Run away

*Katie studys the new comer for a moment. Give a friendly smile Katie nods.*

"Nice to meet you, if Jason is to much of a jerk for you just tell one of us and we will wack him for you. "

*Katies gives a grin at her comment trying to get everyones mood light again.*

*Misty looks to Carson, and shakes her head alittle bit.*

"I...I dont know.I've waited to see my brother for a long time, He was my best friend growing up and now this. I just dont understand he'd never hurt a fly. I...just dont know. I guess I'm just confused. I'll just talk to him later and see whats going on.*

*Misty trys to give Carson her best grin than grabs a slice of pizza. She dident want him to worry about her more than he already did.*

*The night draws on and the fun continues as everyone stays light. Today was to much of a good day to stay down for to long.

Katie smiles at Jason and Camryn as they head out.*

"See ya tomarrow J. Nice to meet you again Camryn."

*Katie's eyes follow them out as they leave. A strange feeling pinged inside of her. Trying to push it away she smiles at Scott seeing the tired look in his eye.*

"I think I should be driving you home. You look exsausted Hun. Like your going to fall asleep any minute. If you think you will be ok than yes. If not I'll drive."

*Katie stands waiting for Scott, heading over to Con she gives him a big hug.*

"Night Big Brother. Dont be to mean to that girlfriend of you."

*Katie smiles and throws a wink at Jamie before heading to the door.*

*As Lockheart heads outside with Reese feeling the cool breeze on her face. It was nice out, warm but there was a nice coolness about.

Arriving to the car Lockheart stops and looks up at Reese. He called her by her first name again. The wheels in her head start to turn. Was there more to this invitation than simply stated? Searching Reeses eyes she looks for answers but comes back with non. Lockheart is quiet for a long moment before speaking again.*

"I guess you guys will be needing a good lawyer. I will certinly leave my number with you so if you guys ever need me again you are more than welcome to call. I'm more than happy to be on call for TJY 24 hours. I could even come out time from time to see how things are."

*Lockheart smiles back at Reese opening her car door. Before she gets in she turns again. an undefined look in her eyes.*

"I'll call you some time tomarrow and I'll give you my number and fax of my office. Thanks for everything Reese."

*Lockheart gets into her car slowly driving away she gives a small wave to Reese. As she finally is driving down the road twords the hotel Lockheart lets out a frustrated sigh. She new what Reese was asking, he wanted her to stay. But insted of saying yes she twisted her words to make him think she dident think he was asking her to stay. What was she running away from now, She was so strong in the court room, and with her cases but when it came to her own personaly life everything was crazy and confused. Lockheart dident even know why she felt this strange erg to run. Its not like Reese had said Angelica let get together and date. He was just offering her a job. Lockheart rolls her eyes at herself frustrated continuing to make her way for the hotel.*

Evening closes

Jason gives Katie a short look of gratefulness, knowing that she had read and understood him. He couldn't do that with anyone else.

As Misty speaks to him, he nods. "Thanks, and again...I'm sorry."

Wyatt gives Aerith's hand a squeeze, knowing she's trying her best to be calm and move on. "It's alright," he whispers. "We'll get this whole thing straightened out. But for tonight, let's both just try to have some fun."

With the pizza arriving, Jason glances around, and sees that there are a lot of people looking at him with question as to who this new young woman was. He clears his throat a bit awkwardly. "Um, well...bad timing, but this is my..." Jason hesitates for just a moment. He hardly knew Camryn. He'd seen her only a few times now and barely knew anything about her, other than she seemed nice, was out going, and he knew where she worked. "...acquaintance, Camryn Lane."

Sensing his friend's awkwardness, Con is the first to call out his greeting from the table. "Hey, Camryn. I hope this rowdy bunch doesn't scare you too much."

Camryn laughs. "Hardly. You all look too nice to be scary."

Con grins. "Would you tell my girlfriend that?" He thumbs towards Jamie. "She doesn't think I'm being nice."

"Oooh." Camryn gives him a sly look. "You look like the kind of man who can handle yourself quite well without my help."

Several people around the table laugh as they begin to relax. "Yeah, tanks don't usually need much help," Ty quips.

"Heeey." Con shoots him a mock annoyed glance.

Camryn giggles. "Well it's nice to meet y'all. I didn't mean to barge in on your party."

"You didn't," Laura responds, sensing this young woman's honesty. "Just don't be afraid to join in or defend yourself if these guys get too overbearing for you."

Jason quirks an eyebrow. "For some reason, I don't think that will be a problem."

Camryn elbows him.

"Hey, I meant it in the nicest way," Jason defends.

"Right."

"Come on." Jason heads back down to his end of the table with Camryn behind.

Scott eyes them as they go to the other end. "I've seen her somewhere," he comments, mostly to himself. "But I can't put my finger on it."

As the chatter around the table picks up again, though this time without a war as everyone starts digging into the pizza, Carson leans closer to Misty. He was confused about what had just happened...he knew she had a brother, but didn't know details, nor did he understand how she and Aerith knew each other. But those seemed unimportant details at the moment. The look on Misty's face worried him. "Hey...you alright?"

Despite the brief and tense interruption, the evening proceeds as lighthearted as possible with much talk, much laughter, and much teasing and banter between almost everyone. Scott and Jim get into it over something to do with cars, Con relentlessly picks on Laura, though she seeks protection from Nate, and Wyatt joins in, constantly keeping one eye on Aerith.

"...and then I..." Camryn stops as her cellphone in her purse starts to ring. "Oh, hang on." Standing up, she goes to the corner where there's less noise to take the call.

Jason takes another swig of his soda and looks up just in time to catch a flying ball of napkin, hurled from Rick. "What?"

"You're too quiet!" Rick calls down to him.

Jason shakes his head. "Maybe you're too loud!"

As Camryn comes to sit down again, he diverts his attention back to her and the annoyed look on her face. "What's wrong?"

"Oh, that was Sandi. She dropped me off down here and was going to do some shopping, and come back by and pick me, up. However..." Camryn rolls her eyes. "She got carried away, basically forgot I was here, and now she's at the movies with her boyfriend."

"So you're stranded."

"Yeah, pretty much." Camryn chuckles. "But that's ok. It's a long walk, but I do it all the time."

"In the dark?"

"Well, no, but..."

Jason looks at her with his own annoyance, remembering Frankie. "This town is nice, but it has its creeps. Let me give you a ride home."

Camryn lifts an eyebrow. "Well aren't we being quite the gentleman tonight."

"Is that a no?"

"It's a maybe. What's with you being so nice?"

"I told you I had a good day."

"Mm, you ought to have more of them then."

"I wouldn't mind that." Jason rolls his eyes. "If you're too scared to go with me on my bike, then I'll arrange for someone else here to take you home."

Camryn's eyes light up. "You've got your bike here?"

"Yes."

"Now how on earth could I pass that up? You got an extra helmet?"

"Yep."

Camryn bites her lip, then nods. "Okay."

"That took long enough." Jason looks around, noting that people were beginning to get full, the pizza almost gone.

Camryn follows his gaze. "I'm ready any time."

"Well...let's go then before it gets too late then." Jason stands up and grabs his leather jacket off his chair, handing it to her. "You're wearing this though. Safety for my passengers comes before mine."

Camryn's eyes narrow for just a moment, a smile playing at her lips before she takes his jacket. "Alright."

Jason moves down the table, waving to some of the others. "Good night, guys." Seeing Scott, he gives him a nod. "Scott." His eyes move to Katie and he lets his gratefulness out again through his eyes and feelings. "See you tomorrow."

The table bids him goodnight, and he heads out with Camryn. A few minutes later, his bike can be heard starting and revving down the street.

His was the first exit of many, as the others begin to relent to giving up for the night. Everyone was exhausted, especially those who had been on a flight that morning. Scott's own eyes showed his sheer exhaustion, still running on the little sleep he'd gotten on the plane. It was hard to believe that just that morning they'd been in Texas. It seemed a lifetime ago.
He turns to Katie, offering her a smile. "Can I take you home?"

As the group begins filing out, everyone hollering to Herb and Mable their thanks, Reese holds the door open for Lockheart and steps out onto the sidewalk with her, taking in a deep breath of the evening air. The sun was just sinking below the horizon.

He walks her slowly to her car, his hands in his pockets, deep in thought. Arriving at the vehicle, he stops her. "Angelica..." He pauses, looking at her for a moment. "A lot is going to be changing around TJY now...I think it will be good in the end, but I imagine staff will shift a bit, and the process will be a bit painful at times. Regardless though, Sheriff Brown leaves most of the authority to me in this and that includes who we hire, etcetera." He pauses again. "We could use a good lawyer on the team..."

Continue

*Katie's eyes widen a bit feeling Jason's emotions and seeing through his eyes. Giving a slight nod Katie sits back down.*

"I new there had to be a good reson J, I just dident know what it was."

*Looking past Wyatt Aerith steps forward twords Misty,

Seeing Aerith Misty stands again. It had been sometime but Aerith still almost looked the same as always now that it was pointed out. Hope lingers in Misty's voice. She had always known her brother to be rought and quite forward with wemon but never would he hurt anyone.*

"Aerith...Its been a long time. Is it really true my brother tryed to hurt you?"

*Aerith's face drops alittle bit. She hated to be the one to tell Misty. She new how close her brother and were.*

"I'm sorry Misty, I never saw the look in your brother eye like I did the other night. I really am sorry we had to remeat this way."

*Misty's heart sank. Its just dident make any sence. Could her brother really have changed that much? Siting back down Misty looks to Jason and gives alittle nod. Jason was her friend and she felt foolish for doubting he had a good reason.*

"I'm sorry Hotshot. Please stay with you friend and eat."

*For a moment Katie looks up again seeing Camryn. She dident reconize who she was but could guess she was a friend of Jason. Something rummbles in Katie tummy but she shutgs it off as hunger.

Before anything more can be said Mable and Herb both apear with 2 Pizzas each. Giving a smile Mable refills drinks.*

"Dig in guys. We have more if you want it."

*Misty sits lost in though not sure what to think. So many things were running wild in her mind.

Aerith finally sits down next to Wyatt again. Her nervs calming, but she still felt horrable. Trying to get herself back into better spirits she smiles at Wyatt. Trying to consintrate on him.*

Offered

Jason feels badly for Misty, and knows she’s upset with him now, but just having Frankie leave was a relief as his blood begins to simmer down.

Receiving Katie’s question, he stares her in the eye for a moment, not holding his emotions back from her. There was anger against Frankie, there was frustration for injustice, there was fear from seeing someone hurt. He hadn’t acted on a whim just now – his actions had been justified whether anyone saw it or not.

Finally giving in, Jason shakes his head. He looks past Katie to Misty. “With all due respect, Misty, I’m sorry, but your brother was caught in some regrettable actions against Aerith. If Wyatt and I hadn’t come along the other day…” Jason stops, shifting his eyes towards Aerith, trying to respect her as well. “Let’s just say that I’m glad Wyatt and I were there.”

Wyatt looks between Aerith and Misty, now realizing that they must have known each other…Misty was the sister Aerith had mentioned. This was awkward, to say the least. “I’m sorry, Misty.”

Camryn is totally confused by all of this, and beginning to feel that it was her time to exit. Standing up, she comes up to Jason, speaking quietly. “Maybe I should leave now…I think you’ve got more important things to worry about.”

Not even thinking, Jason puts a hand to her arm. “No…stay…I offered you dinner and I’m not backing out….” He looks back to the others and Misty, then to Camryn again. “…whether it’s here or somewhere else.”

Question

*Frankie stratens alittle, still confused by everything that went on. Seeing the pain in his sisters face, and glancing around the room to the others that were growing uneasy. Laying a hand on her shoulder he nods.*

"Its ok Sis. I can see I am not welcomed and I dont want to cause any problems for you. I'll be in touch again. Maybe we can get together for something to eat."

*Frankie smiles at Misty as the look in his eye starts to waver. Throwing a glair at Jason, Frankie a pat to his sisters shoulder and than turns making his way out of the restront.

Misty watches as her brother leaves. It had been so long since she last saw him and now, before she could even spent time with him he was gone. Spinning around Misty glairs at Jason.*

"What is wrong with you? Why did you do that?"

*Misty cross her arms across her chest and heads back to the table to sit down a bit disapointed.

Aerith relaxes a bit as Frankie leaves, though she cant help but feel bad for Misty. She had caused her not to have a good reunin with her brother. A bit of Aerith feelt horrable.

Katie stands and looks to Jason. Knowing the question was on everyones mind. Keeping her voice calm and cool she speaks.*

"Jason, whats going on? Whats wrong?"

Warning

Wyatt tries to relay comfort to Aerith through his grip on her hand, and just keeps her where she is at a distance, not wanting to stay, but not wanting to leave.

Anger starts to boil within Jason as his emotions surface. Images flash in his mind of seeing Frankie in the parking lot with Aerith. Frankie looked innocent now, but Jason had been the one dodging flying fists…Jason had been the one to see the fear and tears on Aerith’s face. No…Frankie was not welcome here, not by him.

Sensing hostility, the others at the table, including Reese begin to grow uneasy. What was going on?

Jason’s eyes narrow into an angry glare. He has nothing against Misty, but his look is passed on to her anyway. “I don’t care if he’s your brother,” he hisses. “He’s not staying.”

Turning back to Frankie, and looking down on him, he warns him again. “Last chance, Frankie. Get out, or I’m taking you out myself.”

Confustion

*As the other offer there greetings to Frankie one by one, not having a clue to anything Aerith steps back with Wyatt her finger sightly griping his more, as her hand shakes alittle bit. Aerith dident know what to think, or what to do.

Turing his head to Reese Frankie and give a grin.*

"Its good to see you again Uncel Reese."

*Than turns back to Carson giving his hand a shake back. He new who Carson was from when he had see him and his sister together in England.*

"Your must be Carson the one taking care of this little spitfire. Its a pleaseure to meet you."

*Frankie looks down at Jason, his eyes not giving much emotion, other than a bit of confustion. Opening his mouth to say something Misty intarupts. a bit of irratation in her voice.*

"Of corse there is room for him here, I just said he was my brother. Whats gotin into you Jason?"

*Misty keeps her smile held as she looks at Jason. What was wrong with him? Why was he acting like this.

As Kaie listens on she can feel a sence of hostility. A rising emotion in Jason. Something wasent right.*

Shock

Reese cocks his head as he looks at Lockheart, wondering if he was reading her eyes correctly. “Would you ever consider…” As tension suddenly rises in the room, his words trail off and he looks up to see what’s going on.

Wyatt’s hand wraps around Aerith’s protectively as his eyes bare down on Frankie.

As Misty rushes forward, both Jason and Wyatt exchange quick glances, their guards not down for an instant. Carson watches in confusion for a moment, never having seen this man before.

The announcement that Frankie is Misty’s brother widens the eyes of both Wyatt and Jason. While the others in the room start to smile and offer greetings, the two remain tense.

Wyatt’s grip on Aerith’s hand tightens and he backs her up several steps to gain more distance between them and Frankie. Misty’s brother? His own cousin? He’d heard that Frank had been in and out of prison, and never in his wildest dreams had he connected the dots to arrive at the right conclusion. Now that he thought about it, he felt stupid for not realizing this in the first place. But now what…Frankie was out, and was here…and apparently Misty had no clue as to what a monster he could be.

Carson stands up and offers his hand to Frankie. “Nice to meet you.”

Reese’ eyes widen as he realizes just who this is. “Well Frank…it’s…this is a surprise.”

Others in the room wave their hellos. Misty was their friend, and if she was enthusiastic about this newcomer, they had no reason not to be.

Jason doesn’t know what to do. He just stands in shock for a moment. Stepping forward, then back again, his nervousness rising. Everyone around him was clueless. He catches Wyatt’s eye again, but receives no help in knowing what to do. Swallowing hard, he makes a decision and steps forward again, this time, all the way up to Frankie. “I think you need to leave.” His tone is low and cool. “There’s no room for you here.”

Brother

*Jamie returns Con's kiss and smiles. She was glad today went how it did. Jamie was happy this was not the end.

Misty leans into Carson and smiles. The fire burning brighter. The court hearing being over lifted many weaghts from her should. Knowing her and Carson's requerds were clean was a nice feeling.*

"I guess I'll have to remember that for later."

*Lockheart turns and smiles at Reese.*

"Chaos, this is hardly Chaos. This is a breath of freash air to the norm I am sarrounded with all day. I think I am going to rather miss this, than be happy to let it go. Its good to see they still have fun dispide what they have been through. Its a good quolity. You have a might fine staff."

*Lockhearts eyes portray a small bit of sadness as she scans the room. She was going to miss these people.*

*As Aerith enters the room from the other door that joined the room she couldent help containing her laugh from the joke Herb had just shaired.*

"I dont believe you Herb....I..gu...."

*Aerith's words are cut off as her eyes go to the door and Frankie is leaning aganst it. Backing up Aerith gets a look on her face not seen before by the group, but after the other night she had a new fear and out look on Frankie. Finally reaching Wyatt she takes his hand.

Out of the courner of her eyes Misty can see Jason and Wyatt stand abruptly. Braking her graze from Carson Misty follows the boys eyes to the door. Seeing Franking standing in the door way Misty stands.

Truning his gaze back to Misty a smile grows in his face as his eyes are soft. Much differnt from a few days before. They seemed normal, and clam. The crazy look had disapeared. He was normal.*

"Miss me?"

*Misty's grin grows even more looking apong Frankie. Moving around the table quickly Misty goes up to Frankie and throws her arms around him in a strong embrace.*

"Frank....oh Frank...when did you get out? Ohhh...its so good to see you."

*Frankie returns Misty's embrace leaning his head onto hers.*

"I've been out for sometime now. This is just the first chanse I have goten to come and see you."

*Misty draws away from Frankie and smiles.*

"Well I am glad you did."

*Turning Misty looks at the other smiling.*

"Everyone this is my brother Frank. Frankie, this is everyone!"

*Aerith's eyes widen. in disbeliefe. This that was Misty Miller. She had grown since the last time she saw her. And now she was here again. Many thoughts ran through Aerith's mind.*

Noticed

Con’s eyes widen and he lets out a holler as the ice goes down his shirt. Scott is suddenly free, staggering away and laughing.

Con dances around for several minutes, untucking his shirt to let the icecubes fall to the floor. “Jamie, you turkey!” Once the frozen water is gone, he turns to his girlfriend, his eyes narrowing, though humor written on his face. Reaching out, he grabs her and picks her up. “You are not playing fair, young lady!” Planting a quick but passionate kiss on her lips, his eyes dance. “But that’s ok.”

Scott, still laughing, comes back around to plop down in his chair next to Katie again, his face red from the actions. “Are we having fun yet?”

Reese’s face reddens slightly, realizing he’d broken out of his normal actions. He gives Lockheart a sheepish grin. “I guess it’s hard to keep this rowdy bunch subdued once they get going.” Despite the din, he cocks his head. “I bet you’ll be glad to get away from this chaos.”

“Me? Sorry?” Carson gives Misty a look. “Last I knew, your punishment wasn’t something I could ever be sorry for.”

As a figure appears in the doorway, suddenly Wyatt sees the shadow and turns. Spotting Frankie, he’s automatically on his feet.
Jason sees Wyatt stand and follows his gaze. Immediately he stands, ready for anything.

Camryn looks up at him with concern. “Jason, what’s wrong?”

“Just some street scum,” he growls.

Wyatt’s fists ball up tightly as he stares at Frankie. What was he doing here…what did he want?

Fun,desaster

*As the papers, straws, and napkins start more laughter rings out. Filling the room with more joy, the new guest going un-noticed.

Jamie grins geting an evil idea in her head as she see Con put Scott in a head lock. Grabing a handful of ice from the ice bucket Jamie quickly makes her way around to the back of Con. In one quick movement Jamie hops onto a chair close to Con and leans forward taking hold of his shirt and droping the ice down the back.*

"Chill out dude."

*Jamie cant help but let more laughter ring out as she giggles uncontrollably.

Katie cant help but laugh more as Jamie drops the ice down Con's shirt. Wading up more paper and spiting it throgh the straw at Scott, and than Con.*

"AHAH...Big Brother you just got owned by your girl friend."

*Nate sits with Laura as the war starts. Slowly he takes his napkin and balls it up. Tossing it at Laura a grin across his face.*

"If you cant beat them, join them."

*Lockheart sits and watching as the papers start to fly. Stunned for a moment that Reese joined in, but a small smile crossed her face. Breaking the cold perfeshinol look. Her eyes twinkled as she looked around the room.*

"I dont think any cell could of held you all anyways. You would of broken right out."

*Misty also joins in, pelting Carson with straws and wrapers, but taking it easy as well trying not to over dew it. Her laughter is one of the loudest following after Jamies. Her eyes fire burning, and her grin in place. As Carson throws a napkin at her.*

"Your going to be sorry Mr."

*Misty cant help but stick her toung out at Carson.

As the yelling, laughing continues in the other room, the bell on the restront rings again as Frankie enters Mom and Pop's. Hearing the laughter and screaming from the other room His ears pick up Misty's instintly. Slowly walking twords the door he stops and watches the group for a long while. His eyes watching his sister and than dart from one person to the next.*

War

Everyone around is talking across the tables, laughing, swapping stories and having fun.

“Shhh.” Con covers Jamie’s mouth. “Quit telling all those stories about me!” he teases. “Or I’m gonna start in on the ones about you.”

“Oooh,” Carson laughs. “Heavy artillery, huh?”

Con smirks and removes his hand. “Just protecting myself.”

Wyatt grins and lets Aerith go. “Alright, but don’t be gone too long – I might have to send a rescue party after you to drag you out of the kitchen.”

Jason looks up as Katie comes over, his facial expression one of slight apathy, covering up what he might be feeling. He musters up a slight smile though. “Yeah, I guess I’m feeling better.” He twirls his pop glass in his hand. “Glad everyone’s happy…things’ll be different now, but considering the alternative, I don’t think anyone is going to complain.”

“Hey, Katie!” Scott calls down to her. “Con needs your help – he’s dug himself another hole!”

Jason glances down, the corner of his mouth curling. “Your fans are beckoning,” he teases lightly. Not wanting Katie to feel bad or neglected, he nods. “We’ll talk more once this gang has settled down.”

No sooner had Jason been left alone again with that statement lingering, when Con opts for a little more silliness and balls up his straw wrapper to toss it in Scott’s direction.

Scott looks up as the wrapper lands in his lap, but Con is feigning innocence. Scott smirks and picks up the wrapper, stuffing it into the end of his straw, and blowing through the other end to send the paper torpedo back, hitting Con squarely in the chest.

Before Con can react, Scott gets hit from another direction and whips his head around, but doesn’t see the culprit. Picking another target, he grabs another wrapper, sending this one hurling towards Hal, who looks up in bewilderment. Someone shoots another wrapper from down the table. And like an avalanche, suddenly a war breaks out.

Laura’s eyes widen and she scoots back to avoid getting hit. She’d seen who had started this whole thing. “Conrad!”

But her reprimand goes unheard ad Con ducks onto the floor from his chair to stair under the table to the other side where Scott is already on all fours to get away from the barrage.

Scott spots Con and he freezes for a moment before standing and making a mad dash to the end of the table. But his speed is no match for Con’s, and he gets caught by the larger man down at the other end.

Papers are still flying in all directions as Con puts Scott in a choke hold from behind.

“Help!” Scott laughs.

Reese is mid-sentence with Lockheart when he gets hit in the head with a paper projectile. His eyes widen. “Hey!” Looking around, there are too many people involved to find the specific culprit. In a moment of rare humor, Reese picks up his own napkin, balls it up and tosses it in Rick’s direction, beaning him in the head.

Jason sits watching at his end of the table, putting up a hand every once in a while to block paper bullets, and sometimes, to toss one back, but mostly staying out of the battle.

His ears suddenly pick up on the sound of the bell above the front door and he turns to see through to the front room. In her tight black jeans and hot pink tee, Camryn is hard to miss.

Hearing the ruckus in the back room, Camryn automatically looks in that direction and spots Jason. Cocking her head, a grin plays at her lips.

Jason leans back in his chair and gestures to her. She needed to know that Trooper didn’t need a new home if she hadn’t figured it out already.

Camryn comes in slowly, gazing for a moment at the war that had now become one of wrappers, straws and napkins. She can’t help but start to laugh though, at the antics of these adults.

As she approaches, Jason scoots his chair away from the table and grabs another one, pulling it around so they’re still amidst the chaos, but not part of it. “Hey.”

Camryn smiles and sits. “Hey. No dog in the park. Good things, I presume.”

Jason nods. “Why do you think this rowdy bunch is celebrating?”

Camryn giggles. “They look like they’re having fun.”

“I’d say.”

“But what about you?” Camryn looks at his eyes. “How come you’re not shooting straws across the room?”

Jason shrugs, forcing half a grin. “I’ve had enough wars.”

“Coworkers of yours?”

“Yes…friends.”

“I see.”

“So yeah…Trooper can stay with me. Thanks though, for being willing to help me out.”

Camryn shakes her head. “It was nothing. I’m curious as to what went on, but I have a feeling you’re just going to say that you’ll tell me some other time.”

“You’re good.”

“I try.”

“How about trying to accept someone’s quietness for once?”

“Ooh, but there’s no fun in that.” Camryn kicks his shin lightly out of playfulness.

Jason rolls his eyes. “Right.” Despite Camryn’s forwardness, he couldn’t be upset with her. She obviously had a good heart, as she’d shown her willingness to help out, even when Jason’s request had been so bizarre. “Hungry?”

Camryn quirks an eyebrow. “Is that an offer to stay?”

“Maybe.”

“Mr. Cold Attitude asking me to stay and eat?” Camryn reaches out to place a hand on his forehead for a moment. “You don’t feel sick. What happened?”

Jason keeps himself from letting his smile slip. “I’m feeling generous after a huge win at the courthouse.”

“So in other words, if I don’t take you up on this now, I may never have another chance.”

“Could be.”

Camryn smirks at him, but can’t hold in her sly grin. “Alright. I’ll take what I can get.” Turning her chair around to be at the end of the table with Jason, she looks at the rambunctious group. “So…you going to introduce me?”

“Now?” Jason raises his eyebrows. “I’d be too frightened of getting bombarded with wrappers at the moment. It would be best to remain silent and motionless unless you want to be apart of this war.”

Camryn giggles. “You really are a party pooper aren’t you?”

“That’s a very strong possibility.”

“Well, we’ll just have to remedy that.”

“Oh, really?”

Camryn shoots him a sly glance. “Really.”

Jason leans forward on his elbows. “And how do you think you’re going to do that?”

“That’s my secret.” Camryn picks up an unused straw to unwrap and shoots the paper at Jason. “But Camryn Lane doesn’t give up easily.”

“I’m beginning to figure that out.”

“Sore at me again?”

Jason tilts his head and studies Camryn’s face. At the moment, he could honestly say he wasn’t. Camryn was quite a character, but for some reason her presumptuousness didn’t get under his skin anymore, but rather gave his thoughts somewhere different to wander – somewhere that maybe enjoyed the banter. “Nah.”

*Aerith smile as her and Wyatt pull into Mom and Pop's. Forgeting everything but the joy she felt. How good it was to know Wyatt could start his life now, He could be happy and not hide in the shadows anymore. God was amazing and had granted this group there request. Everything was layed in his hands and he had known what to do. Aerith smiles as she gets out of the Jeep and heads inside with Wyatt.*

"Its funny I think I spend more time here when I am not working than when I actully am."

*Lockheart smiles at Reese and gives alittle nod with her head.*

"I think I could go for some pizze myself. I probley wont be leaving to head back to Cali for a few days anyways."

*Lockheart smiles at she walks out the door and to the van she was braught in.Her head held high, forherself, for the other. Lockheart was over joyed that they won. So many people were given there life back and she was happy to have been a part of it. Leaving for Cali was going to be hard. She had built friendships here, and leaving them was going to be hard. But Lockheart had to go home. After the court hearing she had no need to stay anymore. THough she would stick around at least 2 more days to rest before heading out.*

* As everyone enters the room excitment and joy breaks out. Everyone chating, remembering old times and times to come.

Katie sits with Scott her hand in his. Chattering away the excitment in the air the emotions in her eyes. Stoping for a moment and scaning the room Katie's eyes meet Jason. Smiling she nods at Scott telling him she will be right back. Standing Katie makes her way over to Jason a smile on her face. Siting down she lets out a small sigh.*

"Hey you. Feeling better now that we are in the clear? I know I am."

*Jamie sits with Con unable to hold her laughter in anymore. It rings through the small room. Her arms waving in the air explaining something Con did one time or another.*

"You know how silly you looked, you even said you though you were too you Crazy man."

*Aerith smiles at Wyatt and even laughs at Jamie's story. It was nice to spend time with people who accepted her, and liked having her around Aerith did enjoy it. *

"Well I think I am going to see is Mable needs anyhelp and Herb to. I guess I just cant stay awya from work huh."

*Aerith leans over and gives Wyatt a kiss in the cheek.*

"I'll be right back. Dont miss me to much ok."

*Aerith stands and disapears through the door.*

*Lockheart sits next to Reese, having light conversation with him. Most of it was about work.*

Gathering

Carson laughs as he grabs Misty, hanging on so she can't slide back off. "Well I certainly don't mind." He searches her eyes for a moment, but decides not to be mean this time. Giving in, he leans in and presses his lips to hers.

Wyatt returns Aerith's hug with a tight one of his own. Smiling at her he nods. "So am I....so am I." He gives her a light kiss and reaches for her hand. "Come on. Let's get out of here."

Scott draws away, bringing a hand up to Katie's face. A smile curls his mouth. "Now we really do have forever."

Con grins as Jamie shouts the invitation for a celebration. Bringing her into a bear hug, he whispers in her ear. "I love you, Jamie." As she pulls him to the door, he slings an arm around her shoulder.

Jason is just outside the doors when he hears Jamie, and a small grin appears. Genuine fun was what everyone needed at this point. He continues his route outside, taking a breath of fresh air and aiming for the vans.

As Reese hears Jamie's invitation and the enthusiastic shouts afterward, he smiles at Lockheart. "I guess this is once celebration I shouldn't miss. Sheriff Brown is giving us several days to settle down anyway." He cocks his head. "It would be an honor for you to join us, if you want to. I've never had anyone turn down pizza from Mom and Pop's before."

Three black vans and a jeep roll back into town, it's cargo so much different than on the way out earlier. Weights had been lifted. There was joy there now.

Wyatt and Aerith head straight to Mom and Pop's to warn Herb and Mable of the upcoming group.

The others are dropped off one by one either at their homes, or taken to TJY so everyone can have their own vehicles, and not all were going to get pizza. Some would go home to be with their families.

It doesn't take long for people to start showing up at the restaurant, the chatter and laughter following everyone. The back of the room becomes quite crowded, but no one cares. They're here to celebrate, and nothing can upset them.

As everyone gets to their seats, most are with those they love, or close friends from work. Grouped off in pairs or trios, they all have someone to be with and to share their excitement.

Jason sits on the far end, not involving himself too much. His eyes roam the room, the faces, the emotions.

CELABRATION!

*For a moment as the judge speaks and the words of being guilty are hurd Lockheart's heart sinks. How could this happen.

A small gasp escapes Katie's lips. No, they coulent all go to jail. Lockheart had done so good, she had made a strong case.*

* A tear rolls from Rosetta's eye as her grip tighten around Mick's hand. Her Ranch, her home, her friends....all gone.*

*The chatter and gasps, mermers continue untill the sound of the judges gavel is hurd when all falls silent again. No one quit understanding what was going on.

As the judge continues and the rest of what he has to say it hurd, as the names are read off, name of the past, faces forgoten but remembered. Names of people who dident even know this hearing was going on stricken clean. Faces break off into smiles, joy fills hearts bringing hope.

Finally when the draws to a close and the room goes crazy everyone stands. Excitment, hope running through the air.

Lockhear smiles back at Reese. Her face bright a beaming. It felt good to know these people were free now.*

"It was my pleasesure Reese. I am glad it worked out for the best."

*For a moment Misty forgets about her ingorys and stands jumping into Carson's arms and wraping her legs around him wincing once but not caring.*

"Like I mind being stuck with you."

*Misty rolls her eyes and leans in pressing her lips to Carson's.

Beaming Aerith throws her arms around Wyatt.*

"Thank you Lord...thank you."

*Squeezing Wyatt alittle tighter Aerith cant help but start to giggle as she draws away.*

"Oh I'm so happy you guys won Wyatt. This is wonderful."

*Katie returns Scott's kiss with enthusasum. Kaite's heart sang for joy. One capter in life was closed and another was now open. What more could she ask for.

Nate stands and embraces Laura. A million emotions running through his mind.*

"We did, We'er free."

*As Jamie is lifted into the air wraped in Con's arms she cant help but let out a stong laugh that runs out through the court room. The joy, the releaf was over welming. Giving Con a Kiss on the lips till her lets her down Jamie cant help but let out a whoop of her own...yelling.*

"DINNER TO CELABRATE AT MOM AND POP'S LETS GO!!!!"

*Jamie makes her way to the door pulling Con along in excitment. Followed by everyone alse.*

Ruling

Lockheart's words drive hope into those waiting. Her courage, her passion…it is what they all felt and all desired to express. Honor rested among them…humility for the acts they had done without prior praise. Recognition was not something they were used to, but here and now, it felt good. No matter what happened, no one regretted their involvement with TJY.

As Lockheart finishes and sits next to Reese and turns his head to give her a nod, expressing his gratitude. His eyes reflect his feelings that she had done her best, for the best of TJY and no one else could have done better.

Those at the ranch listen intently, drawn in by what was happening. All await the judge’s response.

Judge Mills leans back in his chair and scans the eyes that look upon him. The room is deathly quiet. One could hear a pin drop. Someone’s foot scuffs the floor, making someone else jump. A bird flutters by one of the windows, an unnecessary annoyance rising as the tension continues.

Fingering his gavel, Judge Mills remains deep in thought, not allowing the quietness to pressure him into a quick decision.

He glances down to sift through his papers once more before finally raising his head again. “We will recess. Please reconvene in forty-five minutes.”

As he rises from his seat, the TJY group sinks lower in their chairs. They just wanted to know the verdict. Some rise to stretch their legs. The policemen at the doors allow them to move about and leave the room to use the restrooms or the water fountain.

Carson bounces his leg nervously and goes for a pack of gum. Jason paces in the corner. Others just sit and wait, silent, with no words to speak.

The forty-five minutes seem to take an eternity. But right on time, the judge returns, forcing everyone back into their seats, eyes forward once again. No one dares murmur a sound.

Judge Mills’ voice takes over the room once more. “Never in all my years as a judge have I ever come across a case even close to this one. Never have I had anything even close to what I’m hearing now. It really is absurd. An underground corporation of vigilantes? But the proof is here.” He holds up a stack of papers, including those Lockheart had given him. “You exist, and apparently this thing called the Agency exists as well.”

He scans the expectant faces. “I don’t think I have to remind you all that everyone here deserves to spend time behind bars one way or another. Despite your desperation, feeling alone, and longing to help others, your actions have not only gone above the law, but in some cases have been downright illegal.”

Several TJY staff swallow hard. Scott’s fingers tighten around Katie’s. Jason sits rigid in his seat, his knuckles growing white from the fists he holds in his lap. Con keeps his grip on Jamie’s hand. Laura’s eyes shift to the side, searching for reassurance in Nate. Wyatt stiffens, ready for Aerith needing to leave. Carson grits his teeth, feeling Misty next to him, and finding it hard not to run. All are quiet. All are tense.

Judge Mills continues. “All of you deserve punishment in one form or another. The case I see is black and white. I honestly have no legal reason to let you off the hook, despite your willingness to come forward, and your strong defense.”

Hearts begin to sink. This was it. This was the end.

The mess hall at the ranch is deathly still. All eyes remain glued to the screen as they hear what’s happening. This wasn’t good. The judge was aiming in the wrong direction. No…he couldn’t do this. Not after Lockheart’s words. Not after her plea that exposed the very heart of TJY.

Judge Mills’ face remain solemn. “My ruling is as follows. I find TJY, its employees and all affiliates in state and out…guilty.”

Eyes widen in shock. Jaws drop. Shock like a wave surges across the courtroom.

The ranch messhall sits in stunned silence. After all their work…after that speech by Lockheart – how could this be happening?!

Cindy chokes on a muffled sob as she tries not to distract from what the others are viewing.

Mumblings break out across the courtroom as irritation rises. There is hurt and anger. No one understands how this could be happening. Not after all that Lockheart and Sheriff Brown had done. Not after all their efforts.

The judge raps his gavel on the stand loudly. “Order!” he demands. “Or you’ll all be held in contempt of court.” He watches and waits until there is silence again.
“The sentencing is as follows: Those employed by TJY, and its affiliates in and out of state are hereby sentenced to…considering commitments and contracts, signing on to a new branch of law enforcement – the Elite.”

Eyes widen even further. What was going on?

Judge Mills continues matter-of-factly. “Anyone may consider not joining the Elite, but if not an employee, they must remain uninvolved in future cases, and if interfering with this law enforcement, will be treated as civilian.” He picks up several sheets of paper. “Along with your obligations to upholding the law, whether part of the Elite or not, and considering past heroisms, comes the state of Nevada’s obligations to recognize the efforts of TJY and its band of vigilantes for the help they have provided to law enforcement. Upon this recognition, the state of Nevada hereby grants pardons to the following persons. This does not mean that criminal acts outside of lawful efforts, such as by those who may have been employed by the Agency, have gone ignored, however, I feel it is more worth to start with clean slates than dredge up individual crimes. Therefore, the names are: Michael Henson, Rosetta Pent, James and Rebecca Henson, Tyler Henson, Wes and Cindy Henson…” The names continue to be rattled off.

Those in the courtroom and those at the ranch are on the edges of their seats, all waiting to hear their names. Hope had been restored. Was this really happening this way? Was it really, truly turning out how they had hoped and prayed it would?

“…Angel Lachey, Wendy Lachey, Luke Trahern…Samantha Henson…Annie Henson…Trent Pent…”

Trent sinks down further in his chair, stunned. Of all people, he should have been stricken from that list.

“…Austin Stevenson…Casey (Carter) Stevenson…Nathaniel Driers…Conrad Gibbs…Laura Gibbs…” The names continue, listing everyone from far and wide, who had ever touched on any case either involving the Agency, or dealing directly with TJY. “Greg Timble, Dr. Jack Timble, Xander Trahern…Jeffrey Pent, Eric Pent…Derek Stevenson…”

Jason tenses just a little, hearing the name of his father. It sounded strange…he’d seen it in print when going through old files, but hearing it aloud felt…just strange.

“…Jason Stevenson…Katherine Pent…Scott Johnson, Sapphire Johnson…Misty Miller…Carson Banks…”

Though assuming it was coming, Carson feels a strange pang as his name is read. He was pardoned…Him…of all people…the worst of the worst… being pardoned….it was…humbling.

“…Rick and Janet Johnston…Wesley Sanders…Allen Bryers…Angelica Lockheart…Mike Reese, Wyatt Reese…Mississippi Lachey…Trish Anderson…Jamie Franklin…Clint Henson, Rosalynn Henson, Tyler Baker-Henson…Melanie Thomas…Damien Shaw…” Name after name after name…those with TJY, those from Texas, family members, those heavily involved in work, those who simply knew of their work. “…Gary Miles…Hal Timbs…”

The list goes on until Judge Mills is finally finished reading off the names. Drawing them to a close, he sets his paper down, though still speaks. “Any names omitted from this list may submit requests to be pardoned that I will grant as I see fit.”

He looks out on all the faces again. “Details regarding the forming and employment of the Elite is now handed over to Sheriff Brown. He will deal with individuals and process as he sees fit outside of this courtroom.”

Pausing again, he scans the stunned expressions, and a trace of a smile can be seen on his stern face. “Court adjourned. Now please – I have a murder trial next, and I need this room.” Feeling the shocked silence, he waves them off. “So get out of here and celebrate your win, or I’m going to drag you all back in here again!”

Suddenly someone lets out a whoop and everyone is on their feet.

Con stands abruptly, and grabs Jamie, lifting her off her feet and spinning her around.

Reese tilts his head back and closes his eyes, letting out a long slow breath of relief. Turning, he looks to Lockheart. “Thank you…”

Carson stands with the others and grins at Misty, his eyes regaining their spark. “Looks like you’re still stuck with me.”

Wyatt breaths a sigh of relief and he can’t help his smile as he turns to Aerith. “I can’t believe we did it…we really did it…” His hand tightens around hers. “I guess I’ll get that hug after all.”

Jason leans his back up against the wall, just closing his eyes for a moment, his hands in his pockets. It was over…the hiding was over…and best of all – he would not have to go back to prison. Relief wasn’t half of what he felt. Opening his eyes, he scans his coworkers…his friends. Their lives would still be changing, but it was in the right direction this time. Giving a little nod, he’s one of the first to head out of the courtroom.

Scott’s head whips around to Katie, his eyes wide. Slowly a smile spreads. Without needing to say anything, he draws her close and plants a kiss on her lips, not caring who was there or watching.

Laura gets to her feet, bouncing just a little as she looks to Nate, her smile spreading from ear to ear. “We won! We really won!”

Cheers break out through the mess hall back at the ranch as excitement can’t be contained. Tears of joy stream down faces. Hugs, laughter and loud chatter can’t be contained.

The Hearing

*The ride to the court room is quiet. The questions on everyone's minds but the words not spoken for fear it would only make them true. Everyone clings to those they hold near. Some have there heads bowed as they pray.

Aeirth hold Wyatt's hand the whole way to the court house. Her other hand on top. Silent prayers fill her mind. Finally arriving Aerith hand slips from Wyatts geting out of the car.

As everyone makes they way into the court room hearts race and nervs are high. Finding there seats everywaits not knowing what is to come.

Katie keeps her eye glued forward watching, waiting...wondering.

Jamie stands close to Con, slightly leaning on him. Feeling his comfort. Whispering softly*

"I love you."

*Than turning her attachen back to the judges stand.*

Nate keeps his fingers wraped around Laura's giving them a gentil aqueeze.

Lockheart takes her place at a small table infront of the judges stand. Opening her brefcase and takeing out papers, files, and envilopes.*

*Rosetta clings to Mick as they watch the TV. Katie can slightly be made out. Seeing her siting there was sad knowing she was drawn into this hurt even more. Life was starting to turn out good, Rosetta's own family being built and yet today all that could be taken away. Clinging alittle tighter Rosetta waits pashently.

Wes wraps his arm around Cindy holding her close. Giving her the comfort she despretly needed. Feeling her warmth close to him gave his own hope everything would be ok.

Angel sits with Luke her own paulse racing. Angel smiles at her eyes meet Lukes for a moment before there attachen was taking back to the TV, the court was about to start.*

*As the Judge calls to Lockheart her paulse races. Gathering up her papers Lockheart stalls for time to calm herself. Blocking all emotions except confadence from her mind Lockheart stands and draws closer to the judge clearing her throught.*

"I make my opening statement saying the state convicts innocent people all the time; we don’t always look at what is right and what is true. We often are quick to pass judgment before details are met, and getting the whole story. Sometimes it’s easier for us to believe what we think we see than to believe what is really true and have faith. You’re path is hard choosing to take ones life or give them life. So reach into the depths of your heart now and listen what I have to say about these people. Open your eyes for me and your hearts so these people can be herd.*

*Lockheart turns and gesturs to the TJY staff. Her eyes finding Reese and gaining even more condence, than Dart to Katie's she was so young, she couldent go to jail, than to Jasons, she lets him down once she couldent do it again. Turning again Lockheart continues.

Going through what she can trying not to leave out details. Going over what she had planed out and taking everything father into detailed. Everything Lockheart spoke was the truth according to Reese and a few others she talked to. With this there as no skimming, no hiding what went on. EVERYTHING was out and open.

Stoping Lockheart walks back to the table and grabs a very large vanilla envilope. Walking to the judges stand with it Lockheart hands it to him.*

"I also have some new evidence that was presented to me last night. Samantha Henson who is now desisted had these file for a while that were being kept for her. How they got into my hands I can not say. I was promised to my own silence. But I went over the papers, files and everything in there is legit. Its more proof that the Agency does exists, and what these people at TJY do is for the right reason."

*Once again Lockheart draws silent as she flips through pages with the judge revealing names, places, acts by the agency. Also followed up by photos, letters, names and acts of good TJY had done. Sam had everything written out, everything laminated, filed by times, times, place, names. That single file held more information than all of TJY could ever dream of having. There was even information about BJ, about what happen with Katie’s mother and brother, everything. Everything dating back to when Rosetta, Mick, Annie, the whole gang was born and taken. From what it looked like Sam had been working on this for a long time, waiting for a moment like this to come.

Time seems to pass slow but als it does not. Before anyone knows it at least an hour had gone by as Lockheart's Strong voice rang out through the court room. Her confadence, her passion showing through bringing hope to those who had little. Offering light to those who were in dark till finally Lockheart was drawing to an end of her talking.*

"…So in concluding I say these cases that TJY has worked on for many years. The good they have done. Many bad people are behind bars because of this underground corporation. Many unexplained things have been brought to a case that has helped catch those to deserve to be put away. Would we condemn a super hero for saving the word? Would we turn away a super hero who catches the robber, or the rapist? No we would write in the papers about the hero that saved lives, we would stand in aw at the chance to get a glimpse of the hero that caught the guy trying to destroy an innocent life. So I ask you what is so different with this group of people. They are our heroes here in Nevada and around the world. They have take bullets for the innocent, shed blood for the weak, and some have even died to save another life. They resuse the person who was being raped or the guy that’s life flashed before his eyes as his throat was going to be slit. They saved the wrongly accused and always put themselves before others risking there life to die for the innocent. Yes…these are our heroes. There are the people I want to know are around the corner as my child walks home from school, As I go out to my car in the middle of the night. These are the people I am honored to call friends, my heroes. Never have they receved a thanks for saving my life, Thanks for not leting me die. Never have they asked for money for what they did, they hid in the shadows finding joy in knowing what they did was right....These are our heros, our Angels."

*Lockhearts gaze once again drifts across the room to all the many faces looking back at her. A smile crossing her lips. Looking back to the judge much feeling in what she had just said and her eyes portrayed it. Lockheart turns but doesn’t take her place at the table but instead she goes and sits with the people from TJY. Siting in the only empty seat next to Reese. If they were to go down so was she. Everything she had worked for, her business would be gone, her career destroyed, but it’s was worth it to stand up for these people. To do what was right. She was one of them in one way or another now.*

Court

Everyone ready to leave stands in silence as Lockheart speaks. Though no one knows what will happen, and though this time is grim, her strong words seem to provide strength to those who need it. No matter what, they were proud of who they were and what they had done through TJY.

Reese gives Lockheart a nod as she finishes. Looking over his staff, he grows a little solemn. “Whatever happens today guys…you have been the best staff anyone could ask for. I’m proud to not only call you my employees, but to call you my friends. Thank you for putting your heart, souls and lives on the line for the cause of TJY. It’s been an honor.”

Giving another short, decisive nod, he claps his hands. “Alright! Everybody load up, or we’re going to be late!” He gestures to Lockheart. “I’m driving van two – you can ride shotgun with me.”

Wyatt shakes his head at Aerith. “No, I don’t know yet. I think it will be okay though…we’ll just have to see if the bailiff will let you in. Probably if you just stick with me, you can slip in without anyone questioning.”

He turns his head for just a moment, keeping one eye on the road. “Thanks for coming, Aerith…it means a lot. If things go south today…it might get kind of crazy, so all I need you to do is get out fast if that happens so you don’t get caught in the middle. Then go straight back to Mom and Pop’s so they can help you out.”

Wyatt reaches a hand over to take Aerith’s. “But just keep praying that doesn’t happen.”

After a few minutes as they pull onto the highway to head to the next town, Wyatt chuckles. “Great timing.” Coming down the road are three black vans. “There’s the gang. We’ll slip in behind them.”

The trip takes them half an hour. To some it seems long, to others it seems too short. Friends sit near each other to offer support, though not many words are said. Those in love clasp hands, trying to give each other comfort and hope. So much was at stake…so much on the line.

As the large courthouse comes into view, the vans file into the parking lot along with Wyatt’s jeep. Parking in a row, everyone gets out and waits for Reese and Lockheart to lead the way.

Reese gives one last glance over his people, then to Lockheart. “Let’s go.”

The small crowd receive many strange glances from passers by, looking at them with question. Who were they? What were they doing here? Were they good or bad, heading into court?

Up the steps and inside the wide open foyer, Sheriff Brown is waiting. He steps forward, offering his hand to Reese then Lockheart. Relief shows on his face. “I trusted you guys, but it’s good to see you actually came.” His eyes scan the others. “Wow…you do have quite a base.”

Reese chuckles. “This is just who’s in the office.”

“Alrighty then…” Brown takes a deep breath, letting it out slowly. “Follow me. Judge Mills will be here soon and the proceedings are to start in twenty minutes.”

The whole group marches down the tiled halls until they reach two tall doors that lead into a large courtroom filled with more than enough seats. Reese gestures to everyone. “If you could all please find your seats, I would appreciate it. I know from Reese you all are honorable people, but it’s my job to remind you to remain respectful, quiet unless spoken to, and above all, cause no riots or you will only make things worse for yourselves. I want this thing to work out as much as any of you, because I’ve been convinced what you people have been doing is right. But my job is to help keep peace.”

Understanding and complying, the TJY group begins to find their seats.

Scott breaks away to approach Brown himself, offering a handshake even though his stomach was in knots from nervousness. “Hi, I’m Scott Johnson.”

“Ah, yes.” Brown nods as he shakes his hand. “You’re the tech guy.”

“That’s right.”

“Good. We got everything set up just how Reese said you’d need it, so feel free to come on over and do what you have to do.”

Scott holds up his cell phone. “I’ll have to call up to the Texas ranch so they can be set up too.”

“No problem.”

Scott glances behind him to find Katie and gives her a little wink. He knew she’d save a seat next to her for him.

It doesn’t take Scott long to get the camera set up, and after calling Pete to get things going at the ranch, everything was in place.

The courtroom grows quiet. Scott’s hand is around Katie’s as they wait. Laura sits nervously next to Nate. Con has an arm around Jamie, trying not to think of the worst. Carson is next to Misty with his fingers entwined in hers. Jason sits off to the side surrounded by a few empty seats, letting his own thoughts run rampant. Wyatt, who had received permission to let Aerith in, sits with her quietly near the back.

The mess hall at the ranch sits in silence as all eyes focus on the screen. It was a wide shot of the courtroom, showing just the edge of the crowd that was there, and the judge’s stand. All wait…all worry…all pray. Mick keeps Rosetta’s hand in his, his mind drifting from her there with him, to the little boy down the hall who played, clueless about what was really happening here.

Cindy leans her head on Wes’ shoulder, her courage keeping back the tears. She can just see Jason to the side of the screen.

Luke glances to his side at Angel, giving her an encouraging nod. He had faith...he had to.

Sparky and Mel sit next to each other, quietly waiting with the others. Before the proceedings begin, Sparky’s hand creeps over to hers and takes it to give it a gentle squeeze.

“All rise!”

A thunderous sound erupts as everyone stands. Judge Mills makes his way to his stand, his black robe proving his authoritative position. As he sits down, the room lowers once again. The bailiff announces the case, and everyone waits for the judge to speak.

Looking out across the room, his gray hair shows years of experience, his eyes not telling whether this was a case that he was intrigued by or annoyed by.

“I have reviewed this case thoroughly.” Judge Mill’s voice is deep, demanding attention. “You all know why you’re here. I see no reason to repeat details we all know and waste courtroom time. As such, I would like to proceed with this case as quickly an efficiently as we can.” His eyes scan the faces of those on trial. “I will hear from your representative and I will make a judgment based on your plea and based upon the information I have already reviewed. Anyone to create a disturbance before or after my judgment will be thrown out of this courtroom.”

He pauses for effect. “Miss Lockheart. Please step forward and present your case.”

Speech

*As Lockheart exits the office with Reese and scans all the faces a certin more confitint air forms around her. She was strong and needed to be stronger for every single person in this room. Clearing her throt Lockheart waves her hand in the air.*

"Excuse me people. Please if you could pay attachen to me for a moment. I have a few thinks I would like to talk to you about that is important."

*Lockheart waits as the room draws silent and everyone turns her way. Looking out into all the eyes Lockheart finds the strength. Glanding at Reese fast and than looking back out at everyone she finally speaks again.*

"Today is an important day, only that will be the foundation of TJY's freedome. There is no I can't, or wonts...there is only do, and will. Your faith has gotten you this far, it will see you through till the end and today we WILL walk out of that courtroom free to speak this companys name. The Agency will learn to fear TJY, and cring more than they do now when they hear the name. Today we go into battle and come out the winners."

*Lockheart scans the faces again, one to another. They eyes of many telling there storys. They hope displayed, the fear. It was there but it gave them life, and there faith was also pressent.*

"There are a few things I do ask though. Once we go into that court room, all must me silent. No matter what is said, you must not speak unless put up on that stand to testafy. I am sure non of you will be put up there but it is always a possablity. If any of you are just tell the truth, dont sugar coat it and it will be ok."

*Lockheart offers a smile to the crowd of people once more.*

"Well unless Reese has anything he would like to say. We are as ready as we ever are going to be."

*Lockheart looks to Reese to see if he had anything to add.*

*Aerith is releaved to see Wyatt pull up finally before Frankie can even think about coming into the restront or talking to her. Waving to Herb and Mable again they give her there wishes for Jamie and Aerith leaves again opening the door and jumping into the jeep. Leaning over Aerith gives him a quick kiss in the cheek.*

"Good timing."

*As Wyatt and Aerith pulls away Aerith dosent even bother to look where Frankie is but can feel his eyes watching the car as it pulls away.

As Aerith's smile returns to her face Aerith turns to talk to Wyatt.*

"So do we know if I will be able to come in or if I will have to wait outside? Anything I should know so its not a saprise?"

Time

Katie’s words…her touch…the emotions emitted through her voice and eyes… They made Scott’s pulse quicken just a little bit. Warmth comes to his cheeks as she asks him not to change. No one had ever said that to him before.

He wants to speak…wants to return her words, that she herself deserved so much, but they seem to get stuck in his throat at he gazes into her never-ending eyes. Her touch to his face makes him close his eyes for an instant, just remembering how her light stroke feels on his skin.

As Katie draws nearer, his hands automatically find their way to her sides, then back. Feeling her breath on his cheek, sensing her drawing closer and closer, a chill runs down his spine.

Her whispered words feel like a wind so strong to uproot a tree, but so gentle to caress a kite. Scott’s heart beats harder within his chest as Katie moves to kiss his lips. Tightening his hold around her, he returns the kiss with a passion discovered only for her.

Not wanting the moment to end, but knowing it must, Scott slowly, gently retreats. Searching Katie’s eyes, his own dance, despite the day they were facing. “Love…” he whispers, “so…that’s what this feeling is.”

His hand comes up to gently cradle the side of her face. “You’re an amazing woman, Katie…I love everything about you…and I’ll try not change too much, but only if you do too.”

Letting his eyes go from one of hers to the other, he moves in to plant another, quicker kiss on her lips. “Don’t let that horizon get away from you,” he whispers. “Without impossibilities, dreams can’t exist.”

Wyatt drives his jeep down the street, throwing it into a lower gear as he nears Mom and Pop’s He was running just a little late and needed to get back with everybody else, or at least meet them at the courthouse.

Spying a figure walking down the sidewalk, bit if ire hits Wyatt. Frankie wasn’t going to get away with anything…not today.

Pulling up near the front of the restaurant, Wyatt waves, seeing Aerith waiting inside.

Misty’s words are just as bit deeper than Carson was expecting, so he doesn’t respond other than giving her hand a squeeze. She made him feel different than any other woman ever had…and he likes it.
Walking to TJY gets them there just as everyone else is starting to gather.
Reese comes out of his office with Lockheart, heading to the group forming by the door.
