Carson grabs a chair in the kitchen and sinks down, taking a quick break after the lunch rush. Eating a bite of spaghetti, he reaches up to his jacket that was hanging on a hook. He'd heard his cell phone ringing a while ago, but hadn't had time to stop and check it.
Flipping it open, he sees a voice mail and listens to it, a grin spreading on his face. Hitting his speed dial, he calls Misty's direct line into the TJY infirmary. Taking another mouthful, he has to swallow before he can reply to her answer. "Nope, I'm not working late, and yes, I'd love to spend the evening with you. Come to think of it... I know a guy who can make any kind of specialty pizza you want."
He twirls his fork around in his spaghetti. "Tell me what you're hungry for and what time you'll be here and... it's a date."
Axel tries to give Jess enough room without making it look as though he were trying to avoid her, or slide off the booth. Keeping one eye on her, he makes sure she's comfortable enough to let things roll as they were.
Though his own invitation was overcome by Rocky's, Axel gives Jess a little nod and grin when she accepts. He was glad she'd try to come at least. "Come early and you can help us set up... you can hear JetStream too."
"Oh yeah, they're great," Taylor adds.
At Jess' question to Rocky, he peeks over his menu at her, his eyes narrowing slightly to prove that a smile was hidden behind the folded page. "Yep, I do."
Setting his menu down, he shrugs. "Do a bit of singing too - usually just backup." He leans forward a little to rest his elbows on the table. Opening his mouth to say more, he's interrupted by the waitress who come to take his and Taylor's orders. By the time she leaves, his thought seems to have grown too old to speak.
"So what did Kyle say?" Axel inquires.
Rocky lifts an eyebrow. "It was like pulling teeth, but we got him to say yes."
"Really? Does the rest of JetStream know?"
Rocky shakes his head. "No..." He sighs. "We told him he needed to tell them, but he was undecided." He looks to Jess again, knowing that she was probably clueless about all of this. "Kyel's from JetStream," he explains. "You mighta seen him around. Great voice. Me and some of the others from Cryptic recorded him a few years back - that was before Axel came along. Problem is - Kyle never told his siblings or the rest of his band about it. They're still clueless he's as good as that."
Taylor rolls her eyes. "I don't see what the big deal is. Why don't we just tell them for him?"
"Because we promised," Axel answers her. There's a slight edge to his voice as if he's annoyed Taylor would say that. "And that's reason enough, don't you think?"
She shrugs. "I suppose." Glancing over to Jess, she grins. "We're surrounded by a chivalrous bunch."
Deciding it's time to switch the subject, Rocky glances towards the window. "Didn't see the truck, Axel. Get that car you wanted to?"
Axel shakes his head, relaxing again. "No, still working on that deal. The truck was busy though, so I rode with Jess."
Taylor's eyes widen noticeably. "You..."
Axel doesn't look up, but rather plays with a straw wrapper.
Rocky glances to Jess, then Axel, to Taylor, then back to Axel. His eyes show not that he wants to pry, but instead help for some odd reason. "Well," he mentions casually, "Taylor and I can give you a ride back to the shop when we're done here if you want. We're heading that way anyway."
Axel's eyes shoot up quickly and a strange pause follows until his gaze wanders to Jess for a moment, then back to Rocky. "No need. I'm good."
Taylor sits back a little, studying him. "Feeling alright?"
"Yeah, why?"
"I just..."
Rocky kicks Taylor under the table, making her jump, but she doesn't say anything aloud. "Nothing. Never mind."
Before more can be said, the waitress returns with their food, interrupting the conversation along with the awkwardness. Rocky prays before they eat, and talk becomes lighter chitchat, Taylor leading most of it.
Axel seems lost in thought a few times, a bit more out of it than normal, though not unwilling to enter into some banter with Rocky and crack an occasional smile.
Eventually, Taylor looks at her watch and reminds Rocky she needs to get to work. Rising, she bids farewell to both Axel and Jess, and she heads for the door. Rocky is a little slower, sliding from the booth and standing to stretch. "Well you two... have a nice afternoon. Axel, see you tomorrow at three - I'll swing by to pick you up. And..." He glances to Jess, offering a grin. "Hope to see you there too." Giving a wave, he turns to follow after Taylor.
Axel watches them leave and is quiet for a moment before looking to Jess as if realizing something. "Sorry - you can have your booth back." He starts to get up, with the intention of sitting across from her again, to give her space once more.

Space
Rugged looks
Misty shakes her head as Jason starts to leave a small laugh escaping from her lips.
"Try to stay out of trouble huh? I dont want to have to wait another week to see you."
Once Jason is gone Misty lets out a small sigh before going back to her work. Though not able to consintrate so much as she would like to.
Picking up the phone on her desk she dials Carson's cell only to get the voicemain instead of him. Figuring it was better than nothing at all Misty leaves a message.
"Hey You. I was wondering if you were working late or not? I though we could grab a pizza, watch a movie and maybe just hang out back at my place. Let me know. See ya"
Hanging up the phone Misty trys to clear her mind and consintrate going back to her work at hand.
Angel can't help but laugh at the comment about the dog sleeping with him. Leave to Mick to say something like that. Though Angel was worry about being so far away from Luke and Wendy she new they were both in good hands.
"I am a bit tired. I was thinking about laying down to take a nap before I headed over to TJY. You take care of yourself too and if you need any help please ask someone....I love you."
Hanging up the phone Angel sets it down on the table and walks back over to the bed. Laying back it only takes moments before she is asleep.
The quiet is welcomed at the table like many times before Jess didnt mind it. There was just something about the silence with Axel that was welcoming.
Looking up as Axel talks a smile spreading across her face. It was differnt to have someone invite her someplace. About to reply Jess gives a jump at the sound of someone alses voice shattering the silence. Shooting her head up Jess looks to Rocky and than back to Axel feeling a bit uneasy from being startled. As Rocky draws his attachen to Jess she just looks up at him for a moment than looking back at Axel almost as if asking if this person she didnt know was ok.
Turning he eyes back to Rocky after Axel's introduction Jess can feel herself calm just a little. If he was a friend of Axel's he must be ok. She had formed enough trust in Axel to know he had a good judge in who he hung out with.
Just looking at Rocky's hand for a moment Jess finally exstends her own slowly and takes a hold of him giving a it shake before withdrawing it.
"Its nice to meet you as well."
Jess gives Rocky a soft smile trying to let her discomfort show through. but cant help giving a little start when Tylor comes over as well not having exspected anyone alse. Jess gives a smile and nod to her.
Moving over slightly as Axel moves into the boot Jess press herself up again the wall not minding to much. Taking the menu that was infront of her Jess lifts it a little and scans it though Axel and herself had already ordered. It was the only thing she could do where she felt comfortable. She didnt know these people very well so she didnt know what to talk about silence was the best option for now.
As Rocky's offer makes it to Jess ear she stays silent for a moment. One might think she didnt even hear Rocky but finally she looks over her own menu and gives another smile to Rocky this time with a little more confadince.
"I dont think I have to work tomarrow. So I might just stop by, Axel was telling me about everyone and I do think I'd like to hear you guys. Thank you for the offer Rocky."
Looking back down at the menu Jess look over at Axel and than puts the menu down again waiting for the food. Looking back at Rocky for a moment Jess takes note to his rudded looks.
"So, you play the keybored?"
Company
Jason lets a bit of silence linger, not sure he can offer anything more about Carson. It was between those two now, and he could just hope they worked things out. He knew Carson was probably clueless that Misty even felt this way, but he was unsure how he'd react if Misty told him.
Giving a little smile of encouragement, Jason starts to leave, but then stops as Misty keeps him there with her own question.
Glancing back at her, something strange flickers in his eyes, and he just looks at her for several moments. No one, other than Katie, ever really asked him how he was. He was invincible Hotshot, able to handle anything. No one ever took the time to look past that outer layer. It wasn't bad that they didn't, and he certainly wasn't offended when they didn't, but it just created a brief feeling of almost confusion when someone like Misty actually did take note that there was more going on than his cocky air.
He offers a slightly crooked grin and shrugs. "I'm... alright. Take the Austin factor out, and I'd probably say I'm doing right well." Though there's sadness there, he covers it up - there was no need to go digging around on that subject now.
"And as far as I know, Katie's alright. We've both been under a lot of stress lately. Spent time together but not really... know what I mean?" He shakes his head. "I just want this whole thing to be over so we can get back to normal again. But... I have my doubts that will be any time soon."
"Jason?" Susanne sticks her head into the infirmary. "There you are. Austin's looking for you."
Jason rolls his eyes. "I'll be there... soon." He turns back to Misty with a smirk. "I suppose I better not push my luck and at least go see what he wants. If you hear an explosion though, it wasn't me."
Tossing her a wink, he heads for the door. "Let me know about Carson," he throws over his shoulder.
Exiting, he slings an arm around Susanne to drag her along with him. "Now what's all this about..."
Luke straddles a chair backward and looks out the window, the phone to his ear. He smiles. "Yeah, I was kinda wondering if you were ever gonna call. Thought maybe you'd forgot," he teases. "I miss you too. Mick offered me the dog to keep me warm at night, but I politely turned him down."
Still grinning, he sees people out and about outside, and wishes he had the strength in his legs this morning to join them. "You sound tired," he muses. "Take care of yourself, alright?"
Axel grins as he unbuckles his seatbelt. "Either that, or everybody heard a storm was coming."
Getting inside, the aromas make one's mouth water. Axel finds a table with Jess, and it doesn't take them long to be settled and waiting for their food. Conversation is light and sparse as always, but it's not uncomfortable, and rather fairly relaxing.
Waiting for their food, Axel runs a finger around the top of his water glass. "Um... you know we got that concert tomorrow evening at a fundraiser. I was gonna ask if you wanted to come along. Hang out with the band, and you won't have to pay to get in either."
He shrugs. "Lot of people, but... stick around us and it's not a bad bunch." He lifts his eyes to look at Jess across the table, wondering if she felt up to a social event like that.
"Well, look who the cat dragged in."
Axel turns quickly to look up at his friend. "Rocky. I thought you had to work today."
Rocky smirks. "That's a fine welcome. Hi to you too."
Axel offers a wry grin. "You alone?"
"No." Rocky shakes his head and thumbs over his shoulder. "I got some weird blonde tagging along. Said her cousin was borrowing her car and she had no way to get to work."
"And... she twisted your arm to buy her lunch too?"
"Nope. I told her I was penniless. I only stopped because she said she'd share one of her french fries with me."
Axel shakes his head, still grinning. "She's as dangerous one."
"You're telling me." Rocky chuckles, then shifts his attention to Jess. "You must be Jess. Think I've seen you a time or two, but this knucklehead has never introduced us."
Axel's face grows slightly warm. "Jess, this is Rocky. He's the keyboard player for Cryptic. Rocky, this is Jess."
Rocky smiles and extends his hand for a warm handshake. "Nice to finally meet you."
Taylor catches up to him, coming up from behind and waving to Axel, a smile on her face. "Hey, Ax. What are you doing here?"
Axel looks down at the table, then around the restaurant. "Fishing?"
Taylor rolls her eyes and gives his arm a whack. "Nice try. I see somebody finally got you out of your hole." She grins over at Jess. "Don't let this guy fool you. He's not exactly a social butterfly."
Few would notice the muscles in Axel's jaw tightening. "So - you two got a table?"
Taylor shakes her head. "Rocky wanted to sit across the room from me, but I told him he was being ridiculous."
Rocky gets a crooked grin on his face. "I wouldn't want people to talk." He tosses Jess a wink. "Taylor here is the baby sister of the band."
"Baby?" Taylor smirks at him. "Thanks a heap." She turns back to Axel. "Mind if we share a table?"
Axel lifts his eyebrows slightly, then glances at Jess. He'd been enjoying the quiet, but he didn't want to be rude to his friends either. "Um... okay." But instead of putting Jess in an awkward position of sitting next to someone she didn't know, Axel slides from his seat to make a simple turn and share Jess' booth with her, leaving the opposite side for Rocky and Taylor.
Rocky scoots in across from Jess and puts a leg up on the booth to keep Taylor from sitting down. All it does is serve to get another whack from her though, so he relents and straightens, the teasing twinkle in his eye remaining. Scanning a menu briefly, Rocky looks over the top of it to see Jess. "If you haven't heard Cryptic, tomorrow night is a prime opportunity."
"I... was just asking her about that," Axel intervenes. His eyes study his water glass again, his demeanor having changed slightly to be just a bit cooler than before.

Rush
Looking at Axel for a moment Jess just studys him for a long moment. She was still intested in what she had asked Axel and wondered why he wasnt telling everything when she new there way more. But prying wasnt in her nature and for now she figured to let it go.
Giving a small snicker at Axel's comment Jess continues to drive letting the silence continue. For most it might be uncomfortable, and maybe a bit awkward but for Jess it didnt bother her. The silence was nice but knowing someone alse was next to her was even nicer.
Finally after diving a few minutes more Jess and Axel are on the other side of town pulling into a nice bar and grill. Finding a parking spot and shutting the car off Jess gives a small sigh..
"Here we are and it dosnt look like they are to busy eather we must of missed the rush."
Misty can't help but give a small smile just thinking about Carson always did that, though still there was that feeling that things just were differnt now.
"He is a good guy, and he really is doing good. From what I saw a few differnt times of him being at Mom and Pop's and around other people He's really going on the right road."
Think for a moment Misty is quiet. She wasnt sure what to think really about Carson's old self and now his new one. Maybe she was being selfish and should just accept the change and move on or maybe like Jason said she should talk to him.
"I dont want him to feel like he did something wrong if I talk to him. Let alone I dont even know what I would say. He's worked so hard to make it this far, I dont want him to feel like it was for nothing."
Misty lets out a small sigh and taps her pen on the desk. Everything had a time and a reason. She new Jason was right and she should at least say something to Carson so he new and not keep it bottled up inside. Finding the right time would be the hard part.
Looking up at Jason Misty gives him a smile as she looks into his own eyes. He hide his own curtine of pain that only one person could feel, but still from the look Misty could tell it was there. Yet behind the pain Misty could see the changes Jason went through that had formed him to who he was today. Change everyone goes throuh it, but adapting to that change was the hardest part of all.
"So...other than upset, and hurt from your grandfather how are YOU? How's Katie doing I havnt see her today Not that I talk to her much when I do see her."
Entering the hotal room Angel puts her bags down on the floor. Just standing in the doorway for a moment. The flight here had been longer than intended and she was not completely exsausted. It almost felt like the life he been drained out of her for no reason. Letting out a long tired sigh Angel makes her way over to the small table at the far end of the room and sits down for a moment drawing the curtin back and just looking out the window.
It felt strange to be this far from home and everyone there. Since a long time ago the Ranch had been home, the place she stayed the most. Other than going in town now and than, at the end of the night the Ranch was where she rested her head. Now, Now she was so far away, and so was Luke. Everyone not knowing anything differnt was going on than the normal. Home...how Angel missed it already.
Pulling out her cell phone Angel just holds it for a moment before finally dialing the number to the ranch. Keeping her voice chipper she wait till she hears Luke's voice on the other end.
"Hey Hun. Sorry I am so late calling the one layover I had took longer than they exspected. Yeah I am here now though. I miss you already."
Continuing to talk on the phone Angel stands and starts slowly to her bags. She wasnt sure how long she would be staying but she new it would at least be for a week she might as well put her things away in the dresser and hang up her other cloths.

All night
Axel doesn't mind the silence in the car, though seems to almost keep his distance, but not quite. When Jess finally speaks, a bit of a grin forms. His eyes remain to the road ahead, taking note of the surroundings and where they were headed. He knew she was stating both an offer and a question about his behavior.
"It's just something I promised myself a long time ago," he responds cryptically.
He gives Jess a sidelong glance. His eyes showed perhaps a little bit of sheepishness, but no embarrassment, and no apology. "Don't take it personally," he advises, keeping his tone gentle.
Reaching up, he gives the air freshener a spin with his finger, his final words being stated with dry humor. "I trust your driving enough to ride with a storm cloud."
Jason hadn't really expected the tone in Misty's voice when referring to Carson, so it catches him a little by surprise. Hearing her question though, he begins to understand. Studying her for a moment, he sees a familiar look in her eye. One she'd had long before, but for such different reasons. It was deep feelings for someone she cared about so much, while at the same time, there was as longing there for something more. Once it had been born of betrayal... this time it had been born of change.
Taking a deep breath, he lets it out slowly, just thinking for a moment. Popping the lid on the small bottle, he takes a pill to swallow, then puts the rest in his pocket. Crossing his arms, he backs up against the wall and looks down at Misty, wanting to understand, but knowing he didn't know how she felt.
"I don't know," he finally answers. He furrows his brow in thought. "I guess... it would depend on what kind of a change it was. Look at me." He shrugs. "I've changed. A lot. I guess it hasn't been bad - at least no one has complained."
He grins a little. "Not to me anyway." Another pause allows his mind to ponder more deeply. "I suppose it would also depend on the reason for the change. If it's a natural change that develops good characteristics, then I'd hesitate to say it was wrong. But... if it's a forced change that denies one their own self... I wouldn't think it would be healthy."
He cocks his head. "Carson's a good guy now, Misty. As much as I hate to admit it, I gotta say he really seems to have his act together and is doing well. But... if he's lost himself along the way... is it all for naught?" He shrugs again. "Were the character traits you fell in love with byproducts of a ruffian, or were they pieces of his personality he's now denying himself? If it's the first, then probably his change is for the best. If it's the latter... then maybe he needs to be reminded not to lose himself, no matter how much of a good guy he wants to be. Maybe he doesn't realize that being good doesn't mean that a hundred percent of his actions have to change... he just has to change his intentions - the right actions will naturally follow. He might just be scared to let any of his old self through, for fear of slipping up again. I don't know."
Jason shakes his head and straightens. "If it bothers you though... you might want to talk to him about it." Even though Misty hadn't really said so, he could tell that this did bother her. "I'm sure he'd want to know how you felt."
One might have to look hard, but if they did, they'd see the faint smile emerge on Scott's face. "I just need one... for now. Um, just... you can bring it here tomorrow. I guess maybe I'll stay here for tonight... probably... so I'll be here tomorrow anyway."
He thinks for a moment. "If... if you can find the one with the zoom lens... the one with the green strap... that one's, um... my favorite."
He gives a little nod. "Thanks, Katie. For... everything."
His hands got back in his pockets and he turns, ready to aim back for the infirmary. Staying this long on the main floor was starting to make him nervous, and the infirmary was the only place he had to go.
"So... where were you last night?"
Kyle chugs down a glass of orange juice, just having finished his shower, already late for work. He gives his brother a shrug. "I told you - I was with Cryptic."
"All night?"
"No."
Phil sets his hands on his hips. "So you can't fool me, Kyle. I was up at four in the morning and you hadn't been home. You just got back an hour ago - don't play this game."
"Not trying to." Kyle rinses out his glass and sets it on the counter, turning and grabbing his keys. "I'm late for work."
"Kyle!"
Kyle shakes his head. "I'm fine, bro. Cut it out."
"But where were you?"
Kyle grins and dons his jacket. "For me to know. See you later."
Phil throws up his hands. "Will I?"
"Duh, we got practice tonight."
"So you gonna at least come to that?"
"Of course." Kyle tosses his brother a wave and heads out of the apartment, letting the door fall shut behind him.
Phil just stares at the closed door, mixed emotions surfacing. Kyle had always had a goofy streak, but lately he was starting to worry Phil. He just wasn't himself, and not telling Phil what he'd been up to, let alone all night, just wasn't something he used to do. Why he was suddenly different, Phil didn't know. And why he was so evasive, he didn't know either.
Phil finally sighs and starts getting himself ready for work. Unfortunately, he didn't have time to stand here and figure it all out.
You can't barrow
Jess holds up her keys and smiles heading for her car. It was strange Axel would want to drive sepret when they were both just going to the same place anyways.
"We can take my car I don't mind. It would take a few hours if we walked."
Getting into her car she holds her smile. Pulling out of the parking lot and heading down the road Jess is quiet for a long while just letting her mind wonder from one thing to the next till finally her own curosity can not be held back any long. But how did she want to ask? Should she just sound nosie or think of a way to ask differently.
"You know Axel, I dont mind having a rainbow in my car..."
Giving a nod to the airfreshiner that hung on her window Jess smiles.
"It gives me a chanse to see a double rainbow. So...if you ever need a lift, or lunch and you dont have the truck you can ask. I dont mind."
Looking up at Jason once again Misty cant help but enjoy his company for the moment. She missed him more than maybe she would like to addmit. Jason had become one of her close friends and fast. Just not having him there was wrong and felt wrong.
At Jason's question about Carson Misty thinks deeply for a moment as a look pass through her eyes. Almost a longing, or as if something just might be missing.
"Things are going ok. Carson is a regular gentilmen now."
Misty lets out a long sigh. Over the last week things had been good and it felt great to have Carson back but still something was missing. Carson had changed so much it almost felt like he was a new person that Misty didnt quite know anymore. Finally looks back up at Jason Misty continues.
"...He's changed alot Hotshot. Thats not a bad thing, but...its just...do you think a person can change to much?"
Watching her brother leave Sapphire eyes never leave him. How she had missed her brother and though they had fallen away over the years losing him once had shown here just how much she was taking for granted. Never again would she do that. Her brother was her brother and she loved him no matter what.
Looking up from her desk Katie's grin widens a bit as she see Scott. How good it always was to see him and hear his voice. Knowing he was there, and he was ok made Katie feel good. Hearing the question about the cameras the smile on Katie's face grows. She was hopping that sooner or later Scott would ask for them back. Since she had taken them she never used them but made sure to keep them clean and ready.
"No, you cant barrow them Scott sorry. but...you can have them back."
Katie holds her smile as her eyes sparkle.
"They are you cameras, I was just keeping them safe for you so nothing happend to them. Tomarrow when I come into work I can bring them for you or I can bring them to your house along with a few other things of yours I have."

Borrow
Axel gives a nod at the suggestion. "Sounds good to me." He opens the door and holds it for Jess before sidling out behind her. Stepping into the parking lot though, he suddenly stops. Glancing around, he gives a little groan.
He walks to the side where one bay was open. "Leo!" he hollers. "Where's the truck?"
"Jed just took it," Leo responds loudly, followed by the clang of a dropped tool. "Got called to tow. Why?"
Axel shakes his head. "It was personal use anyway. Forget it."
Leo steps out from behind his car to look out at Axel and Jess. "You going to lunch?"
"Yeah."
"Well..." He quirks an eyebrow and gestures to Jess' car. "She said it was running. What's your problem?"
Axel throws him a withering look. "Never mind." He had his reasons. He had planned on driving separately. It was better that way. Safer. But left with no choice, he wasn't going to embarrass himself or Jess.
Turning back to her, he shrugs. "Guess you're the driver today. Unless it's close enough to walk to."
Jason grins and catches the bottle of pills. "I wish you woulda been out there too. It was one of my best performances."
He rattles the bottle. "And yes. I'm lucky you're around. Thank you."
Starting to leave, he stops and glances back over to Misty. The subject was out of the blue, but he knew Misty well enough to ask. His tone grows more sincere. "How's things with you and Carson?"
Something strange flickers in Scott's eyes as his sister explains where his better cameras had gone and why. His gaze lowers for a moment and he tries to stay on track.
Hearing her question, he looks back up at her again. "Um... I was thinking about it. Thought it might...you know... be something other than..." He shrugs. "This."
He pauses as if not really knowing how to end the short conversation. "...Thanks. I... guess I'll see Katie then, and... I'll start there." He gives a little nod. "Appreciate it."
Turning, it's as if he wants to stay for just a moment, but has to pry himself away. Things had changed... feelings had changed... priorities had changed. He'd be stopping by his sister's desk more often from now on.
Scott's hands go back in his pockets for the route down the row of cubicles. Sidling past several other people, his body language clearly communicates that he isn't comfortable with the thought of stopping to chat.
Getting to Katie's space, he stops and taps lightly on the wall, only after glancing to Austin's office to make sure he wasn't around.
"Katie?" Scott doesn't want to bother her, even though he knew she wouldn't mind. He skips over any morning greeting... having a goal in mind was something new. "I was just, um, talking to Sapphire and..."
"Scott?"
He turns quickly at the sound of Susanne's voice, startled to discover she was standing so close. "Oh...sorry, am I in your way, I..."
"No, no." Susanne shakes her head. "I just saw you here and it reminded me that I was having trouble printing from my computer yesterday, and I wondered if you might take a look at it."
Scott swallows hard, then looks down, around, and back towards the hallway. "You should ask Dalton."
"Well I thought you..."
Scott shakes his head to cut her off. "I don't... I mean... I don't think I would do a very... very good job at the moment. So, um... yeah... ask Dalton."
Susanne is almost ready to argue further, but seems to realize that it would only upset him. "Okay." She gives Scott a warm smile. "Thanks."
After she'd gone, Scott turns back to Katie, now more awkward after having lost his train of thought, and growing more and more on edge the longer he was out on the main floor.
"Cameras... um... Sapphire said you might have a couple that I used to have?" He pauses, feeling strange about asking Katie this. The cameras were his... but then they'd been hers. He didn't want to just outright ask for them back. It didn't seem fair to her. "Could I maybe... borrow one?"
Reese flips open his phone, his thumb hovering above one of the buttons. Sighing, he shuts it again and stuffs the phone back in his pocket. If Angelica hadn't answered her phone yesterday, she probably wouldn't answer it today.
P.O.L
As Axel wraps his fingers around Jess hand for a moment a strange tingle runs through her. It was unexspected and make her jump a little on the inside. Though it wasnt a horrable feeling it was one that made her stop and think for a moment and wonder.
"I guess you know what they say, rain is always around the corner. I guess this time the statment is more true than known."
Thinking for a moment Jess trys to think of a nice place to eat. Nothing to fancy but she did want something a little more than the norm.
"Mmmm...how about the bar and grill thats not to far from here. I hurd they have some pretty good food there and I could go for some BBQ chicken. Thats my fav."
A smile pass across Jess face. It felt good to ask Axel to lunch and not have a problem. It felt strange but good non the less.
Looking up from her desk Misty gives a small smile as she see Jason. It had been quiet around the office and a little boring to say the least without Katie and Jason there. Even if Misty didnt see them much, she could always here there voice outside the infermary and just the though of them not being there hurt.
"Good Morning Hotshot. Sounds like you made a pretty intresting display out there. Wish I would have known so I could of watched."
Giving a sly grin Misty opens her desk draw and pulls out a small bottle tossing it to Jason.
"Good thing I am a dr or you would be P.O.L. you know that!"
Giving a small jump after being in her own world Sapphire looks up from her desk to look face to face with her brother. It wasnt often he ever went out of his way to talk to her, not in a long while anyways so seeing him now was a bit of a saprise.
Drawing quiet for a moment Sapphire just thinks about here most of her brothers stuff ended up. It had been split between so many people and the rest had just been tossed it was hard to remember who got what.
"I got some of your less exspensive cameras and than the ones that were most important to you I believe Katie took. I think she said she wanted to keep them safe because they held memories to them that shouldnt be thrown away."
Thinking again for a moment Sapphire wonders if maybe she offered to much information on that one. Figuring one way of the other it probley didnt matter she cocks her head at her brother for a moment as a little bit of hope fills her. Maybe her baby brother was starting to feel better if he wanted to take some pictures.
"Were you going to take some more pictures?"

All gone?
Thinking he was alone, Jess' voice startles Axel and he looks up quickly. His eyes lock with hers for a moment, though he doesn't say anything...just analyzing her words.
As she approaches, he almost backs up when she takes his hand in hers. But for some reason, he doesn't. Not from her.
His own hand was still shaking slightly, and her gentle pressure at first felt like needles. He cringes a little, but he doesn't withdraw. His eyes lower, his shoulders dropping slightly.
"A rainbow only hides when it's at its weakest," he responds quietly.
After several moments, Axel realizes that the spasm has stopped, and slowly the numbness was dispersing. Keeping his gaze downward, his fingers tighten around Jess', stopping her from continuing, and his thumb runs through her palm.
"You're going to get grease on your hands," he almost whispers. Taking the rag from his back pocket, he gently wipes off her fingers, then slowly lets them go. He needn't thank her verbally... he knew she would know his gratefulness for her subtle gesture of kindness.
Stuffing the rag back into his pocket, he clears his throat and looks up to see Jess' eyes again. A faint grin forms. "I told Leo it was going to rain. Looks like I was right." Moving to the side, he rummages on the desk for a moment before punching his time card and regaining composure. "I'd love to join you for lunch," he replies. "But this time you decide where we're headed."
"Mmm...." Jason's eyes spark as he looks down at Katie.
So did you.
His emotions are sly and teasing after her kiss. Reaching out, he brushes her cheek with the back of his hand.
See you later. I better get something done or else I'll be pushing my luck.
He tosses Katie a wink and turns to stride back down towards his office. The anger and frustrations were still boiling underneath the surface, but for now, he was under control. Feeling a bit weak though, he passes by his office and aims for the infirmary instead.
Poking his head in, he spies Scott and gives him a little wave before entering and approaching Misty. "Morning," he greets, leaning against the side of her desk and folding his arms. "You uh... wouldn't happen to have a few of those sugar pills on hand, would you?" He grimaces. "I gotta let off some steam, but until I can..."
Scott glances up as Jason comes in, and gives him a little wave. The night hadn't been great... he was tired this morning, weary from another battle with the nightmares. But this morning he wasn't going to sit here and be bored like he had been. No... there was just one thing that he had to focus on now, and it was all he could do to stay focused on it. But he would.
Finished tying his shoes, he walks slowly out of the infirmary, his pulse starting to quicken. There were a lot of people here this morning... he'd already heard Austin's loud voice. He didn't want any run-ins... he didn't want any confrontations. He just wanted to see Sapphire.
Shuffling along down the hall, one hand runs along the wall, his stability on the walk. Passing by Dalton's office, his fingers hit the door, and he looks up at the nameplates again. Maybe he had two things to focus on.
Continuing his route, he gets to the main floor that was busy with activity. Stuffing his hands in his pockets and keeping his eyes lowered, he walks quickly so as not to be stopped by anyone until he gets to Sapphire's cubicle.
Stopping and looking over the wall, he tries to smile for her, though it's weak. "Morning..." He pauses, trying to collect his thoughts. "I... I kinda had a question for you..." He stops again, unsure how to ask. It wasn't usual that he went out of his way to talk to his sister, even if he did need something. "I... did any of my.... I mean.... my cameras.... are they all gone?"

Storms and Rainbows
Watching Scott leave Hope lets out a small sigh as she looks down at Scott's file. They hadnt gotten far but it was farther than where she normaly got on the first session. Quickly Hope jots a not down on Scott's file.
Hope looms in the air. What is normal?
Cloing the file Hope lets out a small sigh and stands to put it away before she leaves for the night.
Waiting to make sure Scott was inside before Katie pulled away she finally heads for home. She was more tired than she would like to admit but it had been a pleasure to take him. She could only continue to hope that he would be ok in time. She missed her friend and she hated seeing him so sad.
Goodnight J! I am heading to bed early. Sleep well!
Wrapping her arms around Luke in a tight hug feeling his own arms around her Angel burrys her face into his shoulder.
"I'm going to miss you alot too."
Letting the hug linger Angel takes in Luke's smell and his feel. How she really was going to miss him. It had been a long time now since they had been apart and the though was a bit scary.
Finally drawing away Angel smiles and gives Luke a quick kiss before turning again to get her bag.
"Ok, I guess I am as ready as I ever will be. I'll make sure to call you when I get there."
Giving a small smile Angel turns to make her way out of the house. She new everyone had her number if they needed her but for some reason a feeling of meloncoly loomed almost like she wouldnt see home for a long time again.
And so Night once again turns as many minds are one many differnt things. The new day would hope new avents that to some might be a little scary and to others was the norm, but non the less the time came and the run rised telling everyone to wake for the day.
As the morning comes its another day at TJY and many work as normal. Nate sifts through a tone of files that had been piled on him letting out a long sigh. He hated the paper work, he was ment to be out, on cases not sitting behind his desk signing them.
A suddon comotion catches his attachen as he looks up from his paper work for a moment seeing Jason pass. Giving a small returning salute he cant help but smile at his friends air a small snicker escaping.
"You do what we all want to Hotshot."
Giving another shake Nate looks back down at his papers. Maybe today was going to be intresting after all.
Hearing Jason's voice Katie looks up from her desk. For a moment she is saprised by the way Jason was dressed and acting and a suddon panic rushes over her. Jason's feeling had been blocked off all morning and now this. Was everything that was going on causing Jason to go back to his old ways.
As Jason draws closer and lets his walls down a smile forms on Katie face.
You had me worryed there for a moment.
Finally relizing what Jason was doing Katie cant help the small laugh, but as Austin's harsh tone is hurd Katie almost gives a jump. Though the look on her face is replace with another smile as Jason stands up to his grandfather.
As the rose is presented to Katie again her smile grows. She wasnt sure what she was taking please in more. Jason and Austin or the fact that she got to see Jason at work again. Standing at one point in the conversation Katie gently but fermly take a hold of Jason's shirt and pulls him slightly twords her. Pressing her lips to his she lets the kiss linger for a long moment before finally breaking it and than looking Austin in the eyes almost as if making her own statment.
Lunch sounds great J. You did good, you did good.
Once again the bell to the shop rings as Jess enters the gradge. Glancing around she see Axel disapear into the waiting room. Giving a small way to Leo she reasures.
"Dont worry nothing wrong with the car today. I think all the problems are fixed."
Giving a laugh she heads to the waiting room door and opens it slightly stepping inside. For a long moment Jess just stands there looking at Axel taking now to him rubbing his hands once again. Finally speaking in a soft tone Jess smiles.
"As the storm went hunting for the rainbow it wished to see, only to find it hidding for non to see."
Still smiling Jess holds out her hand to Axel as she gently slips hers into his once again and hently starts to rub. Thought this was only the second time Jess couldnt help but feel like this was now normal. To help Axel's hands feel better though she could still feel the color forming in her own cheeks.
"I thought maybe the rainbow would like some lunch today, that is if it wants to still."
Anytime
Though Scott doesn't look at Hope as she speaks, and though some might think his mind was a thousand miles away, he was listening. He was taking in her words, analyzing them, calculating, and trying desperately to cling to the encouragement they offered. It was hard though. Two months of being put down and being helpless wasn't easy to overcome. And there were still blank spots in his memory.
At Hope's suggestion to take pictures, Scott slowly looks back up at her. He'd always loved taking pictures... it was the one thing away from computers that he could do well. He used to have fun with it. Fun... what did that mean to him anymore?
Finally he nods. "I'll have to find a camera," he comments quietly. "Everything... all my things... it's all gone." He remembered one camera in particular that had been his favorite. He'd saved up a long time to buy it. He didn't like digital. He'd gone old fashioned, but always thought the pictures turned out better anyway.
Sitting quietly for a few more minutes, Scott finally rises to his feet again. Though open for a few brief moments, he had shut down again, and this time was too tired to fight it again.
"I'll, um... have Rick... set up the next time or... or something. If... I feel like coming back." He hadn't needed to add the last part, but saying it reminded him that he was still in control of his own decisions. It was up to him if he was going to come back, not Rick's and not Hope's.
Though on his way to the door, he turns one more time, bravely looking at Hope and mustering up the courage it took. "Thank you..."
Before anything else can be said, he leaves.
Head down and shoulders bent, he goes back through the front office, not looking anyone in the eye until he's finally free again, out in the open air. Taking a deep breath, he heads to Katie's car.
Domino wiggles with excitement, turning around on Katie's lap, and giving her several kisses as if thanking her for waiting for Scott. Giving a little bark, she hops into the passenger seat to greet her master with enthusiasm.
Scott reaches in to pick her up so once he's seated, she can he on his lap, and he scratches her head lovingly. It's several moments before he even speaks, glancing over to Katie. "You can take me..." He stops, thinking. "...back to TJY." He gives a little nod, trying not to change his mind, before he buckles himself in.
The ride is quiet. Scott doesn't say much on the way back to TJY. He doesn't offer any information about what went on inside, but he knows that Katie doesn't care. That was one thing he could count on... Katie would never pry and never push. And right now, that meant more to him than it ever had before.
Dropping Domino off at Katie's and Laura's, then making it to TJY, Scott goes inside slowly, not really sure how to act now. He had a couple things to think about now. Some goals, even though they were small. Maybe Susanne could help him out with this one. But for now... for now he would keep Rick happy by staying here at least another night or two... at least until he felt like he could go home without the fear of himself.
The ringing phone startles Axel from his dazed state, and it takes him a moment to realize just what it was. It wasn't like him to doze off like this, and it was hard to shake the cobwebs.
Getting up, he staggers to the phone by the kitchen, leaning on the counter sleepily as he answers it.
Hearing Jess's voice, he opens his eyes wider, a crooked grin forming. "I like downpours," he muses casually. "Especially when I know they're coming so I can be prepared."
He fiddles with the phone cord, trying to think of something intelligent to say, but his brain seems to have stopped altogether. It wasn't a feeling he liked. "Well this rainbow will be around the shop all day tomorrow, so anytime Stormy wants to stop by it's fine."
Finishing up the short conversation, Axel knows that he'll see Jess tomorrow. At least he hadn't caused too much damage there. Maybe tomorrow he'd have to talk to her a little more about himself so this didn't happen again.
Going back to the living room, he picks up his guitar from the corner and sits down on the edge of his couch, strumming out a new tune...
...A knock at the door startles Axel from his sleep and he squints in the dim light at the clock. He hadn’t intended on sleeping again until he went to bed, but apparently he’d been out for several hours. So much for going for that walk.
Rising slowly, he mumbles a the next knock. “Coming, coming…” He gets to the door and unlocks the deadbolt before opening it and lifting his eyebrows with a little bit of surprise. “Taylor.”
She smiles. “Hey, Ax.” She cocks her head at his tired eyes. “I didn’t wake you, did I?”
“Yeah.” Axel shrugs, leaning on the door. “No problem. What’s up?”
“Oh…” Taylor hands him a manila envelope. “Joel said these were yours so I offered to bring them down.”
Axel takes the recent batch of songs he’d received. “Oh yeah… thanks. I could have gotten them in a day or two.”
“It’s ok.” Taylor shrugs. “I wanted to take a drive anyway. You coming to practice tonight?”
Axel shakes his head, his eyes still weary. “Not tonight.”
Taylor immediately switches gears, standing a little straighter to put more space between Axel and herself. “One of those days, huh?’
“Mm-hmm.” Axel nods. “Tell Rocky I’ll call him tomorrow, alright?”
“Sure. If you need anything…” Taylor grins and shakes her head. “Yeah. See ya.”
“Thanks.” Axel watches until Taylor’s halfway down the stairs until he shuts and locks the door again, ambling back to his chair and tossing the papers onto the table.
Taylor makes it to her car and gets in to drive away. Though she was a little disappointed in the less-than-enthusiastic greeting, she knew better than to stick around. It hadn’t taken the band long to learn that some days, Axel needed his space . All had learned the signs soon after he’d joined them, and though not always even knowing what set him off, there were simply those days when he needed to be left alone. It had taken a few spats, some hurt feelings and some apologies to realize it, but everyone knew each other so well by now, that it was routine. Everybody had their quirks. Axel seemed to have the most of the bunch, but he was a good friend, and an asset to the band.
Heading to Rocky’s, Taylor picks up her cell phone to call Joel and let him know Axel wouldn’t be there tonight.
Luke wanders into the bedroom slowly, but on his own, which was better than the day before. Going over to Angel, he reaches down to run a finger along her face. "Ready to go?" He offers her a smile. "Truck's waiting to get to the airport, whenever you're ready."
Holding out his hands, he helps Angel back to her feet, pulling her into a hug. "I'm gonna miss you, ya know that?" He pulls away, giving her a grin, then leaning in to give her a kiss. "You be careful, alright? And call me."
"Ty!" Wyatt gives a start as the front door opens and closes. He gets to his feet, leaving his open book on the couch. "I've been trying to call you all day."
Ty quirks an eyebrow and retrieves his cell phone from his pocket. He checks the screen he recognizes. "Huh... looks like you have."
Wyatt's eyes narrow at the apathetic tone. "Where have you been? I've been worried about you. Where were you last night?"
"Out." Ty starts for the hallway, but Wyatt is quicker, stepping in front of him.
"Where were you?"
"None of your business."
"It is my business! You're my friend and I care. Talk to me, Ty."
Ty rolls his eyes. "Can I just go to bed?"
"Not until you tell me where you've been."
"With friends, alright?"
Wyatt crosses his arms. "Which friends?"
"My friends." Ty glares at Wyatt. "Last I knew, it wasn't any of your business who I hung out with or where I went. Why start now?"
"Because you're being stupid, that's why."
"Wow. Thanks for the vote of confidence."
"Tell me where you've been!"
"With Brandi, alright?!"
Wyatt searches Ty's face. "You mean to tell me that you spent the night with a girl?"
"She's a woman. Besides, what do you care?"
Wyatt's tone remains firm. "Were you at her place?"
Ty grits his teeth, refusing to look Wyatt in the eye. "Yeah, so what?"
Wyatt continues to study Ty, not believing the questions that were going through his mind. "So last I knew, she didn't have a guestroom."
Ty suddenly looks up at Wyatt, a cocky grin forming on his lips. "Nope."
Wyatt is just about ready to give Ty a piece of his mind, when he sees the flash in the younger man's eyes. "You're lying to me."
Ty holds out his arms. "You asked, I told you. Don't like the truth? Complain to someone else."
Wyatt shakes his head, his tone lowered. "It isn't the truth is it? 'Cause you're not that stupid. You wouldn't pull a stunt like that, no matter how mad you were."
Ty lets his arms drop to set his hands on his hips. He gives a scoffing laugh and shakes his head, lowering his eyes to the floor once again. "I was at the park 'til sundown, then I wound up in Con's truck the night."
"Con's?"
"Yeah, he didn't lock it." Ty shrugs. "I didn't want to go inside so I just...borrowed the backseat for a while."
Wyatt rolls his eyes. "Nice. Then what?"
"I just been wandering around all day. Got something to eat, walked around. Came back here."
Wyatt lets out a long sigh. "Look, Ty... I'm not going to tell you what to do, but please... stick around, alright? I know you're hurt and frustrated, but we're going to get it straightened out. By the time this is all over, you'll have a job back. I promise you that."
"How can you promise a thing like that?" Ty shoots back. "Your dad isn't the boss anymore, or hadn't you noticed? The only reason I'm sticking around is 'cause I wouldn't be able to find a job anywhere else, so my only option is to mooch off of you until something else turns up."
Wyatt lets him shoulder past and stalk down the hall. He lets out a groan. "You're not mooching," he mumbles, though he knows Ty is out of earshot. "Just... stay out of trouble."
"What? No way." Kyle shakes his head as he pulls out of the Pizza Box parking lot, talking on his phone with Rocky. "I can't do that and you know it." He sighs. "I told you why... No... I just... No, I never told them. I can't. I just... can't." He rolls his eyes as Rocky argues with him. "Alright, look... I'll come to your practice session, but only to help you guys figure something else out, alright?"
A day can never last forever. Nor can the feelings and thoughts that drift on the daytime breeze. No, they must pass, and pass into night, bringing a new day once more. A clean slate. A new beginning.
Jason's alarm goes off, startling him from his nightmarish dream. Grabbing it and giving it a good toss, it rips from the wall, abruptly ending the buzzing sound.
He leans back in his pillow and runs a hand over his face, trying to wake up. He wasn't in a good mood. Part of him wanted to go back to work today, and part of him didn't - not as long as Austin was still there. He was tired... he was cranky. The dreams of the past he'd experienced through the night hadn't helped much, and this morning, he was just... miserable.
Not wanting to deal with anything today, Jason puts up an emotional wall - one that would warn the only one who could read him. It clearly said "off me," with a vague intention of lowering the wall as soon as he was in a better mood.
Giving a groan, he rolls over and pulls his pillow on top of his head to block out the world...
Jason pries his eyes open. It was lighter in is room. It was later. How much later? Sitting up, he rubs his eyes, and tries to rouse himself, grabbing his watch off his nightstand. It was nine o'clock. For just a brief instant, he feels panic, but then it's replaced with apathy, and a blatant disrespect.
Sliding out of bed, he takes his time showering and getting dressed. Downing a glass of orange juice, he keeps his emotional wall up for now, feeling too on edge and too unpredictable - he didn't want to put Katie through any unnecessary flareups. When he felt more stable, he'd open up the connection wider...
...The door to TJY opens, and Jason steps in. A few eyes look up from their desks, a bit surprised. He was wearing jeans with holes in the knees, his black leather jacket and black boots - not in the type of apparel recently encouraged by the reining staff.
Setting his sunglasses up on his head, a cocky grin is pasted on his face, his eyes full of fire. Cupping his hands over his mouth, he calls out loudly. "Good morning, TJY!"
Those who realize just what he's doing start to smile and called out their own greetings to him. This morning, for just a moment, it wasn't the Elite... it was TJY.
Ambling down between the cubicles with a confidant air, Jason stops by Laura's first, hanging over the wall.
Laura smirks up at him with amusement. "Well, if it isn't Hotshot, living up to his name. I haven't see that look in your eye for a long time."
Jason winks and clicks his tongue, pointing a playful finger at her. "For everything, there is a season."
"Mmm." Laura's eyes narrow. "Ecclesiastes. I'm impressed."
"You ain't seen nothin' yet."
Laura tries to read into Jason's intentions, but finds it hard, and can only grin and shake her head. "Go get 'em Hotshot. Just be careful."
"I'm always careful." Giving the cubical wall a tap with his hand, Jason leaves her to her work, and continues his route. He throws Nate a sloppy salute as he goes, along with giving Susanne a borderline-flirtatious point from across the room.
Sauntering towards the hallway, he sees Hal emerge, just leaving for the day.
"Hey, Jason."
"Hal! What's up?"
Hal lifts his eyebrows, a grin toying at his mouth. "Not much. Good to see you back."
"Good to be back. I..."
"Jason."
He turns around at the sound of his name, coming face-to-face with Austin. "Yo, Austin! Just the guy I wanted to see."
Austin looks at his grandson sternly. "You're late."
Jason shrugs. "Yep."
"No excuses?"
"Nope." Jason shakes his head. "Just wanted to sleep late. Got a problem with that?"
Austin hesitates, taken off guard by Jason's behavior. "Yes, as a matter of fact, I do. You'll be docked pay for the time you missed this morning."
Another smile spreads on Jason's face as he raises his voice so everyone can hear him. "Hey! I was one of the first to be suspended, and I'm the first to get docked pay due to tardiness!" He holds up his hands in a victory stance. "Troublemakers eat your heart out!"
A whoop and whistle come from one end of the room, but when Austin turns around, the culprits can't be found. He whirls back around to glare at Jason. "What kind of game are you playing?"
"I dunno." Jason crosses his arms casually. "But I'm not out to lose." A tone of seriousness has entered his voice, and his fiery stare blazes with a righteous indignation. "So help me, I'm not out to lose."
Austin grits his teeth. "Get to your office and get to work."
Jason's cocky grin returns and he gives a pathetic bow. "Yes sir, right away, sir." Backing away, he finally spins around, but then stops. "Whoops, almost forgot something." He pats Austin on the shoulder. "No worries. I'll get to my office here in a minute."
Ambling down the cubicles, he comes to Katie's, slinging his arms over the wall. "Hey, Babe." Reaching into the inside pocket of his jacket, he withdraws a small wrapped rose. "One lovely token, for a lovely young lady." He hands it out to her, while at the same time, lowering his emotional wall enough to say he was sorry for his bad mood and for cutting her off earlier.
And another not-so-lovely token, but for just as lovely a lady.
"I told you to get to work!" Austin barks behind him.
Jason rolls his eyes and turns to him. "And I'm saying good morning to my girlfriend. You got a problem with that?"
"Yes, I do. You're supposed to be working."
"Or else what?" Jason challenges. As his emotions churn, it would be obvious to only one that he was not slipping back into the way he used to be, but rather was using this mode against Austin out of pure rebelliousness. It wasn't a mask, but he was using this side of his personality to the extreme.
He gives Austin a sly grin. "You can suspend me... you can dock my pay... but you're not going to fire me, are you?"
"Don't push me, Jason," Austin warns.
Jason holds his grin. "You're too scared to fire me, aren't you? Too scared of who I might take right along with me. Too scared of the uproar to follow." He cocks his head, retaining his arrogance. "Yes, there's some around here you've already had the audacity to fire, but there are some you would never dare do that to. I'm too important, and I hold too much power here." He purses his lips and sets a hand on his grandfather's shoulder. "Guess you're stuck with me."
Austin glares at Jason for several moments before finally spinning on his heel and stalking back towards his own office.
Jason turns around, the feelings inside of him boiling and churning in every direction as he kept them from doing damage around him. He looks back at Katie with a pleasant expression. "Maybe I should do at least a little work while I'm here. See you at lunch?"
"Axel you done with that?"
Axel slams the hood on the car and wipes his hands on his towel. "She's ready to roll."
Leo whoops. "We're booking. At this rate we won't have anything to do all afternoon."
Axel grins. "Maybe you won't."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Axel glances outside. "I think it might rain."
Leo looks confused and cocks his head to see out the open garage door. "Um... the sun is shining."
"Is it?" Axel doesn't offer anymore, and simply turns back to the toolbench to set his wrenches down. Setting one in the box, the all-too familiar pain shoots through his hand again. Wincing, he holds back the words that wanted to come. He'd been fine all yesterday and all morning.
Looking down at his hand, it starts to tremble unconrollably. This was something new... and it scared him just a little bit.
Stopping what he's doing and keeping his back to the other guys, he rubs his hand, trying to get the spasm to stop. It hurt more than normal, and the numbness was setting in again.
Moving slowly to not alert the other guys, Axel moves into the office, letting the door fall shut, and leaning back against the wall to keep working on his hand. This wasn't good.

Down pour
Accompanying Scott back to her office Hope's smile never fades glad he was going to stay. He'd mad another choise and another step in the right direction. Slowly, very slowly this would all come together and land to the end resalt.
Moving back to her desk Hope sits down and just watches as Scott moves around the office and stays standing. Once again she says nothing about it, letting him feel his own freedom in the room. As he stops and comes to the pictures on her desk once again, Hope is a bit saprised that Scott in fact new the people in the pictures and had taken them himself. Though not letting the saprise on her face show a softer smile seems to make its way through as she thinks about her friends back in Texas.
"Its a small world after all huh?"
Continuing to let Scott speak Hope just listens waiting to talk till she new Scott was done, and once again seeing the ever so smile make its way on Scott's face Hope can feel the slight bit of joy that maybe, maybe this is how she would help Scott thought the one things that seemed to make him smile.
"They are great people indeed. Its not often you find people in this world anymore who wont judge or turn away at the first glance, but Rosetta was the ond people I met who was so differnt. I never really met Mick. Maybe once but I didnt get to know him as well. But Now that Rosetta is married to him I know that me must be just like her."
Thinking for a moment Hope picks up one of the pictures frams for a moment and almost gets lost in thought as she remembers the last time she was at the ranch.
Follow your heart Hope and it will tell you were to go, let the Lord lead you and give you the understanding on all things.
Rosetta's voice could still be hurd as clear as yesterday in her head. How she had loved being at the ranch and listing to Rosetta and the other talk for days. Even if she had kept to herself it was nice to see the smiles.
Turning her attachen back to Scott the smile still ramins on Hope's face processing Scott's words.
"I think that is a very good thing that you are Katie are still friends and she cares for you a great deal. Your a very nice person Scott, and I couldnt understand how anyone would not want to be your friend."
It was the truth that Hope spoke she didnt know Scott all that well yet but from what she could tell he was a great person. Someone worth knowing.
"You say your worthless Scott, but really stop and think. It's might be foggy and it might be hard but just think...if you were worthless would Katie got out of her way to bring you here? Would she bother being you friend still? Everyone back at TJY that are your friends they dont think your worthless. The person who proclame to be you friends are the ones who matter, the ones who still look up to you and care. Everyone alse is just missing out and un important.'
Hope thinks back once again to a time when she felt less than nothing. It was a part of her life it took a long time to get over but over time she did. She could only hope that her words though not much now would help Scott and show him the way back to happyness.
"I want you to do something for me..if you want that is. I'd like you to go out and take some pictures. They dont have to be perfect and they dont have to be the best, but I'd like them to be pictures of how you feel, or maybe even pictures of what the world looks like to you. If you wanna take someone along with you, you can..but when you come to see me again I'd like you to bring them in and maybe we can see through pictures how we can fix somethings."
Looks up at Scott and catching his eye for a moment Hopes gives a small nod.
"And remember Scott...there is always hope. Even in the darkest of courners hope will be there waiting for you."
Falling silent once more Hope lets her statments linger as she keeps the air open so if Scott wanted to talk more he could or if he wanted to make a comment on her idea he was free too.
Finally crashing on the coutch Jess lets out a long sigh as her day is nearly over. It had been one of those days where things are went good, but somethere it just didnt seem all that great. Maybe it was the morning she had that just set the day in a bad motion.
Seeing the flashing message on the masheen Jess leans over pressing the button and than leaning back on the coutch once again. Hearing Axel's message a small smile cant help but makes its way to her face. She was upset still about the whole thing this morning that happend but now it was starting to go away, and just the simply face the Axel had bother to called her at all proved he was diffent.
Picking up the phone and dialing his number Jess waits till he answers.
"So I hurd that the rainbow might need a little bit of rain to shine tomarrow. From what I am told there is going to be a down pour so it might be in luck."
Though she face couldnt be seen a smile made itself known anyways.
Putting a few more things in her bag Angel lets out a small sigh going over everything once again to make sure she wasnt leaving anything behind. She had more than one reason for going to Nevada but now as she rethought it she wondered if it really was a good idea or not. Luke didnt seem like her minded and Angel was sure if he did he would of said something. But the feeling of maybe not sticking her noise where it didnt belong.
Just leaning back on the bed for a moment Angel is hit with a sudden exsaustion. If anything at least she would be able to see some of the research Misty was working on. Though Angel didnt know her all that well she had hurd much about her work and it intreaged her. If anything alse maybe she would leave Nevada with a little more knowlage. She new one thing for certin though she sure would miss Luke while she was gone.

Just once
Scott swallows hard and wants to withdraw from Hope, but something about her softness... something about her sincerity... something about her gentle tone... he didn't turn.
Forced to look up at her, his eyes search hers, wondering about her intentions... wondering about her motives. Why did she want to help? Why did she care?
Feeling her hand on his, he feels a warmth creep up his arm. It didn't matter why she cared... she did, and that was the bottom line. It was different when his friends cared - that was a given. But knowing that someone he didn't even know had hope in him... had insight enough to tell him not to give up... it meant more to him than he thought it would.
Slowly, slowly, he lets go of the door handle and gives a little nod. "Okay." His voice is quiet and small, and he lowers his eyes once more, but he's willing to walk back in Hope's office. For now... for today... he would stay and do his best. He would try.
Letting his hand slip from hers, he keeps his head down again, but willingly follows her back to her office. Once inside, he just stands for a few moments, contemplating what he was really doing here. He didn't really want to talk about his problems right now. He didn't even know what they were. But he couldn't just stand around not saying anything.
Spying the pictures on her desk once again, Scott approaches once more. And once more, he singles out the photo of Mick and Rosetta. A little braver this time, he picks up the frame, cocking his head to look closer. "This was a good day," he muses quietly.
It really had been a good day. And even though some of it had turned to heartache later, he could still enjoy that part of his past.
"They liked me there, ya know?" His eyes linger on the photo and he remembers how Mick had treated him... how Rosetta had treated him. "I was somebody. I wasn't the geek... or... or the nerd. Nobody made fun of me... nobody put me down."
His thin fingers run over the photo one more time before setting it carefully back down on Hope's desk. Looking over at her, that ever-so-faint smile returns. "I... was the photographer that day," he finally explains. "I was um... a friend of... Rosetta's niece." His eyes roam to the window where he knew Katie was nearby. "We were... engaged once. She still cares about me though." He gives a little nod. "She's the one that brought me today."
Growing quiet again, it's several moments before he even moves. Feeling weary, and too tired to fight the awkwardness, he finally eases down in a chair, though he remains forward, on edge, ready to stand if need be. His eyes roam the room for a moment, once more taking note of the paintings. Now he knew why they looked familiar.
Resting his elbows on his knees, his mind seems to run circles. Maybe it was trying to think of everything but why he was really here... groping for stability... reaching out for something, anything that would make him feel normal.
"I used to have it good," he muses. His tone was soft, forcing anyone listening to try hard at catching what he was saying. "Not so great when I was a kid... got pushed around a lot, but... someone found me." He'd finally felt wanted. "Kinda the grand adventure a nerd dreams about, ya know?"
Scott tries to focus, though it's difficult, and he gradually leans back in his chair, trying so hard to relax... trying so hard to keep himself here. "TJY was... was like where I finally belonged. Even though I messed things up and... and sometimes made mistakes... I still had a place."
He stops, finding it nearly impossible to focus his thoughts, and at the same time, not even sure why he's saying what he is. It really had nothing to do with anything. But perhaps somewhere he thought if he talked, he wouldn't leave room for as much questioning.
"I wasn't the best... I was always... kinda clumsy I guess. But... at least I had a purpose. And then... it was a long time, but... someone even made me feel...special." Katie really had made him feel special, even now, after they'd broken up. "But then everything fell apart."
His eyes grow dim once more. "Nothing is the same. I can't... can't even see straight to do anything I just... can't function. Nothing I do is right... nothing I think is clear. But once.... just once..."
Scott's tone proves his desperation as the emotions fill his eyes again. "Once I felt good. But not anymore. There's just no hope.... I'm not... I can't..."
He looks down, now wishing he hadn't said anything at all. "I'm worthless," he whispers.
"Man!"
Axel turned from the front counter, lifting his eyebrows at Leo's dejected tone. "What?"
Leo smirks at him and points towards the door where the tall brunette had just walked out. "What it is about you?"
Axel doesn't have to fake innocence - he truly didn't know what Leo was inferring. "What are you talking about?"
"You're a chick magnet!" Leo throws his arms up. "I can't get a girl to give me the time of day, but every time some model walks in here, she can't get her eyes off you!"
Axel grits his teeth to keep from grinning. "Oh really."
"Yes, really!" Leo comes around the counter to lean over it, looking at Axel wildly. "What do you do anyway? I wanna know."
Axel finishes putting some papers away, then looks back up at his friend with seriousness. "Well, Leo... maybe it's because I don't try." He pats Leo's shoulder then heads to the door, punching his time card. "I'm out of here."
"You're just gonna leave me hanging like that?" Leo shouts after him. "Traitor!" But as the door falls shut, a little smile creeps into his face and he shakes his head, aiming back for the garage.
Axel skips up the steps to his apartment. Heaving a sigh, he rolls his eyes. Some guys would die to be in his shoes and he knew it... but sometimes his shoes didn't even seem to fit very well on his own feet.
Tossing his jacket across his couch, he greets his goldfish with a pinch of food, then flops down in his corner chair. Reaching back, he parts the horizontal blinds with a finger to look out across the empty lot behind the garage. His mind wanders for several minutes until he finally turns his head to glance at his answering machine. One message.
Getting back up, he goes over to his phone to listen. Rocky's voice greets him.
"Hey, Axel. Listen, Logan's down with something nasty. His voice is going fast. It's gonna take a miracle for him to be able to sing at the show in a couple days. Be thinking. Taylor voted me in, but I was thinking about asking Kyle. Let me know what you think. Later."
Axel gives another sigh and goes back to flop down in his chair again. His day had been long... now it felt longer. There had been good days... he shouldn't complain. But today had been a doozy. He had a headache that made his eyes feel like they'd been hit with two-by-fours, lunch hadn't agreed with him, he'd been blamed for a mistake on a car and...
He stops his mind from going further. It shouldn't really bother him that much that he didn't know whether or not Jess had gotten his message. But obviously it bothered him enough for him to lump it together with everything else from the day. So he'd had a crappy day... so what... tomorrow would be better. It would all blow over, and his stupid mistakes would ride on the wind.
He closes his eyes and lets his head sink deeper into his chair. He wanted to go for a walk... he would go for a walk... but right now he was just too tired.
Austin crumpled up another sheet of paper and let it fall into the waste basket. He rubs his eyes wearily, the misery evident on his face. What was the point anymore? This place? This mission? He looks around his office at all the things the years had built together. He hadn't moved into Carter's office. He hadn't wanted to. This responsibility... running this place... why was it handed to him? Why was he even here anymore?
