan and I think getting together before would be a good idea. I want everyone on the same page going into this thing so there are no miss understandings and someone gets hurt."

*Katie finishs up her meal with Jason giving a small burp afterwards. Katie stands and makes her way to the door. Tonight had been a pretty goodnight. Dispite the awkwardness for a moment and the feelings Katie new Jason was hidding everything had gone good.

Heading twords her car Katie gets in and pulls out of the driveway throwing a wave to Jason as she disapreaded down the driveway. Receving Jason's emotional message Katie sends her own smile back and reply Ditto.

Before long she is heading down the road and pulling into Jen driveway ready to spend another night with her and her family.*

*Misty works dillagently around the clock. The house ticking by...going from blood samples under a mycroscope to print outs back to the blood samples. Trying not to clink vials Misty mixes differnt mixtures together and puting them with the blood samples and than back to mixing, throwing the old ones away. The hours continue to slip away and time does not seem to be on Misty's side. Hearing Kyle go into a coughing fit Misty shakes her head and she trys to work a little faster but with great care.*

"Hold in there Kyle, hold in there."

*As Misty warms up she removes her top shirt leaving her in a just a tank top as she continues to work. A million things run through Misty's mind and being tired is not just thought of. Saving Kyle is what drove Misty on.

More hours pass, and time continues to fly as Misty's once again heads back to the blood samples. Injecting some of the new formaula into the blood sample Misty waits as she looks into the myrascope. As she continues to watch a smile spreads across her lips as the mixture attachs the poison in the blood.

Standing quickly Misty goes to where Rick was keeping the healing agent. Taking it she goes back to her mixture and adds a few things also mixing in the healing agent as well.

Taking a saring Misty fills it with the antidote and walks over to Kyle puting on some gloves and taking a band. Closing her eyes for a moment Misty can only hope this will with. She had been up all night it was now 5 am. This was there last hope.

Gently shaking Kyle Misty smiles down at him running a free hand over his face.*

"I got it Kyle, I got the cure. Your gonna be ok..."

*Finally the tiredness catching up with her, her emotions double. As a few tears slip from her eyes.*

"...your gonna be ok. You have to be Kyle."

*Gently putting the band around his arm Misty finds his vain. Sticking the needle into his arm she injects the antidot than removes the band putting a bandage over the small pick mark.

Throwing away the needle Misty grats a washcloth and gets it cold. Returning to Kyle Misty places the cloth over his head to cool him down.

Bending down she press her lips to his before sitting back down in the chair next to Kyle. Resting her hand on his hand and her head on the side of the bed all Misty could do was wait, and keep Kyle as comfortable as she could.*

Midnight

Luke's voice is low and soft as he runs his fingers through Angel's hair. "Then next week it is. You better tell people around here you're gonna be gone for a week after that too." His smile is just visible in the dark. "You get to pick where we go."

Jason regains whatever control he can and lets Katie help him back up so he can sit on the couch again. Focusing on supper, he reverts his thoughts to food, then to tomorrow night as Katie shifts the conversation.

"Having those guys sounds great. I'll feel a little funny not being on that team, but obviously I have to be up on stage." He laughs a little. "At least I'll have a good view, and you and I won't even need mics." He grins, taking another bite of his sandwich. "I'll want to have a quick get together before the show though...this is a family night we're playing at, so there's going to be kids there. We need to make sure that if anything does go down that we do our best no only to do it quietly, but make sure no body gets hurt." He thinks for a moment. "If I think about it, tomorrow when I go in to work I'll go down to the supply room and grab some firearms and silencers. You all are good enough that you could take someone down without the audience even knowing about it."

Talk is kept fairly light after that, and it doesn't take long to finish supper. Once cleaned up and trash thrown away, Jason walks Katie to the door, going out on the porch with her. He leans on the railing as she heads down the walk. "Guess I'll see you tomorrow afternoon then." He was going in to work, but he knew that she'd be in church in the morning. "Thanks for supper..."

Watching for just a moment, he turns to head back inside. Once the door is shut, he leans against it, closing his eyes and letting out a long sigh. The thoughts and feelings that came to mind, he didn't let out in the open. But suddenly the future was foggy all over again. He just needed to forget about the brief awkwardness tonight...he just needed to move past it and shrug it off. It had meant nothing...though Katie's feelings still lingered in the back of his mind. She had missed him...

Shaking his head, Jason heads to the living room. He would forget. Thanks for just being you, Katie. I couldn't ask for a better friend.

Kyle watches Misty for a moment as she goes back to work, and lets a little sigh escape. Moving around, he lays back on the bed, kicking his shoes off to put his feet up too. Stretched out, he just stares at the ceiling tiles, his mind at work counting them, thinking about tomorrow, praying, thinking about Misty, and thinking about his family.

His eyes start to drift shut...he was so tired...

Midnight. Kyle is woken up coughing. Trying to get himself back under control, he rolls onto his side, trying also to figure out where he was. With each cough, it hurt more, his eyes tearing up as it feels as though his throat and lungs were on fire.

Making out the lights and Misty's figure across the room, he finally remembers where he is.

Groping for the cup of water on the bedside table, his coughing jars his hand and he knocks it off onto the floor. Giving up, he just doubles up tighter on his side, trying to stop the coughing on his own.

Throw

*As Katie rests for a moment, she can feel the strain Jason is going through those she cant feel the emotions. Trying to calm her ownself down...her racing heart slows. Looking down as Jason and seeing the hint of lonlyness in his eyes Katie cocks her head and smiles giving a playful tap to his noise.*

"Pst....When have you ever seen me leave Burger King food uneaten?"

*Using the table and the coutch edge to get herself up off the ground Katie stands at Jason's feet and holds her arms out to him to help him up.*

"Oh course I will stay and finish eating with you."

*After helping Jason up Katie sits back down on the coutch and pops a french fry into her mouth. Looking down at the tomato that layed on the wrapper Katie shakes her head and grabs it throwing it to the waiting Trooper and gives a laugh before turning back to Jason and smiling.*

"I've got all the sacurity for tomarrow taken care of. Con and Wyatt said they would be coming, along with Nate. So we should be good. We've got the best of the best looking out for you guys."

As Katie’s lips move past Jason’s and her face rests against his, his innermost being is stretched to the limit. Withholding the one emotion that he had kept locked tightly away from Katie was pounding at the door, screaming to be let out. But he would not let it. No, he could not…he would not.

Knowing how she felt, feeling the shift in emotions and understanding them makes it all the harder and he closes his eyes for a moment, his heart seeming to beat a hundred miles an hour. No…not like this.

Keeping any thoughts from drifting to Katie was like trying to hold back the tide, but somehow he pulls it off, though it saps much of his physical strength, and he can feel himself start to almost go numb.

Mustering up the energy to respond and to draw out all the positive emotions he can, he manages a short laugh. “Yes, you better…or else Trooper is going to have the rest of our supper.”

Reaching around to lift Katie’s head back up, he looks her in the eye, his own twinkling, but at the same time begging her. “But you will stay to finish eating…won’t you?”

Slip

*Katie smile prosiest on her face as Jason runs his finger down her noise.*

"Well I guess your my Hero this time for getting the left overs that was on my face."

*As Katie goes to her up, she feels a sudden surge of an emotion than is suddenly snuffed out quickly. Looking down as Jason her eyes search his, falling into there mysterious gaze that lasted a life time. Suddenly an emotion, one that Katie had worked so hard to bury rises again. Shifting just a little bit Katie moves her weaght off Jason so he can breath. Leaning her head down Katie brings her face close to Jason's once again. Her lips inches from his, her emotions, her heart racing, her breath reflecting off his skin, but insted of her lips kiss Jason something stops her and they brush the side of his cheek as she just rests her face aganst his fighting her urge to kiss, the lips she once held as her own. Whisperng softly as her mind sends out a differnt emotions saying How I've missed this, and you. An emotion she dident mean to let free but let slip.*

"I...better get going."

Lid

As Trooper joins the mix and Katie tries to fend him off, Jason keeps laughing and struggles to right himself, but has difficulties. Before he can sit up, all of a sudden, Katie is tumbling toward him and landing right on top of him.

The wind is knocked out of him as an elbow hits his gut, and he tries to catch his breath, face to face with Katie.

Hearing her line about the temperature, he holds in his laughter. “You’re telling me.”

Managing to free one arm, be brings a hand up to her face, running his thumb over her nose. “You missed a spot.”

In an instant, a chill runs down Jason’s spine, and he immediately puts a lid on his emotions.

Looking up at Katie, he swallows hard, then forces his grin to return. “You realize that if you don’t move, I’m stuck down here. Not to mention you’re cutting off my air supply.”

Weather

*Laughing uncontrollable Katie looks down on the ground at Jason giving a little wave.*

"Hows the weather down there?"

*As the coutch shakes from the big dog Katie looks up only to receve licks to the face. Trying to fend Trooper off Katie trys to stand but slips at the big dog goes to jump on her. Fall back on the coutch she hits the edge and rolls over landing right on top of Jason and coming face to face with him only inches away. Katie's eyes lock with Jason for a moment and an uncontrollable feeling washes over her.*

"The weather is a little hot down here if I do say so."

Fall

Finally letting a grin slip, Jason receives Katie’s message loud and clear, but relaxes anyway, sure that the war has ended.

But before he even has time to pick his burger back up again, Katie has pinned him down, her fingers to his ribs.

Letting out a shriek, Jason’s laughter finally breaks forth as he squirms and tries to fend Katie off. “Not the ribs, not the ribs!” He can’t help laughing though, and gasps for air, his face getting red.

Shifting his weight he gets a leg up under Katie and attempts to shoot her to the other side of the couch, but his movement backfires. The cushion slides and before he can even react, he’s on the floor on his back, wedged between the coffee table and the couch.

Hearing the ruckus, Trooper comes bounding down the hall, giving a short bark. In one leap, he’s up on the couch with Katie, shaking the entire seat like an earthquake, his tail wagging as he begs to be a part of this fun.

Taunt

*As the cold tomato goes down the back of Katie’s shirt the cold chill shoots through her, she lets out a gasp and her laughing suddenly stop though her eyes still sparkle.*

“Holy cow that’s cold.”

*Try told hold her face straight Katie reaches up the back of her shirt for the tomato and her emotions starts to run relaying a message to Jason. You’re a dead man you know that. And the ending is laced with a laugh the tone joking.

Once removing the tomato Katie sets it down on the paper and stands. Shaking her head she goes to turn as if to walk away. Going behind the back of the coutch she makes a swift movment and jumps over it landing right next to Jason and pinning him down her fingers making here way to his side as once again her laughter rings out as she watches Jason squrm.*

"Now what are you gonna do.."

*She taunts.*

Tomato

Jason’s eyes widen as the tomato hits him and he pauses, his burger still in his hand. Turning his head slowly, he’s having a hard time not smiling, gritting his teeth to keep the laughter in.

Reaching up with one hand, he takes the slimy tomato of his neck and wipes the slime and seeds off with the back of his hand.

Seeing Katie in a laughing fit, he sets his sandwich down, and reaches over, so nonchalantly, then too quickly to stop. Fast as anything, suddenly the tomato slice is sliding down the back of Katie’s shirt, and Jason has scooted to the far end of the couch, ready to defend himself.

“I think you got a veggie down your shirt,” he points out, his face reddening as it’s getting harder to keep from laughing.

Little Brat

*As Jason goes to swips Katie's noise she trys to duck but her reflexs are to late and gets it in the noise. Just sitting there for a moment Katie purces her lips almost stunned. Finally though a smile breaks through.*

"Why you little brat..."

*Looking cross eyed for a moment Katie stairs at the mixture on her nose and shakes her head. Taking the napkin Katie goes to wipe the condiment off her nose when she stops for a second and gets a mischievous look in her eye and a deviate grin on her lips. Reaching over to her burger wrapper Katie whipes her nose with the napkin and grabs the tomato from the paper not aiming but throwing it as Jason hearing it hit him with a splat. Looking over Katie cant help but bust out laughing as she see the tomato stuck to Jason's neck. What starts out as a small laugh soon turns into a roaring laughter.*

"J....J..you...*gasps for air* should see how funny you look...."

...

Jason grins and starts to take a bite of his burger, but as Katie nudges him, his fingers tighten and sauce spills out, dripping onto the table.

Turning his head, he gives her a sidelong glance and a smirk. Looking down, he shakes his head. "Keep this up and you'll never fly."

He reaches down to wipe up the sauce with his finger and without giving any time for defense, he's suddenly swiped Katie's nose with it, leaving the catchup and mayo mixture on her face.

Without even cracking a smile, Jason reaches for a napkin. "I think you need this."

9/1/08

Finally

*Katie smiles and enters the house putting the food down on the living room table and snuggling into Jason's couch. Jason's house was nice this was her find time actually inside but it was nice and had a comfy atmosphere to it.

Grabbing a fry for herself Katie gives a short laugh at Jason. It felt good to be able to sit with her friend again and feel comfortable. It was something she had missed.*

"Yeah maybe I am, but once a Hero always a Hero. You just can't get away. By the way did you ever find out when I am going to be able to fly?"

*Katie can't help the sly grin that forms on her lips and she takes a bit of a burger and than nudges Jason with her shoulder playfully*

*Misty smiles at Kyle thankful for his understanding and amazed at how he still had a smile on his face. It was so strange to see someone be given bad new and still hold a smile on there face. Misty admired that about Kyle, She really did.*

"Well, I wont work to hard but I will be up till I find the antidote. I couldn't sleep if I tryed right now. It just wouldn't be passable even if I tryed."

*Misty offers another smile to Kyle and stands.*

"Well you better get some sleep. I'll keep the light low for you. If you need anything just yell."

*Misty runs a hand under Kyle's chin before starting to turn and leave. If she got to work now, maybe she would find the answer before church in the morning.*

*Angel smiles as Luke pulls away and than comes in for another kiss. Pure bliss is what she felt in the moment. It seemed one happy even after another and more to come. Though the war was far from over, the happyness that they all had longed for, for a while was finally making itself know. They were finally standing up to the Agency and showing them they could not bring them down. If anything was going to hurt them, this would the most. Pulling away from the kiss Angel's eyes shine in the light as they look deep into Luke's own.*

"Today, tomarrow, next week, a month from now....it dosn't matter to me as long as I am getting married to you Luke. As long as I finally can call myself your wife."

*Her face lit up like a million candles when she spoke those words. That word she had ment, the words she had wanted to say for a long time.*

It's yours

Jason is plodding halfway through his meager and not-so-tasty supper, when the knock at the door startles him. Who would be here? He’d talked to all his friends today…and no one ever stopped by unannounced.

Getting up from the couch and setting his food down, he limps barefoot through the kitchen, but pauses at the counter. Katie. What was she doing here? Was she alone? Was everything okay?

Swinging the door open and hearing her greeting, a smile spreads on his face. He folds his arms across his chest and cocks his head. “You weren’t supposed to be eavesdropping on my evening.” His statement is laced with humor, and though halfway chiding, the pleasure shows in his eyes.

He opens the door wider. “But I’m not saying no to real food, and I’m certainly not saying no to the company.”

Jason leads the way back into the living room where he picks up his former supper and goes to deposit it into a very happy Trooper’s bowl. Getting back to the couch, he eases down and nods for Katie to join him, using the coffee table for the food. He mutes the television, tired of the movie anyway.

Snatching a french-fry, he grins. “Mmm…much better than an overcooked piece of something they claim to be meat.”

Drawing one leg up on the couch to tuck a foot between the cushions, he starts the meal with Katie, happy to have the company at least for a little while. “You realize you’re taking the role of “hero” way to seriously.” He grins. “But I’m not going to complain.”

Bret smiles back at Charlotte, his eyes following her as she goes to her car and backs out of the driveway. Sighing a little, he finally gets out too, locking his car and heading to the porch.

Instead of going inside, he sits down on the swing for a few minutes, the chilly breeze running through his hair. He liked spending time with Charlotte…she was a bright spot in his life. She gave him something to look forward to…something to keep his mind busy. She was special…and she was becoming more special to him.

Having a woman in his life again was something Bret hadn’t really intended. After the first failure and the divorce, he’d decided he wasn’t going to try it again. Charlotte though…she was different. But what were Bret’s intentions? Was he thinking long term or was she just satisfying his need for friendship?

Giving another sigh, Bret finally stands up and heads for the door. His thoughts would still be there in the morning. Tonight he was going to sleep.

Reaching the door handle, he suddenly notices a paper stuck in the door. Furrowing his brow, he takes it out and unfolds it. Scanning the scribbled note, his confusion turns to ire. Crumpling up the paper, he tosses it out into the grass where the wind carried it away.

Getting inside and turning on the lights, Bret double checks the locked doors before going to bed. So much for a restful night.

As Misty starts to tell Kyle what’s really going on, a chill runs down his spine. Swallowing hard, he just listens, without jumping to conclusions. Taking in the information and hearing Misty’s apology, his eyes slowly drift to his hands that are still in his lap.

He did wish she would have told him sooner…though he had had his suspicions already. Just the way Rick had talked to her, and the worry in her eyes all day, he’d suspected there was more. He just hadn’t wanted to ask, almost afraid to know the answer.

Part of him was upset for not having known…part of him was glad he’d been able to enjoy the day without the worry. This was serious though. If he still had this poison in his system…it could not only ruin his voice permanently, but it could kill him.

Taking a deep breath, he closes his eyes for just a moment. He’d never been close to death, but he was not afraid. Lord, give me strength.

Slowly he looks back up at Misty, a warm smile making its way across his face. Reaching up with his good hand, he takes a finger to trace above her eye, down across her cheek, then under her chin, where he gives her a tap before letting his hand drop again. “There’s nothing to forgive,” he whispers hoarsely. “But don’t work too hard tonight…you’ll keep me up.”

His grin remaining, he winks at her. His face is one of peace, his eyes those of concern but not worry for he had no fear. There would be disappointment if there was permanent damage, but he would deal with it as it came. There would be pain if he were to die, but he had too much to gain to fear that. And there was too good of a chance that Misty would find the right antidote for him to sit around and worry.

I’ll have to keep you awake tomorrow in church,” he teases quietly. “Then it will be a nice pot of black coffee before you sing tomorrow night.”

Coughing for a moment, he shakes his head and looks back at Misty, serious again. “I’m not scared…you shouldn’t be either.”

Not having been asleep, Luke’s eyes fly open as someone enters the darkened bunk. He doesn’t have to see who it is though, to know.

As Angel takes him in the passionate embrace, he draws himself up on one arm. His other hand cradles the side of her face as he gently returns her kiss, his fingers making their way to the back of her head as he gets lost in the moment.

Jeff quirks a sleepy eyebrow from the other bed, just able to see the silhouettes of Luke and Angel and what was going on. Sighing, he pulls his blanket up further and rolls over in the other direction in slight annoyance. A grin surfaces though. Luke had talked with him earlier…he was happy for them.

Luke finally draws away, just able to see Angel’s eyes as the light from another porch light reflects off of them. He returns for another kiss, proving his own passion before ending the exchange.

A soft smile creases his lips as he looks at Angel, his hand caressing her cheek. “Name the day,” he whispers. “And it’s yours.”

Getting into the infermary and seeing Kyle sit down as if waiting to be told what to do Misty continplates in her head a few things. She new she should tell Kyle what was going on, he'd be wondering anyways when he dident see her go to bed. But she dident want him to worry, but Misty new it was his right to know. Coming over to Kyle and sitting down next to him Misty lets out a long sigh looking at her hands than back at Kyle.*

"Kyle, I...I probley wont be sleeping tonight. There is more to your condition that Rick had told me this morning that I havent told you."

*Misty draws silent for a moment not sure how Kyle will take the new, or if he will be upset with her or not.*

"I won't be sleeping tonight because my whole night will devoted to finding another antidote for you. It seems that the modified verson of the poison is still runing through your system and insted of getting better your geting worse. But I know I can find you a cure. I did before I can do it again Kyle. I wont give up and I wont let you give up eather."

*Misty looks down at the ground again before looking back at Kyle dead in the eyes.*

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner Kyle I just didn't want you to worry or lose hope. I guess I was trying to save you from the pain of knowing this all. Can you forgive me for keeping it to you."

*Entering into her bedroom after checking on Cindy, Kaylee and Wes for the night she was tired. It had been a long day but a well worth having. New life came into this word by the grace of God and it was moment like this that reminded Angel even more how amazing God was.

As her eyes land on the item on her bed and reads the letter a smile cross her lips. This was a long time coming. She had been pasent and now...now it was real.

Not even saying a word Angel exits the office and hops off the steps making her way across the lawn and up to Luke's bunk. Not even knocking Angel throws the door open and enters. Seeing Luke laying on his bed Angel goes over to him and throws her arms around his neck and brings her lips to his letter her passion show though and giving Luke his answer with out any words and her hand gently rubs his back.*

Love

Carson looks away at Jess’s question, for a moment before he looks at her again. “My sister and I used to be close, but…distance and time have a way of separating people.”

Encouraging just a little small talk to ease both their minds, Carson sticks around for a while before he stands up again. “I should go…I promised Herb I’d help close up tonight.”

He turns to leave, one hand on the doorknob, but pauses to see Jess again. “If you need anything…call Mom and Pop’s, alright? I’ll answer the phone. …Goodnight.”

Slipping out into the hall, he makes sure no one is around before making his way to the exit. Again he passes by the infirmary, willing himself not to stop. He shouldn’t take any more time anyway…he’d told Herb where he was going, but wanted to be back within a reasonable amount of time so as not to create any questions of his whereabouts.

Kyle hears Misty come back into the room, and looks around, seeing her go to her desk. He gives a little sigh and finally goes to get his notepad and pencil, flopping down on his stomach on the bed, jotting down words. He knew it would be a while before she was free. It was okay with him…he wasn’t so sure that supper sounded all that great right now anyway.

Bret pulls into his driveway and parks, shutting the engine off. It was dark now, though only a few stars had started to show themselves. Bret pulls out the keys and fingers them for a moment before looking over to Charlotte. “Well…another day bites the dust.”

A grin surfaces. “It lived a good life though…at least from my perspective.”

Bret lifts a hand to softly brush Charlotte’s cheek with the back of his fingers. “And I have you to thank for that.”

Jason flops down on his couch, flipping the television on. He props his knee up with an extra pillow, and situations himself with his warmed-up tv dinner for supper. Stabbing the overdone meat with a fork, he grimaces a little.

Trooper sits down and stares at him, starting to drool.

“After I taste this you might just get it,” Jason remarks. “But for now, don’t make me watch you drool.”

Trooper lowers his head and slides down onto the floor, heaving a sigh.

“Thank you.” Jason flips channels on the television, landing on some movie that he really wasn’t even interested in, but watches anyway.

It had been a tossup tonight between staying at work late or coming home. Neither one had been appealing. He’d spent a little time before coming home on the phone with Phil and Mike, then had stopped in to see Kyle and Misty to finalize plans for the next night. Now that he was home though, it was the same old routine. He’d eat the same tasteless food, watch the same television, then fall asleep on the couch before picking himself up about midnight to crawl into bed.

Kyle holds in another cough as he and Misty make it back to the infirmary. Supper had been fun, down at the diner, though Kyle hadn’t eaten much. Not wanting Misty to question him too much though, he’d laid on his antics to make her smile and laugh as much as any time, grinning all the while.

Now that it was evening, he was getting tired, and knew he should sleep, but he didn’t want to this early. There was so much already spinning around inside his head that he didn’t want to leave it to dreams.

Just sitting on the edge of the bed, he gives a little sigh and waits for further instructions. He didn’t know if Misty would be working late, if she’d stay up with him, or if she’d grab the cot in the corner.

Just as the sun is sinking low and the ranch is settling down, those tired make their ways to bed, to rest, to sleep, to prepare for a new day.
While new mother and father rest together in bliss, others also rest their weary heads on pillows to give themselves up to dreams until the morning.

And in one small house where Angel was, something new had appeared on her bed, placed there by hands not seen.

A bouquet of flowers rested on her pillow, tied with a purple ribbon. A note was laid out beside it, handwritten by the one that loved her so much.

For you, from me, just to say I love you. Reminded not to take your love for granted, I give you this gift…and I give you me. Through thick and thin and for better or worse…I can no longer face the world alone. Be with me before our time is up so I will not waste one more day wishing for the heaven on earth I see in your eyes. I have put off too long, that which I want most to do. I love you. Marry me?

Pain

*Misty picks up the print out and looks over it. Listening to Rick in the background Misty's eyes rome the paper taking in the information forming answered and questions in her head. Finally Misty looks up from the paper and gives a nod to Rick.*

"I'll be working on the antidote tonight. I figured that Kyle should sleep tonight...."

*Misty stops for a moment as her eyes rome to the other room as Kyle goes into a coughing fit again her eyes showing they held much emotion.*

"...here because of that cough I could keep an eye on him. I figured tonight over dinner I'll fill him in. I just didn't want him to worry to much right away, but I guess its his right to know."

*Misty sets the paper and runs a hand over her face for a moment.*

"Thanks for filling me in Rick."

*As Misty starts to walk away and hears Rick's comment Misty cant help but have her face turn red. Turning back to face Rick Misty can't help the smile that cross her lips. Before even relizing what she was say the words slip from her mouth.*

"I've spent how long behaving myself with Carson, I think I can handle it with Kyle too."

*Finally relizing what she said Misty's face grows a little redder but for a differnt reason. Giving a shake to her head Misty turns again and heads back over to her desk.*

*Jess sucks on the straw continuing to drink the Milkshake not wanting to addmit it did tast good even though her stomach churnned as it entered.*

"You really are close to your sister?"

*Jess searchs Carson's own face seeing that much layed behind his eyes. Much more than was told.

Even though Carson looked as though he was far off Jess though it was nice to still have someone in the room with her, someone she new. For the first time Jess felt safe having someone close by for now.

As Carson continues to talk about Milkshakes not curing all, and the wounds being to deep, Jess cant help but reflect on her own life for a moment. The pain she had suffered time and time again. The lonlyness that made her who she was today. The closed off feelings and emotions.*

"I guess sometimes, even when the wounds and tears are gone, the scars still remain. Maybe thats why we are ment to have friends in this crule, forsaken world."

*Jess lets out a long sigh as she leans her head aganst the wall. Friends...what was a friend. That word had no meaning to her. For she never had a true friend. Only people she hung out with and would turn there back on her in a heartbeat. No, no matter how alone she felt, thats how she was ment to walk in the world. Now more than ever, no one would look at her the same when they found out....She made her life and now she was walking the path and soon...she would be alone again, because in her life that is what was best. To save everyone alse from her pain.*

Bret can't help the warm feeling that spreads over him as Charlotte rests her head on him, her arm tucked around him. He moves his own arm from behind his head to wrap around her shoulders, unable to pretend he didn't like her here with him like this.

Her words bring a smile to his lips and he cocks his head to see her staring back at him. For a moment, he just lets his eyes meet hers, enjoying the silence rather than hating it. "Then I guess if we don't have indefinite, we have fifteen minutes."

Tightening his arm around her, he brings her closer to him, planting a kiss on her forehead before letting her rest back down on his chest again. His fingers gently run up and down her arm, his eyes closed again, hoping that the fifteen minutes lasted a long time.

Kyle grins as Misty pulls away, his eyes searching hers for just a moment. Biting his lower lip, he proves that he felt teased by the short kiss.

Flopping back on the bed, he waits, his fingers tapping on the mattress to a tune stuck in his head, while his eyes roam the ceiling.

Rick keeps his head down towards his papers and nods as Misty comes in. He gestures to a printout. "Did some research last night...came up with a mixture that when combined with your modified antidote, it should work as a healing agent."

In reality, Rick had been deep in prayer for wisdom and help with finding a solution for Kyle when the idea had struck him.

He turns in his chair, setting his pencil down and rubbing his tired eyes. "My hope is that we've caught this soon enough, that once you figure out the antidote, hopefully nothing will conflict with what's in this, and not only will the poison be stopped, but it will combat and heal the damage that has been done. Of course...that is if the damage hasn't been too severe already."

Hearing a cough from the other room, Rick's eyes show some worry. "I think it's already spread further than I would like to admit."

He gives a short sigh. "Anyway...I just thought you'd like to know about this so you can keep it in mind with your own research."

Rick turns back to his work, picking up his pencil again. "Oh...and Misty..." His voice is quiet, a tinge of teasing mixed with a light warning. "Will you and that young man behave yourselves or do I have to spend the night here too?"

Carson grins a little, backing up to the wall across from the bed and sliding down to sit on the floor, resting his arms on his knees. He knew Jess might not enjoy the cold treat as much as normal, but he was glad she was at least trying. "Oh...it was just a hunch."

For a moment, his eyes drift to nowhere in particular, a strange melancholy settling over him. Though a slight smile remains. "I learned a long time ago the power of a strawberry milkshake." A dry laugh escapes. "I could stop any of my little sister's tears with a hug and her favorite treat. Whether she'd scraped her knee or..." He stops for just a moment, the pain hitting him harder than he thought it would and he almost cringes. "...or she'd been mistreated, I figured out fast how to put her back on top of the world."

Carson's eyes settle on the floor. Dani's letters had stopped. He had figured by now she'd given up on him. Somehow that left a bitter taste in his mouth.

"I guess a milkshake can only cure so many things though...sometimes the wounds are too deep and the tears too strong to be thwarted by sugar and milk."

FYI

*Charlotte sits on the blanket next to Bret her arms wrapped around her knees as she looks out across the plane. How pretty the view was up here. As Bret leans back on the blanket Charlotte turns her head and just eyes Bret for a moment a smile curling on her lips.

Hearing Bret's comment Charlotte stretches her legs out in front of her and scoots closer to Bret laying down she leans her head on his chest as her arm wraps over his waist.*

"I think for once I don't need a coin to tell me I want to stay here for indefinitely as long as you were here too. The sad part is though, even if the coin landed tails we couldn't."

*Charlotte lifts her head from Bret's chest and looks at him one of her famous smile showing through.*

"Ok, thanks Rick."

*Hanging up the phone Angelica lets out a small sigh as she gathers up Jess file. Looking over the paper work once again Angelica gives herself time to come up with her game plan and her questions. She wanted to go into Jess knowing exacly what she wanted to say. This was hard enough on Jess as it was and she dident want to drag it out by fumbaling around with words. It was best to sit, pray, and know word for word what to say.*

*Misty comes back into the room where Kyle was and cant help but laugh as he talks to Rick. Seeing the boredum in his eyes Misty's own twinkles. Going over to him she puts a finger in his chin with some pressure and tilts his head to look at her. Smiling down at him her eyes sparkling she states.*

"If I can get my work done in an hour or so I will be able to spend time with you so you arnt bored."

*Misty cant help but giggle a little as she leans down and gives Kyle a small kiss the lingers for a moment before breaking away and walking twords the office. Turning to throw Kyle a wink before disapearing and walks up next to Rick.*

"Whats up?"

*Looking up as she hears Carson's voice a small smile spreads on Jess dull and weary face. swinning her legs around so they hang off the bed Jess takes the bag from Carson and gives a small nod. She wasent hungry or thirsty but she would take it anyways.*

"Thanks. Thanks for coming too. Its nice to see someone I know."

*Taking the shake out of the bag Jess puts the straw into the cut and takes a sip. Though she normaly liked anythink strawberry today it just wasent settaling right.*

"How did you know I liked strawberry?"

*Katie smiles and is happy that Jason liked the idea of going to Texas with her. She hadn't been in so long and she was started to get a little stressed at work. The time away would be nice. *

"Oh come now J, what kind of Hero would I be if I let something happend to you guys this weekend? Don't worry, I am gonna have the best of the best for sacurity. You guys will be ok."

*Giving Jason a reasuring smile Katie stands pating his arm one last time before making her way to the door and exiting.

After tomarrow planing the roadtrip would be fun but for now she had to stay focused at the task on hand.

Geting back to her cubicle Katie starts to type an email.*

Rick watches Jess leave and a silent prayer is lifted. No one should have to go through what she was. And it happened too many times...too many women were put in that position...too many times they were hurt. And the emotional scars were far worse than the physical ones.

Sighing, he turns back to his work, though picks up the phone first to call Angelica's office. "Angelica...Jess is ready to talk whenever you are. She's in her room...be gentle."

Kyle grimaces at Misty, but the twinkle in his eye proves his humor as she takes the bill. He mouths to her, "I'm paying for supper tonight."

Getting up, they pay and leave the restaurant, heading to Kyle and Phil's. Kyle is quick to gather a few things in his backpack, though he takes a little longer than planned, needing a short rest when he's alone in his room to catch his breath after another coughing fit. The red flag in the back of his mind goes up, but he tries to ignore it. He was fine...

Finished, he slings his bag over his shoulder and comes back out to the living room to find Misty and head on out once again, this time going to her place, then finally back to TJY. It's late afternoon by then, and Kyle sends Phil a message to let him know where he is, then follows Misty on in to the infirmary.

Tossing his bag in the corner, he flops down on the edge of the bed and looks around the room, boredom already lingering in the back of his eyes. He would stay here because he had a different goal in mind...but if it weren't for that, he knew he would have refused to stay here. It was just a little cough...why should Misty be so worried about him all of a sudden? Maybe he'd simply caught a cold.

Rick rolls his chair back from his desk far enough to see into the other room, and lifts his eyebrows. "Well hi there, Kyle."

Kyle gives a little wave and a smile.

"Anything wrong?"

Kyle thumbs to Misty and shrugs, rolling his eyes.

Rick thinks for a moment, wondering if Kyle would be wearing that smile if Misty had told him what they'd discovered. He opted not to say anything in case she hadn't yet. He respected her timing. "How's the voice?"

Kyle shakes his head and grimaces, but shrugs again. He holds out his hand and rotates it back and forth, showing Rick that it wasn't the worst, but it was iffy.

Rick nods. "Well, just take it easy." He calls a little louder. "Misty, if you need anything, call me. When you have a minute come in here too, I want to show you something." He rolls back to his desk again, out of sight.

Kyle sets his hands in his lap and sighs. This was going to be a long evening.

Bret lays back on the blanket, tucking his hands under his head and staring up at the clouds in the sky. The drive had been long, the trek had been harder than anticipated, and the trail had been longer than figured. But he and Charlotte had made it to the small plateau where the view was amazing.

After eating their picnic lunch of sandwiches, it was already late afternoon, but the desire to hike all the way back down just wasn't there yet.

Bret closes his eyes and takes a deep breath of the fresh air. It was chilly today and having a jacket on felt good, but the sun was warm. He was used to physical work, but being able to relax up here had made him tired and taken away the want to leave.

"Heads we go back down in fifteen minutes," he mumbles. "Tails we stay here indefinitely."

Jason's head shoots up at Katie's offer to go with him. The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them. "Would you?" His face reddens slightly. "I mean...the company sure would be nice and..." He stops, knowing that he needn't try and explain. Katie knew him too well to question his motives. "...and I guess I just don't want to go alone."

In a way, Jason felt the need of someone else's company. He hadn't felt that for a long time...he'd always been too proud to admit the need of someone else...too sure of himself to say that extra company would be nice. But he was finding that if he was truly honest with himself...being a loner wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

Katie's words to him made sense too. He knew his mom loved him no matter what...and though she might be disappointed, it wouldn't be in him. He'd just jumped on the wagon of sidling around the truth too quickly, and hadn't been able to get back off.

Giving a little weary grin, he shakes his head. "I guess you're still my hero, aren't you." He pauses, searching Katie's face. "Thanks. We can make plans after this harry weekend is over." He quickly changes the subject, his mind bouncing to the first obstacle that needed to be overcome. "I know Kyle wants this concert to go on as a trap for those goons, whether that's what he says or not, so if we live through it, we can make that trip to Texas. As far as tomorrow night goes...would you mind recruiting the security?"

Carson heads across the TJY parking lot, a small sack in his hand. The sun was starting to set, and he was banking on most of the people to be gone for the night. Stopping near the door though, he glances around and sees Misty's car. She was working late.

His shoulders drop a little. He didn't want another discussion like he'd had this morning. Maybe he could get away with just slipping in and out without even seeing her. It was worth a try anyway.

Getting inside, he receives a few strange looks from those still lingering on the main floor, but he heads straight down the hall toward the spare room. The infirmary door was open, but he passes by it, not even daring to pause or look inside.

Reaching the guest room, he taps lightly on the door. "Jess?" He knew she'd probably been miserable all day...he knew she'd probably eaten very little if anything...he knew she probably wouldn't be hungry for supper. But he'd wanted to check on her. It was the least he could do, not to mention it gave him something to do other than sit alone at Mom and Pop's.

The paper sack crinkles in his grip. "I got a strawberry milkshake here with your name on it."

O.O

*Misty smiles and nods back*

"Not a problem we can stop by your place when we are done here."

*Misty trys to keep herself calm with Kyle's condition maybe later tonight she would tell him, but at this moment he didn't need to know. Misty wanted to keep him from worrying as much as she could. She was doing enough of that for the both of them.*

"Than we can stop by my place and I can get something for tomarrow as well."

*Standing and taking the bill before Kyle can a grin curles on her lips and heads to the front.*

"My turn to pay."

*Jess looks at Rick and gives a small nod but dosn't say much. It was easy said than done to stay looking twords the bright side. To her right now, there was no brightside. She had been down and out before, but this was lower than low for her and there was nothing she could do to change it. Even after Peter was behind bars the pain wouldn't go away that easly. Though Jess couldn't deni that the people in this place were differnt.*

"Th...thank you. I guess for a little bit I'll just stay here."

*Jess stands and heads to the door but stops and turns again looking at Rick. Trying to offer the best smile she can.*

"If you see Miss. Lockheart let her know I am ready when she is."

*Turning and making her way for the door again Jess walks slowly and heads back to the small room. For now that was her home, for now that was her fortress, for this was her nightmare and her safe haven. Rick had said she could cry, how Jess wish right now she could and though the tears were there they just wouldn't come out.*

*Katie sits down in the chair across from Jason's desk and takes the email from his hand. Scanning over it Katie gets the point of what Jason was saying and lets out a sigh. In a way she felt bad for Jason.*

"You didn't tell her because you wanted her to be proud of you, and because this didn't work out you think she will be disapointed. "

*Katie reaches her hand out and lays it on Jason's arm as he leans his head into them.*

"J, you should know by now your mom loves you no matter what. Yeah she is going to be sad your not geting married but she wont be disapointed in you J."

*Katie offers him a smile.*

"You need to tell her, she is you mom and she loves you. Just because there are new people in the picture dosn't make that love any less eather. If anything it makes it more. She has the family she always wanted and your part of it."

*Katie thinks for a moment as a plan forms in her head. She hadent been home in a while. Maybe...*

"Ya know J, if you dont feel like going alone I would be more than happy to. I would like to see Kaylee and just see home. I miss it."

The truth

Kyle raises his eyebrows at Misty’s ultimatum. His eyes narrow slightly, not liking the worry in her tone. His mind drifts back to seeing her and Rick talking quietly and he begins to wonder if there was something he didn’t know about. It’s a thought that evokes slight fear, but he swallows it, clinging to faith instead. He was going to trust Misty to tell him anything he needed to know.

A smile creeps across his face as he locks eyes with her in a daring gaze. It would be well-worth the stay at the infirmary if it would provide him an opportunity to get his foot in the door to spiritual matters.

He gives her a nod. It was agreed. He gestures to her though, letting her know that he’d need to go home sometime today to get a change of clothes for the morning.

His beeping phone startles him and he rolls his eyes, picking it up and reading the text message. He gets a wry grin on his face and shows Misty the message. It’s from Mike this time.

Have it ur way. Ur bro is ticked. But its a go. Tmw night. Setup at four. Jase will recruit security.

Kyle shakes his head in amusement. Sometimes his stubbornness paid off…sometimes.

After coughing a little, he waves to the waiter to come bring the bill.

Rick greets Jess warmly, knowing that she must feel like crap, but trying his hardest to ease the pain and stress. “You can sit right over here on the table. I just want to have a follow-up check-up on you to make sure everything is okay.”

Checking her over lightly, Rick gives a nod of satisfaction. “You’re going to be okay physically, Jess. I got some results back yesterday after your original examination, and you’ll be fine. You just need some rest and time for your body to heal.”

He leans casually on the table next to Jess, eying her with thoughtful sympathy. "The only thing I worry about is in here." He reaches over and taps over her heart. "I want you to know that there are people here who can help with that too. Any time you want to talk...need a shoulder...need a good cry, or just want to sit with someone...we're here for you."

He pauses for a moment. "You're not alone, Jess."

Nodding, he moves to put some of his things away. "Angelica Lockheart is the lawyer here. She's been given the information on your case, and has all of the information from me she needs. When you're ready, she'll want to sit down and talk with you to explain how the rest of this will go. In the meantime...you can stay here if you want. Or we can even find another place for you to stay. Or you can go home. It's completely up to you. We want you to feel the most comfortable."

As Katie makes her presence known in Jason's office, he can't help a little grin. It felt odd to be called a brother. He could remember when he'd been little, he'd always wanted a sibling. It seemed strange now that he was an adult to finally have that honor. It was a bit different, obviously, but it still there.

"Hey. I guess it's my mom and Wes who the congratulations go to."

Jason shakes his head a little and gestures to his extra chair. "Yeah, um..." His eyes drop, knowing that he couldn't, and shouldn't hide this. After taking a few minutes to regroup, he finally reaches over to where he'd printed out the latest email from his mom. Handing it to Katie, he lets her read it, knowing that she'll realize what had happened by the way his mom was talking.

When he sees Katie is finished reading, he leans back in his chair, letting out a long sigh. "I don't know why I didn't tell her anything, Katie...I just...I don't know."

Leaning forward instead, he buries his face in his arms on his desk, his voice muffled. "And now I have to go see her...and the baby...and I don't know how."

Big Brother

All Wes can think about doing is letting his wife and new baby sleep. They were so small, so comfortable, they both looked so peaceful. Wes could never ask for anything more or even think about wanting more. God had answered his prayers over and over again making him happy and content. Letting both mother and daughter sleep Wes keeps a watchful eye over them both making sure they both would be ok.

*Misty smiles to Kyle across the table as he signs.*

"Yeah that would be cool, but something tells me at times they don't think so. Those two certinly have a special gift thats for sure."

*Misty watches Kyle closely as he dosn't want anything alse to eat and his cough continues. Misty knows what its from and on the outside she might be fine but on the inside it was killing her to see Kyle like this. Is scaired her to think he could go home sleep and she might not even get to see him again. Letting out a sigh Misty is a bit saprised when Kyle asks her to church. She hadent been in so long, did she really want to start going again? She new who god was, and she believed he was there but she had lost touch. When one thing after another happend, she blamed God and now, she had blamed him so much suraly he wouldent look past her flats now. As she is about to reply and think of a reson not to go, something stricks her...maybe...*

"I'll go to church with you tomarrow Kyle if you sleep at the infermary again tonight so I can keep an eye on you. I don't like that cough."

*Jess rolls back over on her side facing the wall as Rick talks. Not saying anything. Her mind was moving to much to talk, her hurt to much to talk, and she felt to depressed to talk or even move. Once Rick leaves Jess just stairs at the wall for a long while. Her life had been turned around and upside down and now she was stuck in a place she dident even know. She had decied she wanted to change somethings about her life but this is not what she exspected. Not to mention now she was probley jobless and if she wasent she dident want to go back there and face Sean and Velvet.

Throwing the sheets back Jess swings her legs out of the bed and just sits on the edge for a long moment. Finally standing Jess exits the room her bear feet scuffing on the floor. Slowly making her way to the infermary she knocks on the door and opens it.*

"Ok, I'm here where do you need me?"

*As Katie sits at her cubicle she thumbs through some paperwork Jamie had given her. Most of the stuff was old cases they had worked on in the past that had never been put into the computer. So now it was her job to do so.

As she sits at her desk she is suddonly slowly hit with waves of emotions. Happyness, mixed with sadness and a bit of depression. Looking twords Jason's office Katie is confused for a moment than receving his message a smile spreads across her lips. But still something felt wrong.

Ok..I'll be right there.

Turning her computer screen off Katie stands and heads to Jason's office. Knocking and than poking her head in Katie offers hims a smile.*

"Congradulations Big Brother!!! You wanted to talk to me?"

Emotions

Cindy just smiles, giving a soft sigh. She was so happy...so excited...so many things were running through her mind. There were so many things to do. But right now.... Her eyes start to drift shut. Right now.... her head sways a little to rest against Wes. Right now all she wanted.... Her hand nestles comfortably in his. All she wanted was sleep.

Kyle grimaces and waves Misty off, but obeys anyway. It hurt to talk right now anyway. He had just wanted to say his piece without the trouble of writing things down or trying to sign.

Looking down at his half-eaten plate, he decides he really doesn't want any more. He usually liked eating here...he never left food on his plate. But something just didn't feel right. He simply wasn't hungry, and the thought of eating more almost made his stomach turn. He was tired too and wasn't sure why, after the long night of sleep he'd gotten.

A grin creases his lips and he mouths and signs to Misty, getting across, "I wish I could talk to you like Jason does to Katie...then this would be easier." He shakes his head in amusement.

Just sitting and trying to relax a little, the scratch in his throat persists, bringing more coughing, though he tries to stifle it. Finally he changes subjects altogether, proving his mind had been bouncing around several different subjects. He scribbles on a napkin. "Join me for church tomorrow?"

Rick offers Jess a warm smile. "I know you're tired, but I want you to get up and come on over to the infirmary just for a few minutes. I want to give you a quick checkup today and I want you to at least drink something even if you're not hungry, okay?"

He stands up, ready to leave the room. "And I need to talk with you about some results I got this morning."

Rick turns, heading for the door. "Take your time."

Jason hangs up the phone and leans back in his chair. Trooper can sense his anxiety and comes over to rest his head on his lap. Jason absentmindedly scratches the dog's head. He felt...happy...excited...apprehensive. The news was good. Everyone was fine. He'd been hoping for that. The news was exciting. Yet at the same time, it also meant that Jason needed to take a trip to Texas...and with that, came the truth that he had not been sharing with his mother.

Giving a little sigh, Jason isn't sure what to do with his feelings. He felt boxed in...he just didn't know what to do. When did he need to go? Right away? In a few weeks? Could he take that time off work? Could he afford the trip?

Excuses started to seep into his mind that might keep him from going. But there was enough of him that really wanted to go...that longed to go, that he knew he would...it was just when that was the question and how.

Jason grins a little, letting the news sink in. He was a big brother. That in itself was as new sensation. And there was one person he could share that with, without feeling stupid.

Hey, it's a girl. Kaylee.

But even though he tries to convey pure happiness, he knew that his apprehensiveness would show through too if Katie was paying attention. He needed help...he needed to tell someone what was going on...he couldn't decide what to do on his own with this one, he'd dug his hole too deep.

When you're free...come talk?
