Midday

Midmorning creeps closer to noon, as activities continue, trying to make decisions about BJ and the near future. Austin speaks with someone at TJY, but comes up with nothing. It becomes obvious that Sam was telling the truth – no one has been missing a child that matches BJ’s description in the recent past. Anything over several years though has become obscure, leaving research more and more difficult.

“Yeah, thanks…” Austin hangs up the phone from talking with JT. “Well, he’s not working today, but tomorrow he’ll be in, and said he’ll make time for us. He’s got to see Jason anyway, and he’s willing to help us out, no questions asked.”

Mick nods with satisfaction. “Good. Let me call Damien and see about him.” He picks up the phone, dials and waits.

Jason sits on the floor of his bunk, his back up against the wall, deep in thought. Jade had made him stop and really start wondering about his motives…whether he’d been right or wrong… and it was beginning to look as though he really had been wrong. …And that made the pain of losing his friend all the greater.

Susanne readily accepts the papers from Katie, thanking her. Reese smiles as he receives the work from Katie, nodding with satisfaction. He glances at the clock. “Why don’t you go ahead and give Con a call, then it’ll be about time for your lunch break.”
